I post here and in the Dota group, and lurk in the Brovengers out of habit.

Every time I look in the main forums I just nope right out again. How are people still mad about Mass Effect and Sarkeesian?

I did a count, if anyone's wondering.

There are 18 warnings, 3 suspensions, and 3 bans in that thread so far.

Those 3 bans were probably from those troll accounts that popped up. Granted the ones that made accounts just to argue in that thread should also be banned in my opinion but that's just me XD

Oh well nothing of value was lost with him. I can understand wanting to be banned but you don't have to be a dick about it. Also what's so hard about just not logging into your profile? That way you can come back to it if you want to and if not then it just sits there forever.

So yahtzee changed his transexual joke on the last ZP episode. Kind of disappointed that he caved under the pressure. Just goes to show if you ***** enough then it's bound to be taken down.

Also what's so hard about just not logging into your profile? That way you can come back to it if you want to and if not then it just sits there forever.

I actually asked someone who (politely) requested a ban.

The reason is that it shows they're no longer on this site anymore. Because all their posts are 'faded out', no one's going to quote them or send them PMs.

If someone just abandons their account, posts of theirs might still get quoted, and people might still send them PMs, and wonder why they're not getting a reply.

So yeah, that's the reason.

Still though, some people (like that guy I linked) are very rude about requesting a ban, which is very much uncalled for.

Still seems like a stupid reason to me. If you're not using the account anymore or don't check the escapist anymore then it won't matter if they quote or pm you since you won't see them. Now if they were in the middle of a huge flamewar then i could see then the reasoning behind it. But regardless to he his own, though that doesn't give you the right to be a douche about it.

Well I left for awhile because of emotional issues coupled with school and stuff. Most people leave because they are either trolls or can't stand the majority of the other users here. The white knights are strong with this place.

I think it's the constant white knights and the fact that people get up in arms over the most worthless things. Seriously Circumcision is comparable to religion threads or the fast rising Transexual threads. It just makes you go "Why" so often that may push people away.

That, on top of the latest ZP shitstorm, on top of that 'pixelated boobs' shitstorm the other week.

When it rains it pours eh? I think it may be growing pains from Susan and Nasrin leaving but it does not instill confidence in you. Granted the Target thread was a head scratching level of stupidity to be honest. Seeing the way people react to ads and how there has been so much backlash already it's not the smartest move to go and do something that people here are known to hate. Though it must be really annoying to get all those reports in the mod queue over that thread already

The mod that wrathed it probably made a mistake. (It wasn't me)

Once a post has been wrathed, mods can't increase the punishment, nor can we take the punishment away. Only the staff can do those things.
So I'd recommend bringing it up in the mod group, if you wish to pursue it.

Eh might PM JonB if I can force myself out of the laziness of life. Though bringing it up in the mod group might start up a debate that I don't want to start. So I'll just avoid posting it in the group to try and avoid any possible war, ESPECIALLY with the escapist in the state that it is currently.
