Yes I have. Twice. And it annoys me that they can now play those games and I can't play ANY of mine.
hm, why is that? Lost your account?
Not at all. The account was suspended by Steam with no notification, explanation or justification. In fact, my repeated requests for any type of explanation as to what was going on was met with the same pre-programmed response, and to this day I still don't know what happened.

All my games were bought legally, and I don't play any multiplayer games, so I haven't done anything illegal. But, while Valve is getting blowjobs from its legions of adoring fans (no offense intended) and counting its money, I am effectively locked out of a great deal of games in excess of ?400. If you look at it from a certain angle, you might go so far as to say I was robbed.

As a consequence, I love my PS3, I am off PC gaming, and fuck Steam, and fuck Valve.
Thus another reason I hate steam..

I have a friend whose parents give him no video game money and my dad gives me a fair bit of money for games so like once every month I buy a multiplayer game(like l4d2) for me and him.

Gave my brother a copy of Psychonauts, he is mostly a multi player so he would never have brought it himself.

I gave someone an extra copy of MW2 I had lying around, and someone else a copy of TF2.
Other than that, I have only been given Counter Strike (which I hardly ever play anymore...)

I've never given anyone a gift over steam, but I did what I could to spread the word about the free Portal promotion. I know at least one real life friend of mine got the game because of it, and another one would have if steam had played nice with his computer.

On more than one occasion. I just like clicking that "As a Gift" button instead of "Purchase for myself."

Though of course there are mixed results. There this one occasion where I passed a game from a 4 player coop pack out to someone---only to wait in vain for the game to be played. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.

I've given gifts if I have received games with a free copy.

Otherwise never bought someone a game through steam.

I have given a copy of L4D2 to my friend...in return he gave me the newest Broderlands DLC..Speaking of Broderlands another friend of mine gave me the main game and the first 3 DLCs for it so that game was entirely free for me lol.

I'll play your blasted Scourge Project, fine! :3
I did enjoy L4d2 very much though, thankuverymuch, despite its inferior cast.

OT: I gifted KOTOR to a friend, because he didn't think it would be that good and refused to buy it himself. I showed him the error of his ways.

Sent a couple of gifts, yes.

It's a cool feature.
Quoted for attention.

About f****** time.

*grins*

... wha'? You want attention? And you're welcome. You have established yourself as a very reliable Rochelle.

Now to wait for the next bunch of Coop games to come around and see how many packs I'll be buying in my current coop frenzy.
