Cant say I have any friends like this, but from reading this there is no way i'd be able to put up with it.

I love the Fatal Frame and first 3-4 Silent Hill games very much, but putting up with a former colleague fanfictioning, analysing and brabbling about the greatness of them for 8-9 hours for 5 days a week (he was working at the same table as me) were very, VERY stressful 12 months.
God, just remembered how annoying it was back in school when everyone played Counterstrike and i had already moved on to more fun things.
Also, more recently had a 1 hour walk back in the middle of the night, drunk, with a friend who really talked the ENTIRE time about World in Conflict. Spent every of my "uh-huh"'s on this one

Always going on about how awesome his freaking PS3 is basically anything exclusive to PS3 he'll brag about and loves saying 'Xbox fails'. God damn, I'd punch him but he's gangsta (supposedly) so if I punched him to get him to shut up he'd probably respond with this:

HAVE a friend, Hell I AM the friend. Like when I was playing alot of Rainbow Six Vegas online, I was ALWAYS talking about it and other Clancy games.
Definitely... I have this one friend who I happened to buy Fallout 3 for. Now he won't shut up about the goddamn thing. Not saying it's a bad game, its suitably awesome but the endless banter about mods I will never download, or random glitches that i don't give a damn about, really detracts from what I like about the game. At the same time he also says hes an amazing Halo 3 player and can sticky some guy from across the map while sniping another while dodging incoming fire. That and whenever I'm on his team and usually 20 something points ahead of him.
A bunch of my male friends in high school would talk about WoW and Magic: The Gathering all the time. And I do mean all the time.

I'm afraid I am also "that friend" though the game for me is Eve: Online, doesn't help that I'm a politics student either. I've already gotten a couple of my mates into it just from constantly discussing the political situation to the point that when their mates come round they ask for updates

I had a friend who would call me just to narrate what her SIMs were doing at that moment and thats it. No other form of conversation just:
"Oh Jim just started the toaster on fire...........*five minutes of silence*...
Beverly has full charisma points cause she won't stop talking in the mirror!..............*Three minutes of dead silence*.....
Jim burned down the whole kitchen, the idiot......"
