Ironically this was the least mature video I've seen this week.

Yelling a lot and telling Hyrule to "suck a dick" only makes you sound like a 12 year old.

Makes me even more glad I didn't buy Darksiders 2 :)
I've got both Darksiders games in my Steam library. I consider them as quirky little additions that are fun to have, and it's fun to play through either of them from a game design perspective. The whole package doesn't have one original bone in its body but, hey, it sure has Joe Madueira's thematic blessings!

It's like watching an over-excited kid going "Me too! Me too! METOOMETOOMETOO!" while jumping up in down - in video game form.

Both games are baseline-level competent and I do like Michael Wincott's performace as Death, but everything else needs a serious reworking in the hands of someone who didn't grow up on Todd McFarlane or Rob Leifeld's productions.

While Darksider 2 does have a Zelda feel to it, it's not really Zelda.
Zelda is an action adventure with a heavy focus on adventure.
Darksiders 2 is an action adventure with a heavy focus on action.

The difference is big.

And I did buy the game.

Look, I think the overall point is true - D2 is really a kind of Zelda and exactly as mature as the fanbois screeching for a "hardcore Zelda" want. But it's not Zelda.

See, the fanbois like Zelda. But...it looks so colorful, so kiddy, so...so...so not MANRY. So obviously the solution isn't getting a game that is exactly what they want, no, it's demanding Zelda to change.

Playing D2 wouldn't let them pretend that Zelda is SO MATURE NOW!!11one. It's about ego, not the actual game.
See, this confuses me, because I've met a lot of gamers, many of them fans of the Zelda series, and while I don't suppose to be an expert on the fandom (Or even the games, Twilight Princess is the only one I've actually beaten) I have never heard even one single person say anything along the lines of "I would love this game more if it were more gritty/mature."

Is there a joke I'm missing here, or maybe some irony? Or have I just been blessed to not have met these people that want a fanciful puzzle adventure staple turned into a dreary dull-toned God of War clone?

Speak for yourself. I never asked for a hardcore Zelda. Esp. considering "Hardcore" basically means inspired by the local Goth clique's poetry diary.

I have been watching ScrewAttack for years. Finally they have some recognition besides YouTube and some obscure gaming magazine (NAG - New Age Gaming).
