Ever been banned for kicking too much ass?

I was. I had finally found a TF2 (warcraft3 mod)server where I was the man. I found the absolute best mix of class, race, items, and weapons which allowed me to, quite literally, devastate the entire opposite team. Seriously they all ended up stuck in their spawn because I was apparently too much to handle (Even though a simple heavy could kill me off rather easily). Anyways fast forward to yesterday. I'm killing everything in sight as usual when suddenly I'm kicked by the admin. "Odd" I say to myself as I log back in. The server was empty when I went back in so I assumed it was an admin command gone awry. When I am kicked yet again. I decide to leave it be for a while till the server is more stable , coming back only to find out I had been banned.

So have you ever been banned for this reason? Like legitimately kicking a little too much ass for the admin's tastes? Share your story!

EDIT: To make it absolutely clear. It was the first time this admin had ever been in the same room as me, it was at the beginning of the round , and there was literally no preedent for what was done. Stop saying I deserved it for spawn camping.

Being a decent tournament player in any fighting game room will get you kicked hard. They'll kick you whenever they're done straight losing to you and will provide you the most lame, and possibly trolling, reasons.

Best one I've received that I can remember: "You were spamming combos".

O-Oh...

All the school wide servers in high school (various games)

I had to change my name every time I played, just to not be insta-kicked.
But they knew how to find me...

... I was the one at the top of the leaderboard =P

If we look at the other side of the argument:

You found a server where you where obviously a better player than everyone else, you probably should have been looking for a server of people of your own skill level instead of beating up others who aren't as good and are trying to get better and have fun.

I think I explained it enough, you didn't belong there and should have gone somewhere else. I don't want to take away from your skill as a player, but, you lack class. Instead of trying to playing in a server to have fun, you went in there to float your ego, and that seems to be why you where banned.

Simply put, the admin banned you because you where ruining the game for the other team or possibly everyone.

OT: yes, it has happened to be, got temp banned for a couple of days on air warrior waaaay back on AOL when I shot down 5 other aircraft on one sortie and had to go play on the realism server.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Once in unreal tourney 2004, it was a fan made assault map where one team had to drive scorpions though a canyon to the objectives, well at one point in the canyon there was a tank up on a ledge looking down over this long stretch of road that they scorpions had to drive though, well I got in the tank and I was really damn good in the tank so pretty much as soon as I could see any of them pop around the corner they got a tank shell in their ass and they weren't good enough shots to hit me with the weird energy whip thing the scorpions had, eventually I just got kicked since no one could get past me and I guess an admin was on the other team.

Yes, I was banned from playing Magic: the Gathering with my "friends" because I had made a couple of decks that were nigh unbeatable by anything they could come up with.

The funniest thing is that they're all dead now.

The first time I played deathmatch in CoD 2 (pc version), I got something like 120 kills and 130 deaths in 30 minutes. I actually led in both kills and deaths, which was odd because I was a serious noob. I got kicked from the server before the next match started. Still my most memorable online gaming experience.

Contrary to what you seem to believe I was indeed playing for fun. I'm the kind of person who is bored to tears holding back. I absolutely had to do as much as I possibly could or there is no point in playing. Nobody really seemed to have a problem with it save for the admin. I mean if I really am ruining it for someone they can just say so. I'm no dick. I can stop for a while and let people have their fun.

OT. I'm not actually good enough to get banned at most of the games I play (I also don't really play online multiplayer), but I have had a Magic: the Gathering deck be blasklisted in a social group at Uni.

The deck in Question was a U/B ninja deck and after 1 or 2 multiplayer games everyone basically tried to kill or disable my ninjutsu enablers at all costs (the enablers were tormented souls).

Lol Yeah this. I enjoy being kicked because I "must play this game all day." when I haven't played in months or because "You block everything!" Once I was even accused of "spamming ring outs" in soul calibur IV. How can you spam ringouts? It sounds like something the Gods themselves would do. And twice a yoda in that match rung himself out when I side-stepped him. I laughed too loud into the mic maybe.

Also once got banned from a Shojo server. It was this meccha anime love letter game that came out before some of you were born. My friend bought it, he bought me a copy, he wanted to kill me and the first time I played it I annihilated his favorite server. At one point I had 430 kills and 6 deaths. I was really big into FPS's at the time. I got booted, he got mad.

The point is you said it yourself, "I had finally found server where I was the man." You just had a little too much fun and where showing off, we all enjoy those moments where we all do really well, but, when you just devastate the other team and they can't stop you and you are, "killing everything in sight as usual," which implies you've been doing this for a while, it's time to go and move on to a server where people are your at your level.

I'm sorry, but, you sold your self out on this one, you went into a server, you do this often, and apparently the admin and probably a few others have an issue with it. They kicked you and you just didn't take the hint and got banned. I'm sure if you contacted the admin instead of coming on hear and gloat and whine [small](would you like cheese with that?)[/small] about how the admin was childish and banned you, you would probably hear what I'm telling you right now.

You just have to see it from the other side, you where being inconsiderate to the other players of the server.

I've never been banned, but I have made people ragequit on two memorable occasions. First was in RDR multiplayer, the first time I played. I used a cannon the entire time and went 40-3. Best I ever got. Second was in MW2. The enemies kept trying to kill me, and failed horribly each time On the last point, tied score, some guy got me. He got ridiculously happy and started yelling in joy. That stopped pretty quickly after he noticed the claymore (it was search and destroy, and he was last alive).

T-T best I've done is make a few people rage quite. that'd be nice, in a rather odd way though
I managed to clear out a MW2 lobby...

Calling in 3 nukes in 4 games apparently makes people angry...

Nope.

The few times I've performed notably better than anyone else in the game, I reign myself in and play to their level; so my ass-kicking streaks, rare as they are, never last long enough to get me in trouble.

Being a mediocre player, I understand how agonising it is when you just can't seem to get a kill, and I have no desire to inflict that frustration upon anyone else.

Do you happen to mean "Ever been banned for ruining the experience of other players when you could easily be in a skill appropriate server?"

Well there was this one time at the special olympics where I seemed to win every event. People kept on calling me a dick and saying I wasn't 'special' but my mum says I'm special.

A couple of times, actually. The most memorable being a long time ago playing Counter-Strike late one night on one of my favorite servers at the time. Map was on Dust and there was only 5 or 6 people playing, including one admin. I was getting kinda bored as I sometimes do, and decided to go pistols only for whatever reason. So I just loaded up with the DEagle and kevlar every round. Suffice to say, despite the fact I was doing pretty average before that point, I was literally devastating after that. I basically single-handedly won something like 6 or 8 rounds in a row, killing the entire enemy team (which was fully armed with assault rifles) with headshots galore, basically just running around, jumping, and blasting their faces off with my DEagle. Apparently, the admin got tired of it and kicked me. Figuring he was just messing around (I played with him fairly often on that server) I tried to log back in and discovered he actually banned me! I pretty much just lol'd myself to sleep after that, I found the whole thing pretty amusing.
