Avocado (or guacamole which in my mind since guac is made from avocados is the same damn thing). It especially sucks living in So Cal and not liking it because everyone likes it with everything (including my own mother) and then when I say I don't like it looks at me like I just blasphemed(which to them I have).
Tomatoes. I like em in fresh salsa. That's about it. I don't like their texture otherwise nor do I like their taste and the only reason I can eat them in salsa is the other spices that go into it. This might also have to do with my mother tricking me as a child and telling me that a tomato was an orange and then me biting into it and finding out it was a tomato and not an orange (though she denies that happening I have a very clear memory of it). Though apparently up until a year or so before that I use to love tomatoes......
Onions. Again, only in salsa. Can't even eat onion rings anymore (though that's true with most fried food now my stomach just doesn't like the grease).
Peppers. I LOVE spicy and hot foods. Absolutely love them. Can't eat peppers for the life of me. I can cook with them for flavour but after I'm done cooking, if there is no one there that likes em I have to throw them away.
Fast food. Jack in the Box is sometimes ok. As is In-N-Out. Everything else? Their food is too greasy for my tastes (and seriously what the fuck has McDonald's done with their fries that you now get not only an aftertaste of grease but your mouth and hands feel greasy for hours afterwards....? Most disgusting feeling in the world)
Fried Chicken. I use to bread and cook the shit. For a year and a half. In bulk. And had to taste test it. It is the most vile and evilest thing I can ever think of.
Ketchup on anything that isn't a hamburger, fries, or sausage of some sort(though even the latter is iffy depending on the sausage). I absolutely can NOT eat around some of my friends because of their insane love of slathering EVERYTHING with ketchup. I like it as a condiment don't get me wrong but I don't want to taste only that. I want to taste the food I'm dipping it in.
Sushi. I can't tell you how many sushi invitations I've declined this month alone already. The last time I tried it was "california rolls" which I've heard aren't real sushi anyway(but I've had other sushi besides that just can't remember because it's been forever...ok 10 years or so) and I got sick and threw up.
Salmon. I have had it prepared so many different ways and I always wind up in the bathroom afterwards puking my guts out. I was in a cooking school thing for work back when I was a cook and they did salmon one day and made me try it since I don't have an outright allergy to it and they didn't believe me until I spent the next half hour in the bathroom and they had to send one of the girls in after me.
Powdered Parmesan cheese. Who the fuck thought that was a good idea? I LOVE fresh Parmesan cheese. But the powdered shit? Tastes disgusting, looks disgusting, smells disgusting and doesn't taste like Parmesan cheese.
Pineapple and Mango. The texture on both is off to me. I can't explain it, it just is. And the taste is horrible. And pineapple is so horribly acidic it upsets my stomach.
Coconut. Texture is weird in a bad way to me and it upsets my stomach
Milk chocolate and white chocolate. First off white chocolate isn't really chocolate. Secondly both upset my stomach horribly and I WISH PEOPLE WOULD STOP TRYING TO FORCE ME TO EAT BOTH OF THEM.
Mayonnaise/Ranch. This shit is vile and disgusting. I had to make it in bulk a few times when I was working as food prep/cook. I can't properly put into text how much I despise the both of these (ok actually only had to make the ranch but dear fuck do you know how much mayo is put into it??????)
And fucking American beer. I'm talking shit like Budweiser and Corona and Coors and the other shit that gets regularly advertised (yes Sam Adams too). How do people drink that piss water?!?!? And then tell me I'm weird because I like Canadian and UK ciders? At least those have a flavour other than someone pissing into their glass....
So yeah, basically I'm a horrible californian and don't know "good" food according to everyone else but they all marvel at my love of raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, melons, oranges, frozen grapes (in the summer only), and blackberries.....Californians are weird....
