Stealth sections in any FPS or TPS ever. Unless that's the point of the game, I don't wanna hear about it.

"You can't fast travel with enemies near."

Then spending 10 minutes looking for the Mudcrap in the river!

...I know I can walk away, but I'm thick!
There's a glitch where enemies are somehow always around you. I kept running for 10 minutes before I reloaded and was able to fast travel.

The fact that dead rising explains what everything does as though it's your first play-through. That game is impossible to beat in a single sitting so it adds up.

The elevator ride in Mass Effect. I don't really see the point. I pretty much prefer a loading screen because there's nothing happening in the elevator anyway. Or at least let me talk to my companions during the ride.
Oh I liked them, mine would be the mining in ME2, whoever thought that up needs to apologize.
agreed, while the Mako handled like a 3 leged dog wearing roller skates on oil covered ice, it was better than just sitting in orbit having some drones mine stuff for you with button presses, also it had some awesome side quests like the one where that pirate (name forgotten) tried to kill you by setting off an old nuke in a small cave.

sometimes the enemy's habit in Borderlands of knocking you down then walking calmly off so you cant get back up makes me rage.

Oh, I got another one.

Nintendo is usually to blame for this;
Artificially lengthening gameplay, by making you go on a pointless, backtracking fetch quest near the end of the game.
Chozo artifacts, Temples Keys, Energy cells, Triforce shards, starts.
Really annoying, totally takes the flow out of the game.

Bayonetta load times on everything, excessive cut scenes after load times... I passionately hate that game. It really requires you to experience it to actually understand how bad it is.

Unskippable credit rolls.

I usually say "fuck you" to those by making myself a sandwich or surf the internet when one of those pops up.

Same here.

Also, racing games where the cars handle like hovercraft. Those are pathetic in my book.

Blood splatter on the camera. That's not even being realistic. If something gets splattered in your eye, you blink instantly & it's gone. I paid good money to see HD graphics. I hate when stuff blocks my view.

Racing Sims & RPG features that give you 100 ways to tweak your car/character. It really diminishes each decision and makes it overly complicated. Fallout 3 was pushing it with their upgrade system which was also vague at times: 3 categories of upgrades; some categories effect other categories, but in a vague, unspecified way. (Perk X effects Skill Y, but doesn't say by how much.)

Games like Perfect Dark Zero that don't put the bullet where your cross-hairs are. I hated so much when I'd line up a nice head shot, and the game would basically say "We don't care how good your aim is. We're just going to put your bullet somewhere in the vicinity of your cross-hair."

I don't remember it explaining everything after I changed the tutorial setting to "off". After that, cut scenes were the only thing with explanations, and that was regarding the story. Have you done that, or are you talking about something else?

The mining in Mass Effect 2. Not only did they replace a poor mechanic with an even worse one, they amde it an almost integral part of the game to get a decent ending.

The motorcycle missions in GTA4.

Riding them was pretty cool, but chasing enemies on a motorcycle always put you in a disadvantage.

Collectables that unlock nothing useful.

"Boy, I have 15 pieces of intel. Have I unlocked anything yet?" (Checks GameFAQs) "dadada.....will net you.......a deep sense of satisfaction?"

The card system in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. Granted I played it on the PS2, dunno if the game boy version was better.

Unskippable cutscenes in any game. Also, the inability to pause during longer cutscenes.
How could I have forgotten that? If MGS4 cutscenes were unskippable I..
I agree completely. My earliest problem with this was the lengthy scene before the Ansem/Rikku fight at Hollow Bastion.
A long cutscene is more frustrating when you have to watch it again after narrowly losing a tough fight.
