Let me get this out of the way, in the end we're all horrible people to some degree. As much as we may want to support something we love, we can also want to see something spiral down to utter failure and disgrace so we can dance around it like island savages in glory. Or to put it simply, we can also hate. :p

Anyways, I hate Lara Craft. I hate everything she represents. I mean... when they created her, the developers pretty much thought "You know how Indiana Jones would have been more baddass? If he was a she and had stonking great tits and 90s "fuck the world in a nonchalant way" attitude. Yeah wouldn't that be better.

Well, the new Lara Croft is obviously the game I'm rooting to fail in misery, and the only thing that's stopping my bitterness from driving me mad and turning me towards voodoo and looking up black magic and curses on google search is the undeniable fact that if the game did fail as miserably as I wanted, a whole lot of people would probably be getting canned because of it.

But still, if there was some magical way that wouldn't happen... Lara Croft would still be my candidate.

Anyways, enough with my rant, what's yours?

lol

The new DmC. The only way I could see myself okay wit the game is if it turns out to be the room of videogames. Everything about it is just terrible, from the story and characters to the gameplay. Though Laura and Dante do have something in common, they were too 90's and over the top fun so they had to be rebooted with 50x more dirt and edgyness.

If it's from Zynga, then I'll definitely want it to flop. A successful Zynga game suggests that exploitative lackluster games are where the money's at.

I'd love to see a call of duty game fail.. like completely.

It might make Activision make some more original game ideas....

Well, I'm wanting Lara to succeed more than anything else, ever. Guess that makes us mortal enemies.

As for me, I was previously hoping that COD:Blops II would fail miserably. After hearing about it covering the Nicaraguan Contra War, and that it was done in an 'MERICA! light despite how renown they were at the time for exploiting the hell out of them and being generally immoral about the whole thing...well, a part of me boiled into hot, white rage. Call me overly political, but that is not something I'd be doing, America. Not at all. Of course, my wishes were always going to be dumbfounded, because you just can't beat misplaced and delusional patriotism.

And of course, every sports game ever.

I wanted to see Section 8 fail from the get-go. They blatantly displayed that they were just trying to beat Halo rather than make a solid game on its own.

'___-killer' games are not made for the right reasons.

I wanted Duke Nukem forever to fail. Looking at it happen seemed like getting a bunch of kids to paint a mural. In theory it sounds like a cheap way to have a wall painted, with images from the touching imagination of youth. What you get however is a grotesque collage of indecipherable meaning and crude experience. In the end it costs you more to have it painted over and replaced.

Nope. I'm not petty enough to want to see a game fail just because I don't like it. Rather than wishing it would fail I just ignore it.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Every game blizzard has released in the last few years since I have a personal vendetta against them, and the drm on d3 pisses me off and it would be nice to see that kinda shit finally stop people from buying something.

I'll second, or twelve, this.

There's something VERY humbling when a big name fails.

I'd also add the life of 'glorified patches' that are the EA Sports titles.

I want Tom Clancy games to fail in their current state. I don't see Ubi/Red Storm taking them back to their roots as hard tactical planned operational shooters or actual STEALTH games if they keep being successful in their current form. damn do I love those games but damn have they deteriorated with time.

I also want MMFPS's to fail (modern military first person shooters) with the exception of Battlefield and CoD. I hate CoD, but CoD does what CoD is, best - and no clone does it better. I want it to buckle. Lose a good million or so customers next year, but not die. It's like a honeytrap for the scummy adolescence and immature adults of gaming. Without it they'd flood all other titles and genres.

Call Of Duty games mostly
Although (as much as I used to love them) Robot's Orcs Must Die 2 for completely abandoning the XBLA market despite all the support the community gave them.
I did kind of want Duke Nukem to fail
Sims games...

I am with you on the DRM. My first post on this topic was originally about how I dislike business practices such as DRM, locked on disc "DLC", consumer of product reduced to tester of said product, multiplayer as a must, Yearly release standards as applied to non yearly release games. I felt the post got to be too off topic, so I scraped it instead going with my post about how I wanted Duke Nukem Forever to fail.

Failure is a chance to learn. The learning process may not always be fair. That being said, I would like to see publisher driven short sighted business practices fall before development companies, any one specific game or the industry as a whole.

I actually want to see The Last of Us fail miserably. I actually have no idea why, but I want it to suck. I wanted NFS MW to suck, and luckily, it did. The first one was great, and I knew Criterion would fuck it up. Also, I'm out for blood against Activision for shutting down Eurocom and greedily hogging Crash's license. Although, I suppose it's better that they have it and aren't using it...

Two I can think of.

The new Tomb Raider, though for different reasons than the OP. I liked the original games, and the reboot just seems to be trying too hard to be dark and edgy and 'mature' for the sake of it. I've get to get the feeling that the creative team feels anything but contempt for the history of the series - they just come across as really really not liking the original games.

The other would be The Old Republic, and that was a combination of the unbelievable unbearable arrogance that Bioware displayed in the run up to and immediately following its release, and the fact that the game itself was so crushingly unimaginative it just didn't deserve to be a success.

But that was then. Now the founders have slunk off into retirement and the game itself has gone F2P, faster than even I expected it to, I don't have any hate for it anymore - even kind of hope it recovers because it's not awful, just terribly terribly average.

Besides, there's no point in kicking a man once he's not only down but bleeding out...

Game fail, not really any. Certain publishers somehow royally screw up, I'd take that.
