I saw you playing AoE 2 HD on steam, is it as crappy as I've been hearing? Cos that was all I played as a kid, it'd suck if the port is bad.

Possible "faults"
1. the game is locked to your monitor's refresh rate. (mine is 61 khz)
2. game mechanics in modern games have changed to a new, better standard this this game has, for example you can't zoom in and out.
3. there are no graphical settings because the game is kinda a decade old and will run on a toaster. Have a shitty pc? You're still running it at max graphics, same as if you had a $5,000 beast.

This is the same game you played as a kid, only you can have it in your steam library and play it at greater resolutions then 1280x1024. Also you have achievements and the cheats that you have momorised work with the achievements.

What's not to like?

Ages of Empires 2 huh? I can pick up the original with all expansions for cheap anyway, awesome game.

The first felt kinda meh to me, but I did drop it rather quickly as it didn't hold my interest. Ah the times when I was very twitchy in my game tastes...
