Hype is saying planty of people are exited for a game they've never played.
Hype is claiming delaying a game close to a date chosen at random, or worse a specific date, chosen by the marketting department, is somehow a bad thing. When the previous year is full of games that should have been delayed and weren't, when Gamers universally applauded CD Projekt Red for actually delaying for the 2nd time, because it's not finished.

Hype is embedding a Cinematic Trailer in the Article.
Hype is selling Merchadise for said game.
Hype is publicising "Awsome" DLC before games even released.
Hype is using the Game maker as the only source for any post.

The OP is nothing but hype and you don't even notice the hype is there at all.

As for the game it's "Fun" until the basic mechanics are figured out, then the Monster can get trounced by positioning alone.
Finally, this says it all.
"Now, with Evolve through certification, we're turning our attention to any lessons we can learn from the Open Beta next week.
You're supposed to do that and fix them as well, before release, not after.

Huh? You have a problem with that? Nah, man...get it on the shelves. Get the folks to buy it. THEN turn your attention to addressing the issues found in beta testing. Wait...that isn't how it should be? Well hell! Sorry! That seems to be what all the other "AAA" game makers have been doing lately. I just assumed it was because they found that provided the best "experience."

Where I live (Canada) Evolve is $70. For one game. That isn't actually released yet. $70. At this point I just don't care how good it is, that is hella overpriced.

i saw some gameplay vids a while back and it looked ok but nothing new , seems to be about out cheesing the enemy and boring each other to death a bit too much for me, but i am curious does everyone fly now? as what i saw had people firmly rooted to the floor

What's odd to me is that the more gameplay videos I watch, the less impressed I am. I'm really worried about balance in this game. I saw a video of someone using Bucket's UAV, flying it searching for the monster. When he returned to controlling bucket, his team was leagues ahead of him. It got me thinking either:
- your team stands around while you UAV, hope you spot the monster, and then they can pursue it, but if you don't, you just gave the monster free rein to level up

or

- your team hightails it trying to find the monster on their own (probably with the lady that has the "dog") while UAV guy stands there twiddling his thumbs hoping to spot the monster, only to then have to regroup with his team that may or may not have already been on the monster's trailer.

It made the UAV ability seem useless to me. Likewise, the harpoon mines. While I think their purpose of ensnaring the monster is cool, every video that I've seen appeared to show them being snapped pretty easily. I wonder "you make them too weak, they're pointless. You make them too difficult to break, they become game-breakingly overpowered." If the game plays well (looking at you, AssCreed), I still worry about the constant ebb and flow of trying to make something worthwhile, without rendering something else obsolete. There's likely going to be that combination of hunters that just works better than any other, and that's what most people will play. Some will ask that changes be made to make other combinations worth using, while others will say "leave it alone."

This reminds me of Gears of War 3 and the nonsense that was the Sawed Off shotgun debate. I hate it, because it looks like fun, and I do like the potential lore of the universe, but I'll probably sit this one out.
