Ever have an idea for an MMORPG that you'd like to see? Why not share if so?

An idea in my head would be one that, in essence, be a game in which everything would be player controlled. From the standard heroes running around trying to grind levels, to the helpless townsfolk, and of course the mobs littered throughout zones as well.

I don't know how such a concept would work. Possibly like the Zombie Master mod for Half-Life 2 in which one player places and controls zombies all over the map in order to thwart the human players who play as regular characters in an effort to complete objectives and outlast the zombie onslaught. Think Left4Dead but with someone controlling the zombies.

But I would like to see something on a larger scale, such as maps the size of outdoor zones in existing MMORPGs such as World of Warcraft, and a team of human controlled players would have to work together to complete objectives (free the mine from goblins and rescue the foreman or something). All mobs and such would be placed by the other solitary player who would simply work to hinder the players from completing their objectives. As for townsfolk and such, I have no idea how they would work.

Anyway, that's my idea. Any of you guys have any ideas kicking around in your heads?

Every good book I read. It also works for films (that they should be an MMO and that it would be good to see the film of the book).

I would love to see a nicely structured and well thought shooter MMO. So something like 40k would be a nice move

Something set in the Firefly 'verse would be great. I've heard rumours of one but it has been shelfed for now.

I'd like to see a western themed mmo that's a completely player run economy.

You can be a sheriff or an outlaw, join a posse to take down an outlaw player. open your own shop to sell clothes or guns become a blacksmith to shoe horses all that jazz.

No magic powers or classes, what you are depends on what you carry, you want to be a sheriff you have to find a player controlled town that needs one...

The game starts out as a blank canvas and it's mainly populated by players.

i have designed dozens of mmo's which would be awesome if they would/could be made :p
some of those ideas are:
- A realistic survival horror mmo where perfect teamwork and tactics are needed to survive the zombie hordes.

- A western mmo with many different classes; train robbers who rob transport trains(controlled by "guilds") bandits who rob people and traveling stagecoaches, sheriffs who hunt down bandits and robbers, bounty hunters who hunt everyone that has a price on it's head, workers who can build whole towns and do other jobs for "guilds" and finally missionary's who travel across the world to help people.

- And a freerunning mmo inspired by the movie "Death Race" where you have to race against other players to reach a specific point in the city... you can design your own routes because there are no boundaries and you may use any means necessary to slow down/kill your opponents.

I have never had the chance to play L4D, so I really can't say with certainty that it's been done, but aren't zombie hordes already unrealistic? Otherwise, I'm totally digging this idea.

yeah, i know that the chance of a real zombie outbreak is really small :p, but every multiplayer zombie game (left 4 dead, killing floor, various zombie mods) is way too fast paced (you get machine guns and nearly unlimited ammo and there are thousands of easy to kill zombies) in my game idea ammo is very limited and if you don't be careful, 1 zombie can already be fatal to your whole team :)
