Ever get the urge to play a bad game?

It may sound weird, but today, I bought two games that I knew would be bad. I right reviews online just for fun, (http://luckshotpro.wordpress.com/) and decided that it was high time I reviewed a bad game. So I went out and bought Call of Jaurez the Cartel and Mindjack. Does anyone else ever feel the urge to play a bad game? Maybe it was a great concept that you just couldn't accept had turned into a bod game, or some other reason.

I wouldn't spend a considerable amount of money on a game that I know is bad but say if it was on sale on Steam and I really wanted to play it I would. But that game would be Desert Bus!

I've had the urge occasionally. I've seen some gameplay footage of old PS1 games that look like a lot of fun to play through just to laugh at, like Overblood [http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/12/31/super-replay-overblood-part-1.aspx] an infamously bad survival horror/adventure game which has gathered a cult following recently.

I guess I am somewhat interested in trying out Bloodwings: Pumpkinhead's Revenge.

Don't know what it is? Here's a link to Spoony's review of it:

Urge? No. Curious? Yeah, but my time and money is too valuable to waste it on something I know is bad.

Seeing as bad is mostly subjective, I'd have to say no. I always avoid buying games of which I'm sure I'll dislike and only borrow games to which I'm indifferent towards at worst, but will not shy away from interesting games with mediocre reviews, weak reception/sales and low popularity. If I did, I would have never played good (or at the very least interesting) games such as Alpha Protocol or flawed gems such as Kotor 2.

Yes quite often really . Theres no such thing as bad publicity . This is true with me . When people say somethig is bad ( and i mean that theres a general consensus ) i feelthe urge to play that game . I hear terrible things about aloha protocol for example , i was curious and bought it for 10$ . And i LOVED it . Seriously i thought it was a good game ! One of the rare games i played twice ,back to back. The pistoles were overpowered though .

I wouldn't even rent a game I knew was going to be bad.

I've played games people have told me are balls-kickingly bad game design, or just extremely difficult, like Daikatana or I Wanna Be the Guy. But those were free...or at least someone gave me them on a Flashdrive.

No, I'll buy a mediocre game like Singularity as I know I will enjoy it if I go in with the right mindset but I'll never buy a bad game.
This. I've played Singularity, Legendary and Turning Point: Fall of Liberty and loved them. Its like an 80s action flick. If you go in expecting Inception, you'll be sorely dissapointed. But if you go in wanting to see a big burly guy shoot people and blow things up its a blast. Ever seen "Commando"? Its like that.

I bought Duke Nukem Forever and both Kane & Lynch games. On both occasions I had a good idea of what I was getting into.

So yeah... I think that's a "yes".

Yeah I really wanna play 50 Cent: Blood on The Sand, although that might be partly due to Charlie Brooker's review of it

I want to play Transformers DOTM..
After playing War for Cybertron, I never want to play another Transformers game again and that was supposed to be a decent game and not a shitty movie tie in. Good luck to you sir.

I've heard nothing but bad things about Brink, but my brother brought it for me for Christmas, I was expecting the worst and my expectations got lower when I realized it was an online team shooter game. But I have really enoyed it, I realize its a Team Fortress 2 (take a drink) rip off but to my surprise I have actually enjoyed an online FPS shooter.

I have this thing for Fable.
It's like I can totally switch of my brain when I'm playing that, very relaxing.
Most people look at my xbox profile and are like wtf fable really? BEGONE

I love Fable even though I know it sucks. And yes I do have this urge sometimes. It's kinda a cool challenge to see if you can get past horrible controls and the like and overcome a poorly put together game. Plus, sometimes they're so bad it's funny. And I like to laugh at others' misfortunes

No, I have much better things to waste my time with.

And if I don't, I'll just rent it :p

Or pirate it

Yes, I've been playing exclusively stellar games for far too long.
Pass me my copy of Brink!
Dear God, it's worse than I remembered it.
Ah, much better, now excuse me while I pick broken plastic out of my hands.
