How? If you've truly lived your life how you wanted it and expected it to be played out why should you feel scared, I believe i will greet death like a friend, my only hope is that i go peacefully, so I'm not exactly scared of death itself, but the manner in whch it's going to happen to me.

I feared death when I was a kid. I am now a 20-something and no longer fear dying. It is the pain associated with most forms of death that I'd rather avoid. I'm not eager to find out what comes next, I'm too busy trying to see what all this life has to offer. When my time does come though, I hope those quick forms of death really are painless. If I get the, 'die of old age' option though, I hope that is painless too.

As for the afterlife...I'm hoping it goes by Discworld rules. Whatever you believe will happen is what happens. Heaven, Hell, reincarnation, judgement, Valhalla. Anything is possible. It's the probability that is the problem...Either way, we'll all find out some day.

Most of the time I don't really worry about it and just try to enjoy life while I can but I can't deny that sometimes I get thinking and it really freaks me out. I can't say I'm afraid of death exactly, I'm more scared about what happens afterwards. I think any kind of afterlife, reincarnation, whatever, I could handle but the thought of just ceasing to exist and becoming nothing is what freaks me right out.

After my granddad died when I was six, I thought about it. Too deply. It scared the shit out of me and still does to this very day.

Just not existing. No feelings. No senses. Nothing

No. Creeped out now.

Quite to the contrary. I'm stressed about life. Death is effortless, life isn't.

I had this problem a couple of months back, and i must say it totally fucked up my mind and well being, everything i saw, felt, thought or heard triggered the questions or our existence, meaning and what comes after. This went away over time and now i am back to myself again, pretty happy with the idea that 'I or Nobody Else knows the answer and It doesn't really matter'.

But now the only thing that gets me is 'Why as living organisms, fear or try to avoid death at all costs? Why is it our instinct? Why do we need to survive?'

but hey, whatever happens, happens right?

The concept of dead is somewhat comforting, yet I'm not looking too forward to it. I just don't mind at all when I'll die.

Two quotes spring to mind.

Death is more universal than life; everyone dies but not everyone lives.

--A. Sachs
And...

Death is a very dull, dreary affair, and my advice to you is to have nothing whatever to do with it.

--W. Somerset Maugham
My view is that it's gonna come anyway, and there's no point worrying about it. You only live once, so enjoy yourself!

I don't fear death, nor see it as a very significant event. The only thing I want to avoid is physical pain. I don't feel very sad when someone (or something) dies, though I always give more than a thought to the deceased.

But come to think of it, I've cried more than enough at death-scenes in stories. Maybe I've never been close enough to someone to actually feel truly sad.

I don't fear it. Death itself is perfectly fine by me. I don't fear dying either.
I only fear that I will no longer be able to do anything, be anyone or exist in any way.
I don't fear death because it's not related to me. Just as I don't fear car accidents or shark attacks.
I will avoid them at all costs, but in no way do I fear either of them.

I used to feel depressed about death, but then I realised I am still young and should not be dying any time soon.

But when the time comes, I will fear death.

Why fear it? Fearing it isn't going to make it go away or make it any more easy. I would prefer to die without my last moments being scared to death (no pun intended). Rather accepting my fate and dying peaceful.

The only time I was stress toward death when I was little. I can't remember what happen but I think it something my bro said which result me crying to mum saying I won't want to die.
Anyway in this present time, I don't really feel scare or depress about death I more concern about regret or things I didn't get to do and not leaving a message or a will to my friends. Sometime I feel I should write a small will on some paper that someone will find it after my death.

Not too much, I've come to accept that I'll die and cease to exist.
What bugs me is that it will fucking hurt.

But maybe I'll be badass enough to just light a cigarette, finish it, then close my eyes and say 'bang'.
