I remember a few years ago, there was a teacher that enjoyed games a lot. So much that he even had a Nintendo 64 in his room, and on rainy days when we weren't allowed to play outside, he'd let us play Goldeneye. This was some of the most fun I ever had in school. Has anyone else here had an experience like this?

I had a teacher at my school who was a massive starcraft/2 fan and player who would nearly constantly talk about it and even play students online. He was a cool guy

I actually have a few at the moment. I saw one walking around with a Mario themed t-shirt, and another talking passionately about his first contact with games, which was Day of the Tentacle. Yeah it's that kinda college course.

It was recently brought to my attention that my maths teacher is an avid gamer, a massive fan of mass Effect and the Elder Scrolls but not uncomfortable with such games as Call of Duty.
So we play online every weekend with some other guys from class, it's a good time and he actually helps out a lot in terms of the work.

I know for a fact the answer is yes. My college experience was great, I was enrolled in two degrees. Game Art/Animation and Game Software Development. Some of my teachers were not just gamers, but one of them owned a company that made games. I even got to meet the hiring managers or representatives of Armor, EA, Dreamworks, Obsidian, and Blizzard.

Well, my Biology teacher had an Xbox in her room. At the end of the year, if you got a high enough grade on the final test, she gave you an A for the term and let you play Halo every class period for a week.

I can't rule it out, but to my knowledge, no.

However, I plan on being exactly that kind of cool teacher once I'm done with uni. :)

The manager of the theater I work at is a huge Pokemon fan, owns all the games and plays them regularly. My direct boss, the night crew manager is a huge Halo fan.

I have a teacher in my school who has a wii in his classroom. So whenever we got a free hour or something we just go there and play SSBB with him.

Definitely the best teacher I've ever had.

Well yes actually. My current teacher openly talks about his gaming in lessons.
We are constantly playing games on the computers and he has several consoles around the room. any lessons just become us playing Counter Strike on Steam on the school computers.

I am taking a course in Games Development though. That sort of affects things.

I'm a school teacher and teach Stage 3 (Year 5 and 6). My students know that I love to game, and we often chat about upcoming games, as well as games the students currently play, such as Minecraft, TF2, League of Legends and Call of Duty. The sporting teams that I coach have given me a game as a 'thankyou' gift for the past two years. Last year they gave me Red Dead Redemption. This year they gave me Modern Warfare 2 for the PS3, even though I already had the PC version.

My seventh grade English teacher played some sort of game on his computer, and taped a folder to his screen so that you couldn't see it. It showed it to a few people, and it looked interesting, sort of like Diablo, but you could pause and tell your characters to do certain things, and you had a part of people. Shame I don't recall the name, but it was a few years ago, so the chances of me finding whatever it was to check it out aren't that great.

My bio-informatics teacher recently upgraded her pc so she could play Skyrim.
And during class we discussed the whole Oblivion v.s. Morrowind thing.

Well my registration teacher (in the UK before the morning and afternoon lesson start, you head to your register room first which the teacher will call out names and we chill abit before it start) was into playing Tomb Raider. One time during reading (he make us bring story book to read) someone brought in a game guide book (before the invention of GameFAQ) and he ask him to borrow it to read the level guide on the said game.
I also remember during sixth-form, my IT teacher was into gaming (PS2 and Gamecube) but I can't remember which games he had.

My philosophy teacher at college was hugely in to Starcraft II and Portal II. Although I guess that's not really such a crazy situation since he was only 3 years older than me. He was also married with a child. Maybe it was a bit of a crazy situation.

My year 8 Maths teacher gave my friend and me a disc with NO$GMB, and Pokemon Red, Blue and Green versions on it (not LeafGreen, children. GREEN version). For context, it was a 3 1/2" floppy disc, and back in the days before Yellow version had been seen outside Japan.
