I haven't been on in a while (almost a year I think!) I log in today and find I have two messages, turns out I've been awarded the badge for 1000 post without mod wrath BUT if you look at my post count I only have 351 posts!

so my question is...well basically the title of this thread

Yeah there has been a couple of threads were quite a few users have had that 1000 post badge, think it must have been a site error or something.

I got that badge too, I thought maybe they counted posts in user groups in that 1000 total?
I also had received a warning on my account before getting that badge, so I'm guessing that 'mod wrath' only means suspensions or bans?

maybe but the thing is I've never posted in a user group, I'm not complaining I just thought it was a bit weird

I just got that badge within the last week, which totally threw me off. For half a second, I thought maybe one of the mods liked one of my posts and decided to give me a gold star and a pat on the head. In all seriousness though, I think maybe it's coded wrong that it's reading the 1,00 thread you've opened as opposed to 1,000 reply you've made. That seems more plausible.

I got the badge for getting messages from loads of different people because I put a call out for anyone who wanted DOTA 2 keys. Yeah so I got a little bit swamped for the day XD

I don't actually have loads of friends or anything. Just a few.

The way it was explained to me is that Mod wrath refers to the yellow bar (for probation--once you get it you're permanently barred from receiving good conduct badges) and the red bars (for suspensions). The green warnings don't count against people receiving good conduct badges.

On topic: See my Morpheus badge? I got it even though I'm a long way from 1000 posts. Kross set the hamsters loose or something, I guess.

Maybe it's because your posts and your style are very recognisable (and may I add, hilarious and insightful at the same time) so whoever's in charge made a new badge just for you.

OT: Nope, never. At least, not to my knowledge.

As much as I appreciate the sentiment, I'm not the only one with the badge :D

I'd say the XCOM Enemy Unknown badge for having "Participated in the XCOM Community Event!". All I did was accidentally click on the link and promptly close that tab without even taking a look. Shortly thereafter, I was awarded a badge for my "participation".

Not on a forum, unfortunately. However, I do have something to share! I've 'won' awards of various merit in real life without earning them. My favourite was coming first place in a race in high school. This is made particularly ridiculous when you consider:

1) I've never participated in a race.
2) I didn't even attend the event to watch.
3) I am, and was, a fat guy.
4) This was announced in front of an audience with more than a thousand kids.

Many laughs were had that day.

I've just received the "K is for Killer Clown" badge for not viewing Killer Clowns from Outer Space, and now I feel like conman because I've totally seen that film.
