I like exams, but only if I properly prepare for them. There's a decent sense of OH YEAH NAILED IT if you can achieve it.

However, first year of maths in uni was not like is at all and I felt violated by those exams.

I think it might be me ad not them.

How boring struggles against the patriarchy are *scoffscoffscoff*.
Are you being sarcastic? Either way I don't really care, it's a really dull subject and even the girls in my class hated doing it. Even this one girl I know who's like an ultra-feminist disliked the subject when it actually came to doing it according to the curriculum.
I am being sarcastic. The importance of what actually happened should be remembered, but I agree with you; those suffragettes are bloody boring. I'm glad I'm learning about Russians killing each other. Never a dull moment with those crazy Russkies.

Just sat the most horrendous, horrible, terrible, evil maths paper today. Definitely failed. Teaches me, not studying.....

I've got university exams coming up. They count for 70%... 70 fucking percent! It's just plain evil. Giving some one 2 hours to write about WWI is not a good measure of how good a historian they are but noooooooooooooooo.... The coursework part of the module is only 30% and that takes up far more time. It's ridiculous.

I remember having to resit two of my Law exams back when I was doing A-level because I only managed to answer half of the questions.
History at Aber eh? That's my firm choice :D

But yes...OT, I've had a few January AS resits, and they were violently bad. The head of 6th form wrote a complaint to the exam board about the History exam...the whole paper was on a tiny sidenote, out of the whole textbook.

I don't mind test and quizes and such all too much. I don't study and I still do fine so maybe I'm just a freak or something.

Never had much problem with tests. Now, make-work and projects... those... those damnable things are wretched.

Makes me glad I had the foresight to drop biology after AS, though the maths C3 paper last week was evil to continue the tradition of evil maths papers I've had to take. At least it can't follow the current trend of my maths grades, there's nothing lower than a U.
No I don't know why I still do maths.

Saying this my psychology exam was piss easy and statistics was a joke.

Aren't the exam board great? They even gave our Biology class the wrong set of marks last year, almost dropping the entire class by a full grade, and they STILL haven't fixed it.

I had an exam on object-oriented software development last Thursday. It was fairly easy, although I was beat that night. Might have something to do with going to a gig the night before, then going to a club, and staying up all night. Maybe not the best of ideas before an exam, but ah well. The game design exam two days prior to that was murder though, partly because some of the concepts are so obscure, and partly because I didn't really prepare for it, heh.

Aber does have a really good history department and some sound lecturers as well as a REALLY good history section in the library. The only problem with it is the exams but you'll get that anywhere.

Holy Hell, I remember my A Levels. I took English lit/lang, psychology, media and art, so all of my exams were essay style, and by the time I was done my hands was swollen to nearly twice the size from trying to write an informed and balanced essay in just an hour.

That being said, the highlight of my A level torture was getting 100% on one of my exams. I've never had to do a resit, but I know people who have and they seem like torture - an extra exam just to pile on the pressure a bit more.

Well, I study animation at university now, and there are no exams - still a lot of essays though!

I'm hoping I've just winged 40% so I dont have to retake the module.

:S
This is the best thing about Uni. You can get by being all apathetic towards the modules you hate because its fairly difficult to actually fail one if you put even a cursory amount of work in toward it, and that one module will only be worth at most %12ish (for me anyway, assuming its a third year module. 1st and 2nd where worth nothing and %5 respectively).

Yeah, this is exam season for me. Only failed the first one, had fairly decent grades in the others, and finally passed a subject I had failed 3 times before. It was kind of my nemesis in university.

But usually I don't have much of a problem with exams.

In fact, I've got another one on Wednesday.

What do you mean 'I should be studying'?

You probably sat the same one I did, AQA Unit 4 Biology. There was a question about a sticky white liquid in some tubes... The examiners call it "faunagoo".
