Dungeon Maker II for the PSP. Found it cheap in a bargain bin, and man did I get hooked on it. I'm a lover of dungeon crawlers and get hooked easily, but having the twist of designing your own levels and having to really think about the layout just made it super addicting to me.

It's kind of why I'm worried about picking up Recettear right now, though I'm kind of happy my laptop is much less portable than a PSP.
Join us! Recettear, I bought it on a whim, now I find it is one of only two games I actually make time to play... though in combination with Dynasty Warriors Gundam (2) its... odd.

I kinda found runescape...Hate on it all you want I enjoy it but I got hooked to it and I'm afraid my mouse will die soon
Same. when I was around 13 or so my friend recommended it and made me a user. forogt about it for around a year then went back on it and boom! every spare moment on the internet, runescape.

Also Rythmn paradise for the DS. Thought I'd give it a try and spent the next month just trying to complete it.

One word: Peggle.
God, I've lost so many hours to that game with the words "I'm going to bed after this level..." I don't even know why I downloaded it, I had just bought a $50 XBLA points card and was on a hydrocodone blur after getting teeth pulled and it the next day it was on my 360.

But a really random game I picked up was Borderlands. It was cheap at a pawn shop, so I picked it up just to see what it was about on Friday. About 12 hours later my brother comes in and asks if I'm ok because I hadn't been out of my room. I played until I just crashed and he took it in his room to try it and did the same thing. Today I told him he had to give it back because I was jonesing for it so he gave it back and went and bought his own copy. It quickly became one of my favorite games of all time and my brother feels the same way. It's really weird considering neither of us like FPS and didn't care about the game at all until we played it.

As many others, Fallout 3. I hadn't heard anything about it until launch day and my brother told me to go get it, so I did. I have put over 900 hours into it now.

In 2005 I saw Morrowind: GOTY edition in a Media Play store, and decided to buy it. Fast forward a few months and I'd sunk God knows how many hours into that game. Hell last year I played through it a few more times. I love that game.

Okami. Spotted it on a shelf in Gamestation, vaguely remembered a review, bought it, took it home and played the best video game I have ever played in my entire fucking life.

Football Manager 2008 and 2010. I only own those two FM games, but I'm always playing them.

I had no idea about Mass Effect before I brought it. And the rest writes itself... 140+ hours of space travel!

Same for World of Warcraft and Halo. I might of gotten married and had kids if not for these games.

Minecraft.
Why!!!
It's so damn addicting, and I haven't even played the classic part yet. Atm, I'm trying to make a subway system with redstone to link my houses, and I can't stop playing

Hitman 2 Silent Assassin way back in my PS2 days... it got me into the entire series (and genre).

More recently... I rented the Saboteur... and promptly misplaced 4 days of my life.

Err, I kinda already picked up ClaDun, and I'm already struggling to find time to play it between Monster Hunter, God Eater, Phantasy Star Portable 2. Time's taken up as it is right now...

I bought Fire Emblem 11: Shadow Dragon on a complete whim because I thought Marth was pretty cool in Smash Brothers.

I could not put it down.

As of today, I've played FE 4 through 11 and beaten 6 through 11 on their hardest difficulties. And I'm waiting for FE 12. A game I bought on a random whim became my favorite series.
