The only time was Full Metal Alchemist. I almost cried, actually, but there were so many moments in show where I shed some tears or outright cried. That show knows how to screw with your emotions

Oh, there's plenty of endings that make me cry. Same with books, to be honest. But the one that's really getting to me now is AnoHana, and that's only on its 5th episode. I tear up on a regular basis watching that show, and I know, and I mean KNOW that the ending is going to make me cry.

I cried when I finished watching FullMetall Alchemist : Brotherhood ...
I cried becasue it ended!
It was so neatly packed, with every detail you ever saw there merge seamesly together! Nothing was filler or just for fun, all aspects meant something!

This is a stupid question; of course I have.
I'll supply the easy answer: Clannad.

Though while I cried for Clannad for obvious reasons, I've teared-up after a series ended for the simple reason that... well, it's over.

Code Geass did for me, as did Clannad After Story but not at the end, just before it (you know what i mean)

Elfin Lied came close, but I couldn't cry. I felt sad, but no tears.

Grave of the Fireflies... 'nuff sed, I suppose (easily the only anime that is depressing from start to finish... only with a massive kick to the balls at the end).

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 (... again...)
I loved that movie and I don't want to watch it again because I know ill cry at the end of it all.

Almost at the end of eureka 7 and at the end of school days but that was mainly fear of the fact that I know some girls most likely to snap like that.

im sorry but if you cry over a cartoon, you might be a bit too sensitive, my cousin just killed himself and i didnt cry, so i doubt any Anime will make me cry
I think that's one of the saddest things I've ever read.

Of course no mere form of media will ever have the same impact as a loved one or relative losing their life, no matter the means. This thread isn't here to invalidate any of that, we're just sharing emotional responses to some of our favourite media.

For what it's worth, I'm sorry that happened to you.
thank you, but i must say that i wasn't saying that for sympathy, of course i was upset, but i just do not cry much, i only stated it to point out that while most media is made to invoke emotion, i think crying is a bit over the top, unless of course the actions depicted in it resemble something that has happened to you such as death or trauma.

but your kindness is appreciated :)

Actually, in End of Evangelion, Shinji's mom gives a speech about how "If you're alive, you'll always have a chance to be happy". After a few hours of mind raping madness and violence, it's pretty hearttouching to hear such hopeful words XD given what just happened, adn that sometimes gets a tear from me.

Also, Kanon got me crying like mad when
Makoto starts drifting away physically, and eventually disappears. Just the way it's so drawn out, it's so sad D: And the part when he marry her in her last moments, gets me every time TT_TT

Well, the ending of FLCL made me really sad just because such an awesome series was over. Like how you feel when you finish a really good book that you didn't want to end.

For making me cry, beyond the obvious ones of Clannad and After Story, Kanon, Angel Beats, and Air all did. Haibane Renmei made me really damned melancholy though. And the very last few lines of the last Shakugan no Shana OVA made me really damed depressed.

Well I didn't cry at the end of Bebop but it definitely left me cold.
I almost cried at Trigun, not at the end but because of Vash's reaction to what happens to Wolfwood. I'm odd in that events don't sadden me as much see other people be sad about things. That breaks me up.
Also, the end of Ranma almost made me cry tears of anger at it being such a non-ending.
Somewhat OT: I damn near bawled at the BEGINNING of UP.
