Well it seems that both Eidos Interactive Ltd. and Warner Bros. Interactive have announced the release of The Insane Night Map Pack, a free downloadable map pack for Batman: Arkham Asylum. News is that it will become available beginning September 17th, from the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. It will be released at a later date at the Games for Windows LIVE Marketplace. The pack offers gamers two new Challenge Maps to hone their FreeFlow Combat skills and test their Invisible Predator prowess.

Apparently, in the FreeFlow Combat map, scores of escaped lunatics bear down upon Batman as they make their escape through the asylum's secure records facility. These fast-moving foes aim to challenge all but the most practiced players, with quick reactions and expert timing needed to fend off wave upon wave of insane inmates, bent on taking down the Dark Knight. In the Invisible Predator map, players take on a wholly different approach, practicing their abilities to remain in the shadows, utilizing the Arkham watchtowers and Batman's arsenal of gadgets to gain the upper hand on The Joker's army of goons patrolling below.

How I wish there was a Scarecrow DLC (which lets you play as the Scarecrow) or a 360 Joker Challenge. Still, its a free DLC. I can't complain. Is this DLC in anybody's wish list btw?

Deffinitly sounds interisting from the concepts and as additional gaming time for free? That would be nice.

But are you sure it will be free? PS-Store and Marketplace? =/ I am a bit doubtful it will be free...

Um, I am still a bit confused. Is there a Scarecrow DLC?. All I heard was that the Insane Night DLC Pack will contain the Dem Bone's Scarecrow Challenge and other challenge packs that were originally thought to be exclusive pack-ins with Gamestop, and Collector?s Edition purchases.

Still I am unaware of a confirmed Scarecrow DLC or of any DLC that let's you play as the Scarecrow himself. Then again, I could be horribly wrong.

I haven't been playing the challenge maps much, but there was a Scarecrow challenge map as part of the exclusive content that came with my Collector's Edition. I didn't have the great feeling of the Scarecrow sequences in the game, though... you're on a platform, Scarecrow's floating in the nether in front of you and he keeps summoning those skeletons, and the specific challenge of the map is to see how long you can last without taking a single hit. Okay, but nothing great.

Indeed, that map pack is added into the new DLC for free (I believe it's called the 'Dem Bone's Scarecrow Challenge') but no word as to a Scarecrow playable map, as far as I am aware at least.

What I'd most appreciate would be a function that allows players to replay certain parts of the game (i.e. the boss battles / challenges)... one of the few flaws of the game (in my opinion).

Looks cool but I personally wouldn't mind a Robin DLC or a Co-Op Batman and Robin DLC for Arkham Asylum.

Why does everyone want to play as scarecrow? in my opinion his levels were only interesting because you were on fear gas. Scarecrow probably isn't going to use it on himself...

Im looking forward to it. Do you get too play those new maps as the Joker? Heres hoping but probably not.
