Now I'm sure everyone here hates that one food dish or really any kind of food that everyone else seems to love... or at least I'm going to assume for the sake of this thread. So, it's pretty simple. What kind of food that everyone else seems to love, that you cannot stand?

Mine is Guacamole. Everyone I know loves it and I can't stand it. I mean first off, it looks like someone just vomited all over my taco, nachos, or burrito. I don't want my food to look like it has vomit on it. Next is the taste, what the hell is it? I can't even describe the taste besides weird and terrible. I've given it so many chances from authentic to homemade and I still can't stand it. Just seeing people eat it makes me a little sick.

Looking at the pic, I just want to dump a bit of Patron in it, along with some salt and pepper and maybe a squeeze of lime, and go to town with some chips.

Crap served up at McDonalds, including their fries, is about the only thing I can't touch that many seem to have no problem with. Odd...

Fish skin. Whenever I eat fish I always have to take the skin off and leave it. Really tends to make eating fish a pain in the ass, which is why I mostly eat my fish as sashimi since that's always served without the skin. Then again, I'm not exactly sure if that qualifies since it's not really a dish by itself. I really can't think of anything else though, I'm very open minded when it comes to food, I even enjoy sea urchin which all my friends tell me "tastes like slimy."

Korean food always gets me. I can eat some of the weirder stuff, like blood clot soup(it is what the name says)and some of the more...interesting seafood dishes, but for the life of me I can't stand kimchi.

I don't like seafood at all, so... I guess take your pick really. Basically, if it's been in the water I'm really not very keen on eating it :p

Mashed potatoes
Mashed potatoes.
Mashed potatoes.

Bleugh, I actually feel queasy just thinking about it. Especially when people add milk and butter and whatever else their twisted little minds can think of.
It's the texture, it's revolting.

I have never liked it but I used to have a child-minder who would serve mashed potatoes all of the time and she would make me sit at my plate until she thought I had eaten enough of them. I remember I used to push it around my plate so it looked like I'd eaten more or smuggle it to the bathroom in my jumper and flush it down the toilet. One time she made me sit there for more than three hours while she tried to force me to eat it until I started to dry heave or she caught me doing my smuggling routine and slapped me. In retrospect, it probably wasn't even that hard but I'd never been slapped before or since so it was a huge shock to me. My mom pulled me out of there pretty shortly afterwards.

So yeah, I think that was when I became properly repulsed by them.

Bro, like, how does this not look delicious:

All warm and creepy-- agh, I mean, creamy, mmmmmmmmmmm...

OT: Scrambled eggs and ketchup.

*Shudders* Just... just why? Why would you ruin such an amazing food like that?! D:

As a 'Murican, Ketchup has a place on one thing. That is a hot dog. Ketchup, grilled onions and peppers, and some fancy schmancy mustard. Other than that, yeah, it's pretty gross.

I suppose I should have mentioned mayo. It's more or less lard. I've never felt the need to dump lard on anything I've wanted to eat. My wife loves mayo. I don't understand how she stays skinny and still eats that crap.

That's a tricky one. I have to look pretty hard to find a food I don't like.

Oysters served cold I guess.

I don't hate them, but I don't see why one would pay money for them. They taste like salty little lumps of gristle. Not the worst taste ever, but not something I'd seek out.

Oh, and zucchini.

When I was little I went to a dinner cooked by my uncle, and it involved whole boiled zucchini. Seriously. Just a zucchini boiled until it went soft. It was so disgusting that I was uncontrollably gagging whenever I tried to swallow a bit. And the whole time my mum was glaring at me and hissing that I'd better damn well eat it or my uncle would be insulted. And ever since I've never been able to eat zucchini unless it's sliced super thin and covered up with other flavour. Same goes for eggplant.

Casu marzu, also known as maggot cheese.

It's doesn't make me dry-heave or gag but It's something that really makes me wonder why people would want to eat something that has its 'flavor and texture' comes from maggot defecation.

I hate Pumpkin. Roast pumpkin, pumpkin soup, pumpkin scones, it doesn't matter, if it has pumpkin in it I'm not eating it.

My whole family is Norwegian descent as recent as their grandparents. They all super love lutefisk, but I think it's disgusting. Hot dogs are also nasty. They make me nauseous after one bite.

Macaroni and Cheese.

That seems to be relatively popular. Especially during big holiday dinners as a side. But I hate the stuff. Hate, hate, hate it. It always seems either too slimy or too thick and gunky.

Just not a fan.

While I don't actively dislike tomato sauce, I do think people put way too much of it on way too many things.

It just overpowers any other taste. You might as well drink the sauce straight and be done with it. Plus a lot of tomato sauces are nauseatingly sweet. They taste less like tomato and more like sugar.

Although I suppose I shouldn't preach too hard. I've been known to commit similar sins with relish or sweet chili sauce.

I can't stand anything spicy. It just hurts my mouth and I can't taste anything. Even the weakest spicy food is too much for me. I guess I just never developed a resistance to it.
The other thing that my family has frequently is Ghoulash. Damn is that disgusting. There isn't a single part of a Ghoulash that I enjoy, since I'm also afflicted with having to eat vegetarian Ghoulash even the 'mince' is nasty.

Surströmming; it's fermented herring. Not that bad, tastewise... the problem is that in order to eat it, you need to get past the smell of rot. It doesn't look that good when you open the can either.

And then we have its older, meaner cousin with a prison record: Hákarl, or poisonous Shark that's been fermented for several months.

Ginger. Ever since my friend got me to eat a chunk of raw ginger I've stayed away from anything that contains it like it's got a goddamn plague.

All cooked vegetables (except potatoes), raw asparagus, celery, peppers, cauliflower, broccoli, etc. As you can see, my sensory defensiveness severely limits what vegetables I can eat and how I can eat them.
