My A-level IT tutor was a huge gamer.

We spent an hour of one lesson with the whole class of 8 trying to think of a plausible reason so that the school would pay for us to go to the London Science Musuem, purely because there was a massive gameing exhibit there.

I had a PE teacher who liked gaming too. God of War, Call of Duty 2, old school Quake and Unreal Tournament, Battlefield 2, etc.

Naw, but my endocrinologist and I often talk about zombies, and zombie games/media... Which would be cool, but I think she's pretty inept at her job, thus removing coolness to me.

Ran into one of the chemistry teachers from my school playing Dota at the local interned cafe. It was kinda odd but she was quite a young teacher.

The Captain of the last vessel I worked on, a mid-sized oil and chemical tanker, was a closet gamer. He noticed I'd brought a shiny new Alienware laptop with me, then admitted he had one too. We spent a good while chatting about relative cost and hardware capabilities, then it spread on to other technologies. For a man well into his fifties he was quite a technophile. His entire house was integrated onto one control panel. TV, computer, lights, even his kitchen appliances. The wonders of a six figure income I guess.

My current manager is an avid pc gamer and says he builds gaming rigs for fun, which was a godsend. My last manager only cared about golf and basketball, two things i couldn't care less for. It definitely makes the workplace environment more pleasant when you have things in common.

My earlier math teacher played Fallout 3 and Company of Heroes. It was a huge chock when we found out, he was so boring that he'd play math games at home, to hear he played Fallout was amazing.
Also once when he had to show the class a report one of the other students had made on the PC, you could see the place where he had to write his name, he instead wrote "Master Max", we were like "wtf?". Apparently it was his gaming nickname xD.

Not to long ago I had a substitute and we were talking about WoW and the upcoming TOR and freshmen year I had a substitute who was playing WoW in class. Also, in middleschool me counselor had a bunch of gaming magazines and a PS2 in his office (and this was before PS3 and Xbox 360 so you can't really say he bought it as a way of trying to hard to get kids to relate to him).

Also my physics/digital electronics/aerospace engineering teacher plays Black Ops but I don't call CoD players gamers, I call them conformists.

No I haven't. It might just be that I haven't really had that many jobs or that most of my teachers were well more family oriented but no I haven't. I'm not sure if I'd find it cool to talk about a video game in class, than let's say the Physics were paying good money for.

My English Literature teacher in secondary school was a big fan of Assassins' Creed and Fallout, and we had many a nerdy discussion of areas, weapons and favourite kills after class :) She was very attractive too, so double bonus

Nope. But a computer technician at my college has Steam. Shame my laptop kinda sucks when it comes to games.

I'm not actually sure if she was into gaming, but i had a small conversation with my one of my english teachers in high school during class about the music in fallout 3. Also (in that same class) she showed a trailer for one of the Halo games (not sure which one)

I had a manager that enjoyed gaming as much as I did. Of course, he also had a full-time job and a family, so he wasn't always up to date with the latest games. In fact, he walked in one day a couple years back and started going on and on about a new game he had just started playing. Turns out the "new game" was Oblivion. But at least he could still sustain a conversation about it.

Too bad he was a total douche, and sexist to boot. In fact, the only reason why he was even nice to me was because he said some terribly offensive things to my face, and I went to the GM about it. I guess he understood I wasn't about to be some meek little college girl who puts up with what the managers dish out, and then he was soooo nice.

No, it's not really a topic that would ever come up with my manager, but I have a work colleague that does, and he is fiiit, and I just get him to tell me about how much he's looking forward to Skyrim and I just gaze at him. Lush.
