Castor dodged the monstrous Owen's thoughts, trying to find what he needed. Owen didn't even seem remotely human at this point, and his fight with Rev and Leonidas was causing him to grow frantic and excited. Almost happy, filled with glee to be in the thick of the fight. Was he enjoying this, did he believe he was doing the right thing? Why? What was the point of turning yourself into a monstrosity? Could he change back? By the look of things, probably not? Castor couldn't sort through the jumbled thoughts, there was no order or sense in any of them, but there was a detectable sense of pride.

"Dammit Owen, what are you doing you narcissistic bastard?!"

And then they materialized, a stream of thoughts depicting Owen's plan. The plug suits were making things easier for him. Easier for what? And there it was, the Narcissus containment system. It could turn an A.T field against its owner. The more powerful, the more damage done to its owner. It was perhaps the ultimate weapon against an angel, especially a weakened one. It was also the ultimate weapon against evas. He wanted the pilots pushed to their limits and left weakened. Castor couldn't believe it.

"My God, hes going crazier than Pollux... Why would he do this, why would anyone do this? Dammit Owen, what is your motherfucking motivation?!"

Suddenly thousands upon thousands of images flashed by, destruction of everything. . Angels, Lilim, Adam, life itself; all perishing at once, at his hand. There were cities burning, NERV facilities exploding, angels dissolving, SEELE falling, and evas screaming out, slaughtered mercilessly, their pilots screaming in agony along with them.

"There is no plan...you-you've just lost it. How did this even happen? How could you even acquire that much power?"

As the other thoughts disbanded, one final thought presented it. It was of an angel, the first angel the team ever fought. Kemmuel, a cowardly angel that had hidden behind pawns, tricks, and insurances to stay alive. The one that wormed itself into Pollux's head, the one that created an eva, the one, and the one that gave Owen his power. Castor then thought about the being known as Alastor, and realized why it had felt so familiar.

"You sure do get around you Wiley bastard..."

Castor knew what he needed to know. Now what was he gonna do with it?

[hr]

Pollux charged at the angel once more, dodging the flakes that attempted to slice through Unit-31. They formed huge glowing blades that sliced through the ground, barely missing the eva. Pollux wasn't gonna be taken out that easily. He jumped sky ward, firing off multiple rockets, only to have them softened by the angel's A.T field. Didn't matter, he just needed the cover. The flakes threw two gigantic slabs of rock at Pollux, but he caught them and starting rotating them at high speeds, turning them to molten. He chucked them at the angel, rotating around it hat impossible speeds. The frost on his handles intensified.

"Alright you bastard, maybe my first dish was too spicy for you. Let's cool it down a bit."

Pollux shot forward, the air behind him shimmering slightly. The air was condensing slightly. The flakes attempted to stop him, but most were frozen in midair, as Pollux careened towards the angel. Unit-31's arm was practically frozen, shimmering as the air around it froze as well. The temperature in Pollux's plug was dropping and so was the air around the eva. This was it, time to do the impossible. Pollux didn't want to feel invincible, he didn't deserve it, he was too problematic. He then remembered Rev's speech and felt the scar on his back. He had to wear his problems on his sleeve. Pollux's dream about the prince stood out in his mind. Time to try on fantasy and narcissism.

"Prince Pollux-"

The temperature was nearing an impossibility. Something that shouldn't be possible, that scientists have argued about for decades. The air around the eva was freezing at an amazing rate, and the air glittered around it. The fist looked almost like a comet as it neared the angel.

"-Freezer Burn-"

The first neared the wall of molten rock, and a change in air pressure rapidly took place, as well in the transfer of KE. The molten rock and froze fist cause an outrageous pressure change, and as the fist's temperature dropped to new lows never before seen, the potential energy in the fist rose.

"PISTOL!"

The fist collided with the wall of molten rock, a powerful change in air temperature and a sudden conversion in potential energy to kinetic energy, sent out an outrageous shockwave. Unit-31 was sent flying back, and the angel was sent flying back, it's A.T field diminished severely.

"Bon appetite."

Castor finds out about Owen's plans and tries to figure out what to do with it all. Pollux breaks through the angel's A.T field using his new skill- extremely low temperature manipulation"

Rev in Unit-27, in a surge of power and fury, folding some beast's limbs back with his A.T. Field, breaking them.

Addison in Unit-09, going head-to-head with Chris Gannon's eva. But the pilot was no more. A monster had taken his place.

Pollux in Unit-31, A.T. Field neutralizing against Naatiel, burning and freezing enormous sections of shining exoskelton from it before a scything arm came down on top of him.

Lisa in Unit-13, being launched from below and rushing onto the battlefield.

And Piggy in Unit-02. The battle was everywhere, because from from within Abaddon something was growing, spreading roots out into the streets.

Huge! Deadly!

Piggy was reeling from psychological contamination. Naatiel showing him who he wanted to be, the other pulling apart his sense of hope and purpose turning them it into insanity and despair. It was pleasure and horror at the same time and threatened to tear his mind apart. Alexander was reaching in at the fringes, pulling him back. But Nikolai's was shattered. He could feel himself shutting down inside. He went blind. He knew that now there was very little chance of his survival, that death in the Entry Plug would almost certainly be the end of their adventure.

So he retreated into his Evangelion, embracing Unit-02 closer and closer. CLOSER!
But already it had become impossible to think of it as separate from himself. His fear was quickly swallowed up in a sense of awe which made his personal fate seem wholly insignificant. He could not feel that he was going to die in the Plug. He felt almost the opposite - Life was waiting in the Eva, outside the little metal shell in which he rode, ready at any moment to break in, and that if it killed him, it would kill him by its vitality. He hoped passionately that if he were to perish, he would perish by the unbodying of the physical and not by suffocation within it. To be let out, to be set free, to dissolve into the ocean eternal, seemed to him now a consummation even more desirable than to return to his life.

Synch Ratio: 170%

And then he was gone.

Unit-02's jaws wrenched open. It roared a deafening noise and charged at Grim's Eva. Arms twisted in their sockets. Bones were split in Big Sis's teeth.
[hr]

But the men of SEELE were also observing the battlefield, and something else was coming. From the air, a hum of rocket engines sang out.

Some new force arriving on scene. In the Entry Plugs, the message:

Do not shoot, but listen.
Lead us against what threatens you.
Together, we can halt what he has set in motion.

---

Naatiel is hurt by Pollux and Rev. Piggy LCL's inside his Evangelion. It berserks and mauls Unit-03. Seele sends the MP series to stop Owen. Seele speaks to the pilots through their plugs, telling them that the MPEs are their allies.

Nephilim and The Midnight stood their ground, facing their fellow abominations down. The Eva looked worse for wear. But that was only an illusion. The real state of the battle was quite less in the favor of the thing that was formerly Owen than an onlooker would think. For its greatest weapon had been taken from it.

The moment it was born, Nephilim had learned. Learned of the vast power it held, to reach into one's mind, and snap it like a twig. These Lilim were weak, fragile. They broke easily. But this beast, this Eva, was different. When it tried to reach into its mind, it found a mind it had no expected. A mind like its own. The Midnight had felt no effects from its assault, and indeed had responded with greater ferocity. But it was a special creature. A second being was inside of it, something Nephilim knew was a Lilim. Those, he could break.

He had reached his tendrils within, to snap it, but what he found was no Lilim he knew. There was no body there to break, and there was no mind to twist, warp and wring. All he found was will. A will stronger than any he had seen yet in the Lilim. He pushed against it, but it would not budge. He tried to snap it, but it pushed back with equal force. Then it did something. Not quite speaking, but a message nonetheless.

"You can NOT."

The Midnight roared. A message only an Eva could know. Then, the others dived on Nephilim. Strange, flying creatures vaguely resembling The Midnight dove from above, lancing through the flesh of the creature. As it roared and retaliated, Unit-27 jumped over and behind it. It had no more need to waste its time. It had an enemy it truly wished to face. Naatiel.

The Angel swung its scythe down at Pollux, but it never found its mark. Instead, it was caught in the hands of Rev-27, who roared in indignation that the thing would DARE attack its ally. Its brother. Its friend. Even with its Little One all but gone, it would honor his wishes. It would save everyone. A declaration was made, in a way only those born of Adam could understand.

On this day, no more Lilim would die. Not a single one.

The Midnight opened its mouth and clamped down on the scythe with its blunt teeth, shaking and tearing before crudely ripping the appendage off of the Angel. It opened its maw and dropped the bleeding thing to the floor before leaping directly into its underbelly, slashing away with the fury of a devil.

Nephilim is unable to assault The Midnight's mind, and the fragments of Rev's are so insane and honed to battle that by now they are all but impenetrable to it. Unit-27 then calls down MPE's on the beast, before moving on to save Alexander from Naatiel's strike. It declares to the Angel that for Rev's sake, it would not allow any more Lilim to be killed. It then rips off one of the Angel's scythes and attacks from below.

As always, if this is too OP let me know.

Nephilim could not comprehend, why did they continue? They were weak, meaningless little creatures before a god, how could they resist? why would they bother to try? Nephilim stood firm before the combined fury of the Angel, it's Spawn, and the Evangelions. Nephilim felt as though he once knew why, but could not place it, like it had been forgotten long ago leaving only the sense of Déjà vu in it's place. It was so very... strange.

As the attacks began to annoy him, he turned his head skyward; he would show them how pointless their struggle was. Nephilim opened his twisted maw and let loose a gibbering call that could only be interpreted as blasphemous. As he did so, a halo formed from the aether. The air seemed to shimmer and contort around it as it formed, as though reality were amending itself to the will of the aberration. . Unlike the halo was a jagged, angular ring that bewildered they eyes of the unprotected. The angel and it's spawn took a slight back step; perhaps at the sense of wrongness that the halo created.

Or perhaps it sense the danger. with one final grotesque word, the halo ceased to be and in it's place was a massive blast of force. it flattened what was left of the battleground and everything that had not been secured was thrown some distance away.

Having bought itself a moment of peace, Nephilim reached into the last remnants of Abaddon and grasped hold of the remaining angelic-cores and prototype Evangelion corpses; still within reach only because they had been sheltered in they eye of the storm; consuming them in one giant bite. Yet, he was unsatisfied. Nephilim formed a disturbing smile with his abominable mouth. He wanted fresh meat, and he knew just where to get it.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Alastor stood, shaking off the effects of the blast. The resonance armor had done it's job; he had been left with only the slightest of scratches. Glancing around the now leveled field, he could see the Evangelions already rising, their A.T. Fields having protected them from the brunt of the blow; the Angel already starting it's next assault.

Alastor sighed. The blast had proved on thing; as Owen had feared, the transformation had robbed the beast of it's reason. He'd had fun toying with the pilots, pretending to be their fallen colleague but now he needed to do his job. Alastor rose to his feet and made his way in the direction of Nephilim.

He made it about halfway before Unit-02 caught up, Unit-09 a few Evangelion-sized steps behind. [b/]"I guess I will have to deal with them first"[/b] he muttered to himself, before raising the A.T.R.G. in the direction of Unit-02 and firing.

Nephilim blasts everyone away, finishes eating the contents of Abaddon, and gets ready to start eating Evangelions and Angels. Alastor plans to return Owen's mind to him, but is stopped by Piggy and Addison before he can make it. He takes a shot at Unit-02 with the A.T.R.G.

Sorry for the delay, work sucks

Pollux landed on the ground with a smug grin of satisfaction. He noticed the patches of ice forming under his eva's feet, holding it down as Owen let out a shockwave. Pollux was pushed back a bit, but still held to the ground. It was a cool trick, the temperature manipulation, and Pollux began to wonder how low he could go. That last hit was bound to keep the angel down for a bit. or at least its A.T field. He looked over the battlefield, Addison engaged with the Unit-03 and Miss Leonidas fighting Owen/Nephilim.

"Wait, where the hell is Rev?" Pollux looked straight ahead and saw Unit-27 running straight at him. Why the heck is he doing that? Has he lost his own marbles. Suddenly a glowing axe-like structure came swooping down towards Pollux, but Rev caught it, now face-to-face with the other pilot.

"Rev, what the hell are you do-" Suddenly unit-27 bit down on something and tore off the angel's axe. He then jumped on the angel and began tearing through it, like a furious demon.

"Geez, Rev is too powerful, too angry in this form. How high had his synch ratio been when they launched him? Hmmm, guess it doesn't realy matter, all that does is beating Nephilim and Grim-"

Pollux looked over to see Unit-03 being pursued by Piggy and Addison, who appeared to be holding a strange gun. A familiar gun.

"Grim has another A.T.R.G.?!"

And as Unit-03 fired, Pollux realized it was pointed directly at Rev. Rev had just saved Pollux from a sneak attack, he wasn't gonna let the him go down. Not now. Pollux jumped in front of the raging Rev and put Unit-31's forearms together and held them up, completing the two sides of the constellation.

"Like hell you're taking him out! Gemini-"

His A.T field focused on around the constellation, and strengthened, preparing for the assault.

"Defen-"

Pollux was cut short as the blast pushed his own A.T field inward, screeching unit-31's feet across the ground. The shield was cracking, it was gonna hold up.

"G-Gotta do s-s-something quick!" The temperature in his entry plug dropped a bit. The outer edges of the shield began to freeze, moving inward. Unit-31 was on its knees trying to absorb the blast, being pushed back towards Rev, who was completely oblivious to the ordeal in his rampage. Pollux wasn't gonna let him get hit, and he as hell wasn't gonna let himself get hit by an A.T field powered weapon. The ice reached the center of the shield, near the energy being shot at them.

"Gemini Snow Fort Defense!" The ice reached the center and suddenly the edges of the shield flared out, the bottom edges embedding themselves into the ground and the upper ones extended the height of the shield while bending in slightly, forming a small canopy. The blast was focused through the ice and shot straight into the night sky, lighting it up as if it were day time. Rev continued to wail on the angel. Pollux looked over slightly worried.

"Man, I wonder if there still is a pilot in there."

Suddenly everything stopped, as the angel let out a blue light. Rev suddenly came flying to Pollux's side, embedded into the wall by blue glowing spikes. The eva let out a roar and over the comm, Pollux could hear the pilot screaming. Pollux attempted to dodge the next attack, but suddenly realized that during his selfless task, he'd trapped himself against a wall. A set of blue spikes pinned Pollux to the wall he wailed his to his hearts content.

"This is the second worst kind of pain!"

The angel began to charge another attack. Even with him and Rev dealing with their own problems, he could only imagine whatever nightmare the other pilots were dealing with. When Pollux finally calmed a bit, heavy breathing and all, he simply uttered these words.

"W-why does nothing good ever happen when I fight!"

They pilots were blown back, the ice shattering in a glittering light. The angel was regaining strength, Pollux's attack had kept it naked while Rev had weared it down to the point of death. Yet it was still ready to fight, andn it was beginning to rebuild its A.T field. Pollux attempted to keep it weakened, waiting for either Rev to get up or someone to come to their, aid.

Rev saves Pollux, who realizes that Alastor is taking aim. Pollux deflects the blast, but traps Rev and him in the process, with a pissed off angel tired of deal with this shit. Leonidas is dealing with Nephilim/Owen while Piggy and Addison attempt to take down Unit-03.

The scything arm bucked and cracked. Mirrored chitin, lit with color and emotion peeled back under the Eva's huge fingers. And then it was torn off, ripped from Naatiel's body and sent sprawling across the ground, leaving a crater where it landed. The Eva was drenched with it's strange fluid, which was not blood but some clear, watery substance that immediately began to harden and seal at the site of the wound. Unit-27's (or Midnight's) rage turned to passion, to exhilaration. It caught a brief glimpse of the core before Naatiel rose high in the air.

Unit-02 charged facefirst into a shot from the resonance gun. Her A.T. field was drawn inwards around it, synching, turning against herself. The shot's payload turned her armored face into a melted slag heap. It went straight through her; the lower jaw was blown loose, throat laid open, right shoulder destroyed and right arm hurled across the street.

Big Sis dropped, rolling to crush and obliterate everything beneath it. A red trail blanketed the wreckage. Her berserk charge was halted, the A.T. Field slowly coming back. She saw the creature fighting Unit-09 and lifted an arm to spread her A.T. Field, but was too weak from the resonance of the hit.

But perhaps some element of Piggy remained- something that made Unit-02 more than a raging animal. For she remembered the positron cannon, still plugged into it's cable, dropped a few hundred meters away. The Eva didn't truly know what it was, but the pilot's soul had placed great importance on it. She still felt an imprint of the synching- whatever it was, it was beautiful. Unit-02 held her remaining arm out. Nothing happened. But brought on by fury and determination, she strained, throwing more and more power until her muscle fibers stretched the polymer sheathing and the veins burst in her eyes.

Slowly at first, with an awful grinding sound, the weapon began to vibrate and come away by itself. Concrete and rock buckled under it's immense weight. The positron cannon- close to a thousand tons, slid to carve a massive trench in the Earth. And finally, hauling with all her might, the Evangelion bellowed a wordless war cry, which turned into a joyous outburst of savage victory as the cannon flew towards her under her efforts.

She caught the handle on top of the the gun and braced herself, leaning it between her legs, and finally got hold of the latch and charging a shot.

Alastor didn't see it coming. The Eva pulled the enormous trigger and-

A fury of antimatter-electrons leaped from the barrel, blowing into the renegade. The effect was huge, the explosion monstrous. Unit-03's torso gave out, a fountain of blood and flaming organs erupting outwards. Blood ran in rivers.

But there was something else inside it, some powerful creature that was trying to pull free from the mass. She knew because she could feel its intelligence and awareness... and absolute surprise.

[hr]

Already, the beast's mass was entering the tunnels that the armored trains streamed out of only minutes before. They passed into the lower facility, past control stations and into the environmentally-controlled chamber that held the magi computers. The moment they detected an Angelic signature this deep in the base, they released the now-armed N2 mines and announced that the end was near.

Code:
Self-destruct sequence now active.
Minimum safe distance- 975 meters.
30 seconds until initial detonation.
---

Those Mass Produced Evas not blown back by the Laurence-beast kept fighting. The False Lance was still in beta testing, so they had to be sent with monomolecular swords and battle rifles. But there was one weapon that was far more dangerous- an N2 warhead. Seele hadn't known how much area the director's A.T. Field would cover. So rather than launch an ICBM at Masau, the Eva had to penetrate the zone, plant their weapons, and destroy all trace of Nerv West Africa.

Unit-02 attacked the MPE's, grappling over live warheads. It had felt Unit-27's imperative. Protect the City. Protect Earth and humans. Everything that the pilots had loved, all the people with their own stories and futures. Save them.

But it's doomsday for Nerv.

Naatiel has a limb ripped off. Unit-02 gets hit with the resonance gun, neutralizing the A.T. Field and losing it's jaw, half of it's throat, and right shoulder. She goes down, too weak to do anything. She strains, and with the Absolute Territory moves the positron cannon into her grasp. Unit-03 is destroyed by it. Alastor tries to free itself from the plug. The MPE's arm their N2 mines to wipe the city, while the magi sense Owen, causing Nerv HQ to arm itself for annihilation. Unit-02 goes after the MPEs to stop it from destroying New Masau and killing tens of millions of people.

Lisa had no idea where to aim.

Chris' Eva, his destroyed Eva, was fighting them. Two angels, one of them formerly Owen, were laying siege to the city. The Mass Produced Eva's that she had heard about, the ones that would make her job exponentially easier, fighting Angels by her side, were preparing to destroy the city. Four credible threats that required a team of Eva pilots to deal with each of them. There were five Eva pilots deployed. How could they do anything? Rev was constantly berserking, which worried Lisa. She didn't want any of her pilots to LCL on her, they still had more to fight for! It would take some manipulation, but there had to be a way to win. There was always a way.

That was when Unit 002's jaw unhinged.

Lisa was taught about this in her training. The ultimate berserking of an Eva, the complete release of its soul. At this point the pilot had no control, the Eva called all the shots. It might not be able to tell friend from foe. For all intents and purposes, it could be another threat. Fortunately for them all, that proved to be untrue when it destroyed Unit 003 and targeted the MPEs.

"Shit, Nikolai, I don't know what you're doing, but keep it up! Keep those Evas pinned!" she called merrily through the comm. "Pollux, on me! We're going for Dr. Laurence! Rev, you and Addison handle the other angel!" The four pilots swiftly acted, Rev going for a melee skirmish against Naatiel while Addison provided long range support. Lisa then picked up her Positron Rifle. "Now, Pollux, keep that thing's A.T. Field from reforming. I'm going to give a fully charged shot to this monster. With this kind of rifle, it should take thirty seconds to charge. So stay alive until then and get the fuck out of the way when I tell you to, got it?"

A hushed "alright," was all she got in response. All of the pilots were obviously shaken by the many horrors they were facing. Most disturbed of all had to be Piggy, he didn't even acknowledge her orders. "A little respect would be nice..." she muttered to herself. The Coffin dropped to one knee and took aim. She only had one shot, she had to make it count. 30 seconds.

Alastor crawled from the wreckage of his Evangelion, the body of his host broken and bleeding. He could feel the pilot was not long for this world. Alastor grasped his arm, stanching the bleeding wound, and continued his charge toward Nephilim. It was a futile task for even from this distance he could hear the countdown on the N2 mines - even he could not survive an N2 explosion without an Eva to augment his A.T. Field. and he was too far to reach the monster physically. He glanced back at the Evangelions, already in hot pursuit and gaining with a speed that was impressive even for an Evangelion.

It mattered little: he had failed. Nephilim would just continue to eat until he had exhausted his power, then be killed with the greatest of ease. Even if Nephilim managed to destroy the Evangelions and the angels, it would simply starve to death before it could accomplish their goal. Alastor took a few more struggling steps forward before Grim's legs gave out, his knee making a sickening crack as he fell. "It's over" He thought.

Just as Alastor was about to give up and embrace unconsciousness, he felt it. It was close, barely noticeable among the chaos of the surrounding battle, but present. He could feel his opposite, the Tattletale that lived in the pilot. But, rather than resting in the mind of his host, he had over-extended himself, reaching into the mind of Nephilim. If he could attack the creature, and use it to awaken Owen, the plan could still succeed. All he needed to do was delay the Evangelions and his own death for a few moments.

And he had just to tool for it. With the last ounces of strength within Grim, Alastor reached to the side of his plug suit and enacted the final defense - the Narcissus project. sparing a moment to confirm the results, he could see the A.T. fields of the Evangelions begin to warp, turning in on themselves to paralyze the Angelic clones. The MPE's continued their assault, as did the Angel, but they were paying him little mind. Looking over the twisting Fields, he estimated in the best case, it would only buy him a few seconds, but that was all he needed.

Reaching out with his mind, he pinpointed the alien mind, Castor, and with the last of his angelic strength, attacked his mental fortifications like a battering ram.

"T minus 25 seconds" the siren blared.

Alastor uses the last of Grim's strength to delay the Evangelions so he can make one final mental assault on Castor.

"No, no, no, no, no-you can't get into the head of someone inside someone's head!"

Castor tried to resist Alastor's attack, his defenses wearing down, but took the brunt of the assault. He was naked, vulnerable. Things were going to hell real fast. Miss Leonidas had been attempting to take a shot at the angel, to finally see if they could take it down without it's A.T. field, but Grim had done something. Alastor had done something. The pilots were paralyzed, their eva's weren't responding and they were in unbelievable pain. The Narcissus Containment System was activated, and there wasn't a damn thing he could do about it. But one thing, one tiny piece of hope Castor realized was staring him in the face. Unit-03 was blocking him out, wasn't screaming with jumbled thoughts. If Alastor wants to take Castor down, he's gonna have to fight for it. Castor acted quickly as he jumped into the dead mind of Chris Gannon, butting heads with Alastor. The two were locked in combat, a flurry of thoughts passing between them, trying to wear the other down. Casto wasn't going down, he was gonna finish this.

"Alright fucker, you've been a thorn in my side for way too long. I'm gonna deal with you once and for all, Alastor. Or should I call you Kemmuel. Listen, I don't know how SEELE brought you back, or how they're even using you, but you're staying dead this time, you wiley bastard!" Castor could feel it, he was the angel from before, the one he'd thought with for dominance in Pollux's mind. But he didn't seem to realize that. Alastor pushed Castor back, and Castor could feel a minor hint of confusion coming from Alastor. Was it Castor's similar appearance to Pollux, the fact Castor could fight back, or that Alastor didn't know who he once was? Known of that mattered to Castor, all he wanted was Alastor gone. And Alastor felt the same, vice versa.

"I know of that brother, but I am not him! Enough with these distractions, Tattle tale! You over-extended yourself, Tattletale and now I shall use you for my own purposes."Alastor lashed out at Castor, attempting to take control and use his own conscious as a tool to give Owen control through. Somewhere in Owen's mind, he was still human and he needed to Castor to activate him.

"Like hell I'll help you!" Castor thought about the other pilots and began to change. He was an eva, Unit-31. He was soon towering over Alastor and attempted to crush him, but suddenly the mental image faltered and Castor fell plummeting to the bottom of Grim's dead mind. Alastor was above Castor, observing his difficulties. Castor's image was flikering. Unit-31's A.T wasn't operating correctly, and it wouldn't be able to keep Castor around for long. Castor attempted to tune into the other evas, but they were all in the same situation.

"It appears whatever is holding you here, is losing strength. I must act quickly!" Alastor hauled Castor up quickly, pushing him into Owen's monstrous mind. He attempted to break free, but was too weak. Suddenly, Castor felt himself slammed into something. It was a mental projection of an entry plug. And inside was the doctor turned monster, Owen Laurence. Alastor slammed Castor's head against the plug until Owen's eyes fluttered open. Castor was phased through the glass, and found himself phasing into Owen. He was thrashing around trying to resist, but just couldn't. He was being linked to Owen, about to be awaken his mind. Castor tried to resist, he wasn't gonna betray the team, but he chuckled a bit and began to give in. But not without a few last words as one of the good guys.

"Alright, you want me, you can have me! In fact, I hope Owen takes control so he can fully feel the asswhooping he's gonna get. They may not know me, but I know the people in those evas, hell I know the evas too! They aren't as weak as you think they are, they will resist, and they will beat you! So, go good luck you traitorous bastard. Enjoy your meal while you can, because you're as good as dea-"

Suddenly he was gone, now powering Owen's mind. He still tried to fight back, still conscious, but Owen was using him. He had no control. Owen was no conscious, he could truly access his powers and fight to the fullest. He could truly enjoy the destruction around him. As Alastor pulled out, exhausting the last of his strength, a strange sound escaped from Owen's monstrous mouth.

Laughter.

The woman dragged herself across the rubble, surrounded by bloody, crushed bodies. Her legs were broken in so many places they were practically dust. She didn't care, she ignored the pain, her fury and anger driving her on as she lugged a small box of tools along with her.

"You piece of shit..."

Dr. Shelley made her way over to a command room and found a mostly intact console. She could feel herself losing consciousness and had to act quickly. This wire connected to that wire, unscrew this panel, solder this circuit, and then some. Her hands were a blur, frantically trying to stay focused and waiting for some sign of operation from the monitors. A quick spark flew over her head from a few circuit boards and suddenly a dim green glow emitted from the screens. Bingo.

The weapons locked away from the world. Her hands flew across the keyboard, activating the weapon, running diagnostic check, releasing all safety measures. It was still as dangerous as the day it was locked away.

A hanger door opened. There was a large hazardous material sign over the slowly opening door. Off to the side, a small noticed explained how the contents inside were rejected. It read:

Rejected Prototype
Model:003
Type:Hybrid
Weapon Name: Absolute Territory Resonance Gun
Reasons for Rejection: "Too Lively"
Noted by: Dr.Owen Laurence

The hanger doors weren't fully opened when the creature caught light, let out a roar and charged through the hanger. It looked left and right for a few seconds, not even bothering to find a lift, before it began to burrow through the roof above it. It was ready to fight something. Dr.Shelly heard its roar

"Hehe, Dr.Laurence was fond of that thing." She chuckled a bit, coughing up blood. Her hands slid off the console.

"Alright you bastard, you traitor! I'm not letting you destroy the world, not you or your angel friend!"[its power, its hostility! For tipping the scale!"

She fell back, look up at the ceiling surrounded by a dim green glow.

"Your greatest tool, shall be your downfall!"

As she faded she managed to utter these final words.

"It's actually pretty funny Owen. You were actually kinda cute."

She looked at a blurry camera feed of his monstrous self laughing.

"Heh, you still kinda are."

And she was gone.

"Castor is assimilated into Owen and Owen gains his mind again, along with control of his body. Meanwhile, Dr. Shelley uses her finally dying actions to send a few powerful, banned, weapons to the pilots.

Everything was coming undone. There were only seconds left. Seconds before the N2 Mines detonated, and all life in New Masau was gone. Extinguished, burnt out. The Midnight Beast that was once Unit-27 knew many words from the thoughts of its Little One. But right now they all described utter, unfailing destruction. Even as the beast struggled to take a single, solitary step, the pain came down upon it. Something, some device, or perhaps the will of God itself had turned its own constantly growing strength against it. A pressure greater than any the thing had ever felt pushed in from all sides. Its AT Field, powers of ten greater than its siblings already, was now directed toward it. Blood leaked from its mouth as it groaned in agony. Some of it could even be mistaken for tears.

It had failed. Even with all of its might, the beast had failed its Little One. It had sworn, in its way, to protect them all. Now it could not save it a single, solitary Lilim. Its thoughts were not like a human's, its thought patterns shared only the barest resemblance to our own. But even then it could still feel sorrow, regret, perhaps even shame.

20 seconds

It gave up. The Field pushed harder and harder around it, ready to either crush its bones or tear it to shreds. There was nothing more it could do. It could not even save one life.

one life

A pressure pushed back. Against the AT Field. The Midnight stood once more, bolstered. A presence it had not sensed before was rushing through its veins, urging it to stand. Ordering it. Its Little One was dead, but he was not gone. The AT Field began to flux and ebb with erratic, chaotic motions. Around Unit-27, the world was shattering as the sheer power behind it overcame the device meant to nullify this very effect. Its body began to destabilize from the sheer torment of it. Its left arm came unthreaded, and fell to the ground a tangle of stringy flesh and crumpled armor. Its left leg nearly bent backwards from a sudden influx of pressure, dislocating its knee. The beast roared in defiance, and snapped its leg back into position. It began to move. A step, then a leap, and a run. It landed, of all places, in front of the beast Nephilim. It could not kill the Angel. Not like this. But this abomination, one way or another it needed to die.

Unit-27 wrapped its arm tightly around Nephilim, biting into its rotting flesh as a further security measure. Then, the Fields broke. A storm of AT energy whipped all around, the earth itself waving and crumpling and unfolding all about as the beast crouched. Great prisms surrounded the N2 Mines and brought it close around the Eva and its prey. The Midnight unhinged its jaw and roared. A terrible, loud roar that all could make out. And yet it was so decidedly wrong. The voice that came out was not an Eva's. It was Rev's. A terrible, unyielding shriek of rage, agony, sorrow, love, and unbridled hope from a 15-year old boy that did not cease, even as he should have stopped for breath.

That was when they realized he no longer required breath. He had dissipated into the being of Unit-27, and they were one.

The Midnight jumped. It jumped as high into the air as it could, still screaming, as it and its payload of mines soared higher and higher into the sky, perhaps even kilometers passing by as the range of the explosives slipped further and further away from the city, leaving the only targets as itself, and the horrid beast it clutched in its arm.

Unit-27, in a final attempt to satisfy the wish of its pilot, defies the countermeasure device and tears itself to shreds to reach Nephilim, pull the N2 Mines to its body with its AT Field control, and grab them all before jumping as high into the sky as it possibly could to keep the mines from detonating in range of New Masau. The other pilots hear Rev's voice coming from the Eva, and realize that he has LCL'ed.

Addison wanted to vomit, she wanted to purge what had happened to her fellow pilots and undoubtedly the situation around her. Piggy and Rev had LCL'd, the monstrosities were still roaming free and the world they knew was about to end. Addison was crippled, unable to move and unable to grasp the situation. She was paralyzed as the world around her slowly descended into chaos.

It was all or nothing here and with the Midnight going headfirst into the Angel, Addison could only watch. She tried to move but it was all hard not to watch. Addison was frustrated, hating herself every moment she didn't do anything. Then she acted, as soon as Pollux and Revmade it available for her to do so. She made a note in her head, to thank him for everything that he's done and everything that he's going to do.

Unit-09's limber legs propelled itself through the broken landscape where the earth itself had opened before them and hell was escaping. She was far enough. Far enough to get as much momentum as possible. As they built up speed, Addison removed the massive railgun from her shoulder but she still kept it in one hand. In the other, she drew her Core Knife The ground beneath its feet trembled and rocked as her steps moved faster and faster. Clouds of dust and debris was getting thrown behind her. Sound itself seemed to fade out as she reached the peak of how far she could push Unit-09 to run. Her target's A.T. field was broken once Rev had jumped high into the sky. She hoped that it was too preoccupied before they will reach it and it was very soon. Then in one motion she placed the knife into the barrel of the railgun despite the tight fit.

Unit-09 held the railgun with both its large hands with one finger on the trigger. He gripped it like a large spear with the pointed tip facing towards Nephilim. At the last few moments, the monster turned to face Addison, seeing at what she was about to do. It was suicide.

"RRRRAAAAAAGGGHHHHHHH-" Addison yelled in fury as she brought the railgun forward and into Nephilim. The two collided with a loud smack which could be heard for miles. Unit-09 brought the arms upwards so the barrel met the sky. The monstrosity clawed at the EVA while the railgun groaned with stress. The monster was suspended in the sky while the Core Knife did its job. With its A.T. field gone the knife plunged into the monster then breaking into their own separate cutting machines and burrowing in their own separate directions.

"Override -ugh- Railgun safety algorithms. Engage manual control!" Nephillim's claw met Unit-09's face opening its mask and shredding its nose. Immense pain fell over Addison but she had to continue. "FIRE!"

A bright light filled with energy cut through Nephillim and pierced the heavens just as Rev was making his approach. It ran past him and into Naatiel resulting in an enormous blast. The crystal-like structure of its A.T. field cracked and segmented from the blast allowing Rev a better chance up there.

Down here, the recoil of the railgun ripped into Unit-09's arms. It shattered both bone and flesh as the recoil reverberated throughout. The gun fell over broken by both the recoil and the weight of the monster and Unit-09 fell backwards. Addison looked up and raised her hands only to see her arms ripped off from the elbows down.

Unit-09 sees a chance to strike two birds with one stone in a near suicidal charge. She impales Nephillim after attaching her core knife to the barrel then fires the railgun at Naatiel which is still above them. Both her arms are severely damaged due to firing the railgun without any sort of support.

The sensation of reawakening to consciousness in a different form defies explanation. To suddenly feel limbs that you have no words for, and find your perspective changed; it is bizarre without reason. The strangest aspect was perhaps the lack of eyes. He had the sense of sight, of a sort, via A.T. Field but it lacked the same resolution and depth of his natural eyes. Yet, in a way they could see more. He could see souls; their intentions, their desires, their hopes, their dreams, their happiness and sorrows, their concerns and their fears as easily as he had once seen creation. What had once been complex beyond fathom now seemed elementary. All the questions of existence, of what it was to be alive, to be sentient, seemed so far away as to be unreachable. Owen became sharply aware of his own contrast: a mortal mind in the body of a god. Suddenly, he could understand. Humans, Angels, even the Evangelions; they were all the same through the lens of the A.T. Field. Existing, and fighting to maintain that state no matter the cost. It pitted them against each other, not so much out of malice and hate as he was driven, or by the hope for a better tomorrow like the Lillim, or of the abstract, alien desires of the angels, but by nature. They were all like animals. They fought, tooth and nail because their nature demanded it of them; because existence, whether brought about by evolution or creation or chance, said "I must survive" It was breath taking, beautiful, elegant and miraculous. It was frightening and soothing and touching and awe inspiring and maddening in a way that both humans and angels could never grasp and it was his role to be the sole observer as the only being of both mortal and immortal construct. He saw existence itself.

And it was his right and duty to end it in fire and war. For existence was a cruel mistress, devoid of morality and fairness. It pitted them against each other for no other reason than because it could. If existence were forged by chance, than luck had never, would never, and could never side with them; human and angel alike. If it were evolution, than it was a mistake of the grandest proportion. And if it were a god or gods, than they were so malicious and scornful that he would see to it that when he reached the afterlife he would crush them with his bare hands for their crimes against their own creation. Even creation itself would not be spared, for like it's creator it lacked morality. each action caused another harm, always doing more harm than good, escalating until the tension exploded and all would move against each other, all believing themselves fighting for the side of good against the hordes of evil; never realizing that all merely propagated evil further and faster. Even inaction lead to hate; the cycle was unending and inevitable save one solution: to end it all; the pointless, merciless game of continuance.

His field extended further than any could understand. He was omniscient in a way, yet blind; for though he saw all that was happening and happened, he could not see what the future held. He had always believed as a mortal that if you knew everything that had ever been and was, than the future would be like a book, reading action and reaction forward eternal, yet he found himself blind in that respect, more blind than he had ever been as a mortal. For both the Angels and humanity defied reason. they would make judgements that were impossible to reason for one was as likely as another.

Owens existential understanding would have continued, for centuries upon centuries, upon millennium until all had faded away into non-existence but he was drew him from his thoughts by a combination of pain and vertigo. the pain came from one such as he had been: the one called Addison, who fought to be free of judgement, and hoped that by that freedom life would finally be real to her - never understanding that freedom and reality as she understood it was a lie. The vertigo came from Rev, who in his berserk state only seemed to have a desire to protect the remaining inhabitants of the city below, never stopping to think that he only prolonged their suffering for his own consciousness, as he launched them into the stratosphere. Owen wondered how many of the people below would have wished to die in the blast he was taking up with them.

He could sense that another pilot, Lisa, lived such a miserable existence, burying herself in the pleasures of the flesh to escape he past; a desire Owen once understood when he was mortal. From Aiber he could sense the disconnect from his father, his hopes resembling those of Addisons. Pollux seemed only concerned with continuing to exist himself, distracted by his own mental contamination. He sensed a desire for Addison within him, perhaps the only feeling he could not understand in his new form. Piggy seemed to care only for the Eva he piloted and in doing so risked the lives of everyone else he cared for.

He could even feel the fading mind of Grim, filled with a desire to have lived and to have proved himself. For this, Owen regretted. He should have allowed the poor creature to pass and not intruded into his life. Within him, fe felt the fading mind of Alastor, the last reserves of his strength spent. From him he could feel something he understood best: hate. His hate had pushed him to destroy Seele even at the cost of his own existence and of everyone else; never realizing that in doing so he would grant Seele a boon.

From the Evangelions he felt baser desires: to destroy, to protect, to continue. They were simple and yet in many ways they were the most respectable of them all. they knew as he did of the costs of existence, at least unconsciously for they to were of the same breed as he: half angel half mortal. They moved forward even knowing it was wrong to do so, because there was nothing else they could do. He pitied them.

The angel and it's spawn defied words, for they knew existence in a way even he could not grasp, but they lacked the mortal perspective of desire. They did what they did because they could and should and must: like a human must breath, even when they wish to die - their existence was perhaps the saddest and most glorious of all.

Suddenly, the feeling of force slowed, and through his A.T. Field he could "see" the stars and planets, making up clusters, and nebula's, becoming galaxies, all of which were bright dots of life and energy reaching across eternity.

He glanced at the bombs that The Evangelion had brought with him, moments were left before they went off. Using his strength, he grabbed hold of the Evangelion that had brought him here and, lacking malice or compassion, flung him toward the ground.

He laughed as the bombs, their massive yield carrying a force to rival the stars above, exploded; [i/]"They would not stop me"[/i] he thought.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The light from the blasts was blinding. It made burned with the luminescence of a million stars, each exploding before his eyes. Alastor had nothing else to do but watch in horror as his machinations failed even as his life faded before him. Seele had won; and upon his unmarked grave in one of their many holes they would laugh at his arrogance. He began to close his eyes, ready to pass into the void beyond death. As the light faded, and serenity of cessation started to take him, he glanced up one last time and smiled. There, floating above the earth was Nephilim, damaged to a degree that seemed unreal, but still intact. Around him a ball of light was growing. Alastor's smile grew. Nephilim was readying his plan. He would destroy himself with all the power he had gained and from his sacrifice, the universe would be baptized in fire and death. It would be the end of everything. with a coughing laugh at their apparent victory, he faded into the void, his life snuffed moments before the end of everything.

Nephilim/Owen goes philosophical on himself, gets launched into orbit by Rev,and the N2 mines go off in Nephilim's face (after he throws Rev at the earth like a football). Nephilim is severely damaged by the blast but survives. Alastor watches as Nephilim/Owen gets set to self-destruct and take the universe with him before Alastor fades into death.

Okay, well whatever happens after this is going to kill Nephilim/Owen because I'm totally ready to watch him burn up in a blaze of glory. For the equality of coolness, I hope you come up with a way to kill me in a strikingly awesome way with everyone involved because that's how final boss fights should be. I personally vote for the hack that Naut just pulled with the A.T.R.G. version 3.0. I do this for three reasons: 1) The use of the Dr. Shelley NPC I used to set this up was brilliant and completely unforeseen on my part, 2) I figure everyone can throw A.T. Field power into the gun to make it an even more powerful deus ex machina than I had ever thought possible and giving everyone a piece in the final strike, and 3) because their is unreasonable amounts of irony in killing Owen with his [u/]own[/u] gun.

Just my suggestion though so whatever.

Also, if any of you have any problems with the character motivations I put in above, please let me know. I was just doing my best to guess from my understanding of prior posts and I will change them upon request. (you know your own characters far better than I do)

The sound of the girders releasing could be heard throughout the station. The clang of them snapping into place followed quickly after.

Then the powerful voice of a man with no human sympathy rang out over the intercom of the flying launch station as he wiped the blood of two men from his hands.

"Operation Hammer of God launching in 3...2...1!"

The sound of 5 massive jet engines firing rocked the station floating just barely inside earth's atmosphere. Pillars of flame fired from the large metal cocoon in the launch bay and it rocketed downward like a comet, heading straight for the airborne Naatiel.

Two Hours Ago

"Untie me you fucking piece of shit!" Aiber yelled to the man sitting opposite him with a gun.

The two of them and the pilot of the air craft were rapidly approaching the orbital station code named "Bethlehem".

"Forty five seconds 'till dock." called the pilot.

The man with the gun stood up and took something out of his pocket then began to approach Aiber.

"Get the fuck away from me!" the young man shouted as he desperately squirmed away from the man.

The man with the gun was large and he strong, wide hands. He gripped Aiber's head like a basket ball and stuck the syringe from his pocket into his neck. Aiber squirmed for a moment more before going limp and falling unconscious.

"Approaching dock." The pilot said calmly.

Present

The reinforced cocoon struck the Angel in mid air while approaching the sound barrier. There was a wave of air and a massive crash as the multi-ton chunk of burning metal collided with the destructive alien, and every eye above ground turned to look.

The shell forced the monster back to earth, crashing just outside the city with a force so large that it made a crater the size of a lake. The angel could be heard struggling to free it'self from the massive weight on top of it, then, the cocoon cracked open.

One And A Half Hours Ago

Aiber jolted back into consciousness but slammed back down onto the cold metal table under him due to the straps holding him to it. He felt sick and suddenly turned his head to the side in time to vomit off the side of the table. Then he noticed the three surgeons on the other side of the room. They were preparing tools and putting on gloves, obviously preparing to cut someone open.

"Grrruuuh, raahh! Let me out of here! Where the fuck am I? Who are you fuckers?!"

He snarled and shouted and pulled at his restrains but it was no use.

So this is how it ends. I spend my life training to fight giant aliens and I end up going out on a lab table...

Then the door slid open and Colonel William Blake stepped in.

"Just relax Aiber, there is no point in fighting it." he said matter-of-factly.

Aiber roared with rage and pulled at his bonds with all his strength, he felt his skin being torn but he didn't care.

"YOU FUCKING BASTARD! I SHOULD'VE KNOWN IT WAS YOU, YOU FUCKING SOULLESS BASTARD!"

"They are going to put a device in your brain, much like an entry plug, then you will be put into unit 7.6 and we will control you remotely. It is our best hope at defeating the last Angel." he replied calmly.

"Sir, step back, I'll sedate him." one of the surgeons said.

"No no, that's allright. I want to speak with him alone." The Colonel responded.

The surgeons left the room and left Blake looking over Aiber's prone form. His clothes had been stripped except for his boxers, he was under a bright light and he could still feel the vomit in his throat. It was undignified and undoubtably Aiber's weakest moment in front of the man he called father.

The Colonel opened his mouth to speak, but Aiber began first.

"You know, I didn't realize it until the director explained what Selee was, but I finally figured out everything. The reason you treated me like soldier rather than a son, the reason you willingly put me in the Neo-Spartan program. Even mom's part in everything."

"Son what are you talki-"

"She didn't terminate the pregnancy dad." Aiber said with a voice of cold steel truth.

Col. Blake froze. It took him a moment to comprehend what Aiber had said, and his son could see it on his face. He had wanted to tell him this for years, but never had a good reason too, now that it was all over, he might as well.

"I was running around the kitchen with a rolling pin, just like she told me not too, and when she tried to take it from me I accidentally hit her in the stomach."

Still Aiber's father showed no sign of life other than the rise and fall of his chest as he breathed.

"You had her exiled and had Selee make her vanish for good. And it was me the whole time. Do you want to know why she told you she did it? To protect me. She had seen how cold you were with me and she thought that if you knew, you would never love me like a father should love his son. My poor naive mother gave up everything, probably even her life, because she wanted you to love me. But she never knew did she? She never knew that that was impossible for you, because I'm not your son, I'm Selee's."

Col. Blake's mouth opened and closed a few times before Aiber continued.

"I told you I figured it all out. I was a proto-type version of a manufactured pilot wasn't I? Make me the old fashion way, then train me from birth, sure it takes more time that just growing me in a tube and downloading the necessary information into my brain, but the results are more reliable aren't they? I was a Selee sponsored child, nothing more to you than a guinea-pig, but my mother gave up everything in the vain hope that you would love me. She did it for nothing didn't she."

Aiber's voice was cold, emotionless, and unforgiving.

Then his father tried to speak.

"Son...if, if, if...if I had known...if she had told me...Aiber, you...things could have been...I could have...." For the first time in Aiber's life, he watched his father let go. There was no attempt to seem powerful, no show of authority. This, Aiber thought, is what a man looks like when he realizes his life's work is something he hates.

The door opened and the surgeons came back in, they ushered Aiber's still speechless father out of the room and put Aiber under sedation.

I wounder what the other pilots will say about me when I'm gone...

Present

An Eva's hand emerged from the cracked cocoon, but no-one recognized it. It was similar to the hand of Aiber's Eva, but it was much more heavily armored and there was a strange contraption attached to the top of the wrist. The first hand was quickly followed by an identical second and the blood-curdling roar of a wild Eva. The hands gripped the upper edges of the cocoon and pulled up in one swift motion, and then out of the shell flew Unit 7.6, code name: Elijah.

It's body was twice as armored as Aiber's unit originally was and it5 had some kind of mechanical circle on it's back with a bright glowing internal center the color of an angel core.

Elijah came down onto the earth and roared again. The contraptions on it's wrists began to glow a bright orange and then suddenly, the light condensed into the form of long blades with the wrists as hilts. One look would tell you that these blades were solidified forms of A.T. Field energy.

Elijah swung the blades diagonally and split the cocoon into more pieces, which fell heavily onto the ground. Then, Naatiel sprang up to meet the new foe. The upgraded Eva pierced the Angel's right shoulder with the left-hand blade, and it's left shoulder with the right-hand blade. The Angel cried in outrage and pain as Elijah lifted it from the ground by it's shoulders and brought it closer. The monster and the machine seemed to look straight into each other's souls, then they both screamed once more, but this time there was a third voice heard through all of the radios. It was Aiber, and he was in excruciating pain.

Thiry Five Minutes Ago

Aiber was in the entry plug and was being inserted into Unit 7.6. He sat half-aware in a daze as the plug was loaded in, and the process of linking the control-chip to the Eva was begun in the control booth.

"Be careful on that dial, if we go to fast or too slow there is no way to tell how the Eva will react, and with it's upgrades we could all be dead in seconds." one of the Selee scientists told the control-board operator.

The plug was docked securely inside Unit 7.6 and the re-entry armor began to enclose the frightening weapon. As the girders around the shell snapped together and the cocoon closed, the door of the control room flew open and the brains of the scientist that spoke were blown across the wall. The operator cursed and twirled around to see Colonel Blake with a smoking gun in hand. He ran toward the Selee executive in control of the station, hoping to dive behind him, but Colonel Blake was faster, and shot him in the neck. The mans blood sprayed onto Selee executive Shodmononov, who then found himself with Blake's gun pointed at him.

"Just what the fuck do you think you're doing Blake?" the seasoned man of 62 years demanded.

"Saving my son." Replied William Blake.

In that moment, he turned away from the old man and spun the sync dial of the brain-chip to zero. There was a load noise from the Eva on the other side of the glass, but it could barely be heard in the control room over the sound of the gun being fired point-blank into William Blake's head.

"Get a tech crew up here right now!" Sodmononov barked into the radio.

Present

Elijah's scream, Aiber's, and Naatiel's mixed into one soul-rending nice, broken by the sound of The angel being drop-kicked into a hill half a mile away. Elijah landed on it's hands and twisted it's feet under it, recovering flawlessly from the drop kick. It and Aiber roared together once more before charging after Naatiel, A.T. Blades at the ready.

The horrifying machine pounced on the titanic extra-terrestrial and began hacking at it, some blows being deflected and others not. The two creatures were locked in close-quarters-combat and neither was going un-harmed.

Five Minutes Ago

"Sir, the connection between the chip and the Eva is not salvageable, The Eva is recognizing it as a hostile intrusion and it's reaction it only getting worse by the second!" pleaded a Selee scientist.

Unit 7.6 was crying out from inside the launch cocoon and the reading on Aiber were fluctuating at dangerously extreme levels.

Director Shodmononov stared at the cocoon for a moment before declaring,

"There is nothing else we can do, we need to launch it now while it is still functional. The rest is up to god. We will finally see who's side he is on."

"But sir-" began a scientist.

"Enough! We are proceeding immediately." the director began to wipe the blood of the Colonel and his victim off of his hands.

"Operation Hammer of God launching in 3...2...1!"

Present

Elijah swung too high by ten feet and missed the angel's head. The Angel retaliated by driving it's whole body into Elijah's torso, sending it flying back. But in the blink of an eye, two slots on the Eva's shoulders opened and a pair of enormous spear-headed cables flew out towards the angel. One missed slightly and sliced a wound into it's right side, and the other nailed it straight on. Onece it punctured the Angel, barbs expanded out of the spearhead, latching onto the inside of it's body, pulling it with Elijah. The two beasts once again crashed, Elijah into a parking garage, and Naatiel into the river.

Elijah began to right itself but suddenly it began clawing at it's back, and the circular mechanism's core began burning blood red. Aiber and the Eva screamed together once more and laid thrashing on the city street.

Why is this happening to me?! What is going on?!

DSeg uyefufalu eugeu nfyye iena lihenant en kufeiyg! Greeeeeeeshhhna!

Who are yo-AAAAHH! ...Cha....Charlie?

Psleae! Ti htrus so mcuh! Paslee mkae ti sotp!

Charlie! Charlie we need to hold on together! We need to- Graaaaaaaahhhh!

The Eva rolled onto all fours and began clawing at it's back even more desperately, and the harsh glow of the mechanism grew brighter.

Then Naatiel itself from the river.

Was that awesome or was that awesome? This is my attempt to make up for my not being able to post and at the same time give an explanation for Aibers disappearance which resulted from my non-posting. And frankly I'd say that this is some of my best work ever. But since it is very very long I'll still do the summery thing even though you should all read it.

Aiber got kidnapped by Selee after Owen confessed everything, he was taken to a space station where they had secretly taken and upgraded Charlie. Aiber realizes and reveals the real reason his father hates him so much, and gets a mind control chip planted in his head. Before the chip can sync with the upgraded Charlie, renamed Elijah, Aiber's father stops the process as a last act of redemption and is killed by the Selee director of the station. Unfortunately, the process being stopped caused negative backlash on Charlie, Aiiber, and the connection between them, but they were sent to battle anyway. Now after going tow to tow with Naatiel, they are trying to fix their minds so they can fight without destroying each other from the inside.

All was quiet. No sounds were made. In this final, quiet moment, there was no need for words. Even as the Midnight beast fell from its height, the wax burned from its wings, Nephilim prepared itself for its holy transcendence. Crucifixion and holy cleansing of all through fire, brimstone, and the wrath of the gods. It spiraled as it fell, the force of Nephilim driving further and further towards its destination: six thousand feet beneath the surface of the earth, judging by the rate of its descent. It would be buried under the rubble it made from its own impact, and the Eva that had brushed godhood would be no more.

Unit-27 looked up and saw the beast as it began to sear the sky with its power. Burns that would rest in the stratosphere forever. Though it could not ponder in the same way that its Little One did, at that moment it still tried. It tried to wonder, to ask itself how its Little One could have been so strong. To have seen this every day, and have dared to fool himself into believing it would all turn out right. In a way, it was... endearing. The Midnight felt. It did not know what, but it compared it to the feelings it had felt within its own Little One when they bonded. Was this how Lilim looked at their spawn? That sense of contentment, even pride. It could not understand how on earth the little things could interpret these thoughts, but it thought it must have been nice to do so. But what did it matter? The Little One was gone.

Then, in the plug, the will retaliated to such an accusation. LCL crystallized, liquid turned to solid. Fluid turned to lifeblood.

Rev took his first breath for the second time.

Still in the air, with a hundred meters to go, the Midnight flipped right-side up, its gargantuan frame colliding like an anvil with the ground below. A crater as deep as a football field is long was punched into the earth, and a shockwave threw streets, cars and small buildings alone the rippling wave of force. He immediately flailed the controls, regaining his bearings. His left arm would not move. He looked down to see it was gone. Or was it only the Eva's missing? He didn't know. The synchronization was still so high, so strong, he could scarcely remember his own name. All he knew was that Nephilim needed to die. There were people to be saved. He needed to be a hero for a little while longer.

His head swiveled around quickly, looking for something to stop the onslaught that was coming. His eyes fell on the perfect prize. It was Addison, the older one. She was holding the railgun. It was dangerous, but it was a shot. He ran to her, shouting her name. She did not respond, at first. He noticed the flesh of her Eva's arms was ripped and torn, tendons hanging out from under the armor and blood leaking from every opening. She needed help. Rev crouched with his beast, using its good arm to further prop up the gun against his shoulder, and brace it for the next shot. He looked up even as he did this. Nephilim was still there, growing stronger. It wouldn't be long. He felt a horror in his gut, that this time there was nothing left he could do. He wasn't strong enough for this.

A brief image flashed in his mind. The beach. Fifteen. Even if he wasn't strong enough, he had to lie. To himself, to her, and to the whole universe. He would tell them that he was strong enough, and he would push harder and harder until he was. There is no truth; so make your own, and take it to its limits and ever beyond. The LCL crystallized again. Her arms were around him. He was strong enough.

"POLLUX! LISA! PIGGY! EVERYONE, BRACE THE GUN!"

As Unit-27 falls toward the earth, a bit of its implanted soul shines through and admires her son's resolve. The combined will of the Eva and Rev's remnants reconstitutes his body within the entry plug, allowing him to land the Eva safely. He runs to Addison and helps brace the gun for the final shot, calling the others to help. He has a brief moment of fear before re-affirming his determination and his feelings for Addi-15, who is re-constituted from his will.

At least, I think that's what happened. That's the problem with Evangelion stuff, I can't even understand my OWN writing about it after a while.

But yeah I definitely agree with the group gunshot thing. At least, I think. Addi-13 is the one with it right now, right? I lost track of it... I think that's the right one. Anyway, it'd be a great team-focused way to beat it instead of one person doing it.

"Ready?"

"Ready."

Ready.

Mikhael Rev, Addison 15, and The Midnight Beast all shared one will. One goal. Stop the Angel. Save the world. They took off with a leap, throwing themselves into a crashing impact with Naatiel. They were strong, and pushed the Angel into the crumbling ruins of New Masau. It resisted, and they were very nearly stopped. With only one arm, and with only sheer force of will to keep itself moving, Unit-27 was on its last legs. It was not strong enough to win. Not on its own. But it could damn well leave this Angel too crippled to stand a chance against the others.

The AT Field pushed out against the Eva, threatening to launch it into the sky. With a roar, both from pilot and beast, they pushed back and cracked the armor of the holy one. They lifted their knife, their unholy tool and swung with calculated precision. A vertical slash down its front, and a horizontal slice a bit above the midsection. The crosscut was followed with a single, flourished stab. Blood of alien colors spilled out from the wound, as they pushed further and further in. Naatiel rose, but it was pushed back. With a step, it was backed against a building. An axe slashed at the beast, and with no arm to deflect the blow all it could do was use its own shoulder to lessen the impact. The weapon embedded itself into the Eva's fin, and further in. It cut nearly to the point of removing its shoulder. Mikhael Rev shrieked as he felt his own arm threatening to fall off. Addison held him tight, and shouted into his ear to keep fighting. He was comforted, and fought through the pain.

Unit-27 let go of its knife, and tore at the cut, peeling away shattered flesh as the Angel attempted to resist, crying out in alien sounds that might have been pain. The flesh was torn away with its single arm, until its goal was spotted. The core was wide open. The Midnight Beast drew its coup de grace, its Core Knife. With a single thrust and twist, it could end the battle. End the war, even. Save the world. But the Angel would have no such thing.

The unholy and holy beings made their final moves at once. Mikhael Rev, The Midnight Beast both jabbed down with their Knife, but were met halfway by the great Axe of Naatiel, the smiter of Evangelion. Its blade was sunk deep into the wrist. Cold sweat broke out on Mikhael Rev's face, pouring down as he struggled to push forward. His hand clenched the grip in the cockpit, pushing forward but finding no purchase. He was stuck, and in awful pain with each inch forward. Before he could even consider giving up, a hand was on his. Addison pushed forward with him, and the pair clenched their teeth in unison. The Midnight roared in triumph. Its Little One was one to be proud of.

With an inch, then a foot, and with a great sweep the Evangelion gained purchase over the Angel and shoved its arm into the opening, Core Knife embedding itself deep into Naatiel's core. Mikhael Rev grinned wildly. They had done it. Just in time.

Naatiel made another push with its axe, and completely separated the hand from the Eva's arm. It was stuck there, with the knife still in its core. So close, and yet so far. Blood erupted from the wound, prompting a shout from Mikhael Rev. He stumbled back, and prepared to charge. But the Angel would not let it get another chance. A swift blow struck true, and his right leg came off at the knee. The Evangelion began to topple, and a great push from the AT Field of the holy one sent him hurtling past his teammates and into the ruins of many toppled skyscrapers. Blood pouring from its missing limbs, The Midnight Beast finally exhausted its power. It went dead, leaving its occupants trapped inside, waiting for rescue. Should humanity survive long enough for it to come.

With motivational assistance from Addi-15, Rev and The Midnight fight back against Naatiel, backing it to a corner and opening up a wide enough hole to reach the Core. They stab it with a Core Knife, but their hand is sliced off before they can finish the job. Naatiel then chops off their right leg and throws them away with its AT Field, and they finally lose power. The Core Knife is still stuck in the core, needing to be broken to finish the job.

Destruction was everywhere. The end was looming around us. The Evangelions were bestial, acting autonomously, on the verge of awakening and unleashing Third Impact themselves. Unit-02 collapsed as the lactic buildup in her muscles reached toxic levels, beyond what even an Eva could ignore. But despite everything that had happened, and despite what may happen, they endured. The fate of the world in their hands, surrounded by life- the buildings, the water and jungle, the people themselves. The Evas would not die easy.

The final shots at Naatiel pierced straight through it. A sonic boom tore through the air, combining with the resonance waves and the energies of the being. Progressive blades cut their separate paths. Lightning surged from the breached core- the Angel a blur of mirrored exoskeleton and lights before it came crashing down, still glimmering, but evaporating to pieces, clear liquid pooling out of it across the ground.

The Angel was stopped. Nerv HQ was lost. But man had seen another day, and that was more than what Piggy had thought possible.

Nikolai had been reformed, dragged back by the Eva and Rev. Piggy was almost too weak to move. But he managed it. He found the controls and slithered out of the plug, drinking great draughts of air. Down the outside of Unit-02, onto grass and concrete and mud, blessed the smell of it. He didn't have HIV anymore. He lay flat on the grass, with every part of his body he took it in; with every desire of his heart he embraced the small bit of the world around him - a city on his native planet that had endured a war of gods. Light crested over the horizon. The sky was clear, save the fading curtain of stars and the rising sun.

God's in his Heaven.
All's right with the World.

Elijah raised it'self from the ground. The Angel Core in it's back was destabilized by the destruction of Naatiel and finally broke. Aiber regained consciousness as the Eva Reached a hand out toward the beautiful sun rise. The one he had helped the world live to see.

So this what it means to be human huh Charlie?

Lisa let loose a heavy sigh as her squadmates cheered with their great victory over the ultimate evils of the angels. The sun was breaking through, the planet was saved. It seemed too good to be true, but deep in her heart she knew that this was what humans were capable of. The tyrants were bested. The world? Set free.

Rapidly, the Coffin began to desynch with her. The great behemoth collapsed onto the ground. She was confused and fiddled with the controls for a moment. Alas, there was no response, and somehow, she didn't think there would ever be one again. The Coffin was dead. It had fulfilled it purpose in the world, it carried out Lisa's dream. Now it knew what happened to its past pilots, and didn't want Lisa to be another casualty. So now, its soul was gone.

Lisa smiled warmly and started laughing over the comm. She was alive. They were alive.

And she was high on life.
