Ever seen a gory RTS game?

So I was wondering if there were any gory RTS games out there? If it's gory it also has to be graphics heavy too. Especially since it's and RTS. Some say Men of War and and SC2, I can't say much about SC2 because I haven't played it before, but Men of War is more realism based than gore.Even though you can set people on fire and blow them up etc, I find it more funny than gory.

So something along the lines of an RTS Horror game. Does such a thing even exist?

Considering that SC has the case of men exploding into body parts, Zerg spattering, and so on - neverminding the horrific look of ANYTHING Zerg - I would call it a yes. Not sure about others. That's where YOU come in!

Some of the melee finishing moves in Dawn of War are pretty brutal. Dreadnoughts snap infantry units' backs and throw them away for example.

Yeeaaaaaah Dawn of War is really grim haha^_^ very good RTS actually. Not a HUGE fan of number 2, but was good nonetheless!

Dawn of War 2 is pretty gory, which is to be expected due to the setting... some units are gory just by their sheer appearance (e.g. Chaos Units, a Warboss with a Boss Pole and most units adorned with trophies).


Not only are the synch kills gory, but the rest of the normal, standard kills usually shed bucket of blood or make units explode with body parts flying about (especially plasma weapons).

I think it's about a gory as a RTS game you're going to find, but a bit of a problem with this genre is that the far point of view usually hides a lot of the gore and bloodshed. You really only appreciate it if you zoom the camera in close, which usually isn't the most practical view for playing these types of games.

Already been said but Dawn of war is pretty gory and amazing, for example Necron Flayed One's = evil robot killing machines with massive claw that also drape themselves in the skin of dead enemies.

The Golden Horde, Fate of Hellas, and Ancient Wars: Sparta - sadly, they're really only notable for having large numbers of blood particles.

Nnnnn... not too sure about the Flayed Ones... I kept thinking... looking a bit pink, there, eh, chaps!

But yeah, definitely, the synch kills by the Marines, Chaos Chosen going ape shit, and all the walker units have pretty brutal animations. That said, it's definitely bloody, but not necessarily gory...

Still, it's difficult to have good gore in the larger RTS's since you are looking down from on high at little men you are ostensibly not supposed to care about being sent to kill and be killed (preferably with distinctly more of the former). So having that done a few thousand times over in a battle (TW...) is going to melt your GPU. It's only the 'small-scale' (e.g. DoW II) skirmish RTS's that can really afford to do that... *shrug* (perhaps I just have a shite computer and am bitter... *shrug*)

A horror RTS?
Well, Incubation is a horror strategy game but it's turn based.
I think for some real gore, you had to get a mod/patch or something but there's was a decent amount of blood anyway, if I remember correctly.

I played this game on the PS1 called.... "Kill Krush N Destroy (KKnD)" It was pretty violent if the younger me remembers correctly.... (Oh and there was a sequel... KKnD Krossfire that was EVEN BETTER!)
