Gee, this looks interesting, but the $20 price tag is a bit steep for what looks like a rather simplistic horror game.

One Hour Later

What? That's it? That's the whole game? What a total pile of shit! It's barely an hour long, even with Katies glacial walking pace. The story was incredibly uninteresting, and the graphics are bland and uninspired. The worst part is how it builds up such a suspenseful mood but never does anything with it!

But my concerns have nothing to do with...

Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiims 3.
Freaking game is broken as hell. But I was always playing it on an older computer so I thought it was my problem. Bought expansions and even set it up on my boyfriends (then better) computer but nope turns out they just cant be arsed to make a game that works.

Less game company, and more gamestop, but I bought a vita for black friday, and the motherfucking cashier was all "You need to buy a memory card too, because we're apparently back in the ps1 era or some shit" so I dropped another 20 bucks on a used memory card (because all the new ones were sold out) and.....
The psvita came with a memory card anyways. There was a giant sticker on the box that said "Comes with a goddamn memory card." now, this isn't too bad, I can return it later and whatever, but just the fact that the guy guarunteed it didn't have one.

All the damn time. My fault, mostly. It's like an unwritten rule of buying things on STEAM: You will enjoy and play 2/3 of everything you buy. The other 1/3 you either end up hating or has some kind of technical problem that makes it impossible to play.

For example, I own Brutal Legend, State of Decay, and Dark Souls on STEAM. They are all console ports of dubious quality. My laptop can, technically, play all of them at a decent setting. In reality, I can only play them at their lowest settings without lag due to poor optimization. Also, they are definitely not designed to accommodate keyboards and mice. I'm currently in the process of figuring out ways to enjoy each of these games but my options are dismally few.

The worst part is that, even though I can't play these games, I know people who want them. I can't return or regift these damn things. Such a shame.

Diablo 3 kinda pissed me off if only because it's one of few games in recent years I let myself get hyped for and which then proceeded to spectacularly let me down. I honestly don't even know what Blizzard were thinking with that one, it's just terrible.

That said I have enjoyed all the other Blizzard games of late like Starcraft 2 and Hearthstone, so hopefully that one will turn out to have been just an unlucky fluke.

If you buy any games off the Playstation store, you will need more than one memory card. Just trust me... especially if you have PS+. Otherwise...

OT: Every time I pay taxes I feel cheated... Seeing even a portion of that money paying Senators and Congressmen/women stupid amounts of money, subsidizing their healthcare so they don't have to use their own poorly designed system, and their fucking pensions...

I bought Batman: Arkham Asylum at retail a while back. The game just straight up didn't work. I ended up using a crack just to get past the bullshit Games For Windows Live wall that blocked me. I now own an official working copy, thanks to Humble Bundle, but that infuriated me to no end.

Agreed, although I played the crap out of the main campaign I never have felt the urge to go back and do the DLC again, hell I only managed to beat two of them. As much as I loved the game with the lazy one-joke DLC Gearbox made (and hundreds of DLC hats) I don't think I'll be paying for their games anymore.

When I was still playing MW2 on pc, I one day decided that during a fifty percent sale, I shouldbuy the expansion packs for MW2. After buying them with my own money, installing them, I tried to play them and only about half of them worked. I tried to get them to work, but after 6 weeks, I swore off Modern Warfare 2 forerver and I have hated everything Steam-related ever since.

Plug in a wired Xbox controller, BAM all problems worries anxieties and PC smallpox will disappear. Complaining about bad console ports because of keyboard mouse comparability holds no ground, even games which don't have controller support can be fixed by modding.

Well, that would only solve half of the problems as the games would still run like ass regardless of what I'm using to control them. Optimization is the core concern as an unoptimized game will make even the most powerful gaming computers lag for no reason beyond faulty programming.

Medal of Honor, 2010. They advertised that the game was going to have a riveting single player story based on the real life Afghanistan War, but I blew through it all in 4 hours and felt ripped off. Plus the multiplayer was an unbalanced joke of a game, with the game feeling more like half assed Battlefield minus the vehicles or awesomeness. Say what you will about Call of Duty, but at least single player games will give you a solid 10 decent hours plus multiplayer (Black Ops 1, COD4:MW were both really good story lines with BL2/WAW being decentish in my opinion). MOH was just a cheap copy of the COD series, and it showed, especially with the recent 2012 sequel, with fortunately I did not buy.

I bought a PSP in anticipation of the incredible-looking and very dark and violent Final Fantasy Type-0. A game which Square Enix has steadfastly refused to send stateside, despite the wave of money they would bask in. Of course, if they do release it here, it'll be on Vita, and I'll have to buy one of them next.

EDIT:

At this point, I'm tired of defending 13 (which I enjoyed), and I can understand complaints about Tidus, and frankly 8 was a drag, and 11 was an MMO, so I didn't touch it...but I am curious, what made 12 "crap"? I recognize that it gets a lot of criticism for...well, things that I must not see. I'm honestly interested in why it's so divisive, considering that I loved the art, combat system, license board, voicework--almost everything, really.

I don't think I've ever really had anything like this. I get some sort of enjoyment out of almost everything I buy. I typically don't go rushing into a purchase without researching it some first though. Even Spore which disappointed me never felt like I was cheated.

I loved it. Got 100 hours (and climbing) of content for £20. :)

If you spend your times looking for flaws they are easy to find, try not to give them so much time.
Are these really worthy reasons, has your computer commited treasons?
I think not. Really, just give it another shot.

Devil May Cry 2.

DMC 1 was an impulse buy that made me fall in love with the series. So naturally, when I saw 2 was out I used all my saved up allowance money and bought it.

The game was many flavours of ass, all unpleasant. I tried to rationalize the games shortfalls for weeks but in the end all I was left with was the fact that I had been had.
