Even though it's Christmas in just over a week, are you still buying things for yourself?

I don't really have money to buy anyone anything, even myself(other than food and soap and other nessecities) right now, and even if I did, most of my friends, and all of my family, are currently a couple thousand kilometers away from me, and as such understand that even if I had money, shipping stuff back that way wouldn't be worth it, they'll get stuff from me later.
So this year, I'm off the hook for christmas spending.

Once I buy presents for my girlfriend, my family and my girlfriends family I'm hoping to buy a tv. I got christmas casual work and its all night shifts so I'll have enough for both thankfully. Probably buy farcry 3 if I have anything left.

I tend to swap things around in mid November and say "anything I would buy now instead is saved for ideas for friends and family for Christmas", there'll be some little things on occasion, a bargin I might spot that I wouldnt otherwise pick up but anything that makes an obvious and perfect gift idea is off my personal shopping radar untill at least January

Nope, there is a rule in my family, once the beginning of November hits, you are no longer allowed to buy yourself anything extra, unless you have already paid most of it off (in the deal with video games for me), or you -have- to have it right away/won't be valid in a couple of weeks.

So I haven't bought myself anything really.

I don't have the money to do that. Not that I would if I did. It's the season for buying things for other people, not myself.

I'm planning to get Mass Effect 3 in a few days, there's some sort of offer for it on Origin. I can't say I like Origin, but damn it, even though the ending came in for so much criticism, I need to know how the story ends.

I do this all year round. Over the years my tastes have developed in such a way that absolutely nobody in my circle of relatives has even the slightest clue about what I like, so they don't get me any presents unless I specifically ask for them; and when I do ask for something specific, it's usually something not found in any stores (e.g. I asked my dad for a collection of all his marvellous recipes, so I can have them bound in a cookbook). The few presents I get are usually cash, which I then put to use in any way I deem fit.
At the moment I spend less on myself, though, as that budget has fallen prey to the process of buying presents for friends and family. ^^ For the time being, what little I buy for myself amounts to books and the odd indie game.

I can't relaly buy alot of things for myself because I gave my mum a list so in case I get any of the stuff on it, which is fine because there's not much stuff I want right now (god yes I know I'm spoilt)
I can still buy comics and more obscurw action figures though

I got myself a Wii-U on launch day, justifying the purchase because it was out before Black Friday. I got Mass Effect 3 for it because I didn't tell anyone I wanted it (but mostly because my girlfriend said I was allowed to get it...she knew I wanted it...don't look at me like that!). I got Mass Effect...roughly between 12-1 and Thanksgiving so that one I guess I couldn't justify. I haven't really bought anything for myself though other than food stuffs (like a 6 pack of Romulan Ale because of the think-geek shipping sale...should have gone with G33K B33R e.e)

We don't do presents at my place, so I don't see any reason not to. Of course, money is an entirely different problem..

Nooooooo, even if your family isn't likely to buy you these things EVERYTHING FALLS LOWER IN PRICE AFTER CHRISTMAS. Just wait a couple of weeks and you can get the same stuff for cheaper!

Food. That's all I buy for myself this time of year.

We do Christmas biiiiig in my family, so all my money goes on presents. I prefer it this way, and obviously would buy anything essential for me if it came up (like two years ago, when the boiler broke). Other than that, I splash out on Christmas nibbles for me, and shinies for everyone else!
