Lorel Ion ? Mo

?Alright. I, Scarlett, and Vergil will take point with the patrol groups and such.? Velen spoke turning to go tell Nashia.

Itsuka was helping Telnor up and Lorel decided to help so she wouldn?t get worn out. He noticed Vessel talking to an old man but decided to not get involved. They were just traveling to make things easier, but most likely would break up in the North. So he didn?t want to get involved in their business. Soon the sun was starting to set and Guardians began to take out torches.

Nashia once more addressed the group which Lorel noticed Velen standing next to her. ?Everyone, it?s time to move out!? The large gates began to open up revealing the mountain pass. Snow covered most of its tracks. ?Follow me. I know it?s late, but we can?t delay to the next day. We Guardians got some business to take care of in the near future and we must get done with this. Now let?s move!?

Nashia turned and so did everyone and in a giant motion everyone began to move through the gates. Lorel began to use small bits of magic to heat his body which traveled onto Telnor heating him as well. Itsuka with her heavy clothes and bags had a happy face on, obviously happy that they were finally moving.

While it had plagued him this whole time. It was truly sinking in, his parent?s death, meeting Velen and everyone and then fighting in Grim? By this time, he was supposed to be attending a school dance, meeting people and enjoying life. Now he was on the run for his life, and now was part of something much bigger than he is.

The big question plagued his mind?

Can I do this..?

Two days passed?

Telnor awoke from his blindness and began to be able walk so there was less stress on everyone. Lorel began to simply chat with Itsuka since everyone else was doing their own stuff and Velen, Vergil, and Scarlett where helping with the patrols.

Velen ? Northern Mountain Pass

?I don?t see anything? Any signs of bandits?? Asked one of the Guardians.

Velen had done a good search. ?I think it may be clear. Don?t see any bandits or any traces. Then again with all this snow. It is a bit hard to tell.?

?Okay, let?s us three go back,? the third man being another Guardian. ?Once we stop again. We can send Vergil or Scarlett out on another patrol.?

?Sound?s good.?

They returned to camp shortly and everyone began to get ready, they stepped into a small little Cave where Nashia was. She nodded her head as they entered. ?No signs of bandits. The way should be clear.?

?Good. If this keeps up, we should be out of this mountain pass in the next two days. Faster than usual. But don?t let up. Even when you guys are just patrolling out the people. Keep on your best.?

?Right.?

Vergil Crawford - Campsite - Northern Mountain Pass

It had been at least two days since the group had left the district of Mo, en-route to the North. During that time, they had encountered a few small bandit groups, but they were un-coordinated, and rather sloppy in their ambushes, this meant that they were easily dealt with.

Vergil assisted The Vessel in patching up some of the wounds that the group had suffered, granted, the ones he personally dealt with were only minor ones, but at least they were appreciative of his contribution. Vergil had also been looking through the Assassin's Journal again during the brief periods when he wasn't out on patrol with the Guardians, hoping to discover a new type of explosive to try, once they had reached the North. He seemed to focus more so on tactical or diversionary types, rather then the lethal ones, although he did look at those a couple of times.

Whilst he was on patrol, Vergil thought it decent of himself to talk to the Guardians about his life as a mercenary thief. The general feedback he got was one of general interest, as he told them of some of his more famous/infamous exploits. There had been a few who were dubious of him at first, but they seemed to be understanding of it afterwards.

Vergil was back at camp, and noticed that The Vessel seemed to be by herself, so he thought he'd keep her company for a while. He made his way to the cliff edge that she was sitting on, its was near to the camp, so they could get back to it in a moments notice. Vergil sat himself down next to The Vessel and engaged in some conversation.

"Certainly is a picturesque scene isn't it." Vergil remarked as he looked at the surrounding area in front of them.

Vergil responded to The Vessel pointing out a tower in particular.

"Certainly has its elegance and charm, reminds me of someone close by." Vergil remarked with, he then answered her question about ****.

"No, after **** ignored my statement back in Mo, I haven't really been paying that much attention to ****. Besides, between going out on patrols, and helping back at camp where and whenever I can, I haven't had much time for talking, especially with ****."

Scarlett Verneer - Northern Mountain Pass - Mo

The faintest of sounds carried on the screaming wind that swept across the edge of the mountain, Scarlett Verneer stopped in her tracks and raised her left arm to signal the three Guardian Soldiers following behind to stop and take cover. Kneeling down behind what looked like a fallen boulder from the ledge above she felt the damp cold of the snow begin to seep through her leather leggings, Scarlett ignored it, and re-focused her gift on mapping the sound of the trail ahead. A narrow path of broken stone and ice that wound its way along the very edge of the mountain, clinging to the exposed rock. She closed her eyes to help focus her ability and heard for the second time the faint sound of movement. The Guardian Soldiers all looked at her with an expectant expression, she turned back and nodded to confirm their instincts. Someone, or something, was waiting for them ahead.

Scarlett drew her knife. With careful movements she slowly emerged from behind the rock and peered out into the fast falling snow, that stung her exposed cheeks. Visibility was terrible and she failed to see any sign of movement in the snowfall ahead. Listening again she found that the sound had vanished and all remained quiet in the howling wind. Inhaling deeply Scarlett signalled back to the Guardian Soldiers to follow and together they emerged onto a section of exposed rock.

The small animal ran through Scarlett?s legs and vanished down the path. She laughed. Putting away her knife Scarlett turned to the Guardian Soldiers who seemed more relived than amused.

?It?s getting too dangerous, we should turn back now, and besides, any bandit looking to come this way is likely to fall to his death, long before he reaches us.?

There was no argument from anyone. The patrol returned to the cave in silence. Scarlett approached Nashia.

?Nothing along the mountain edge. The path breaks up after all while anyway so it?s unlikely any bandits would choose to come that way.?

Vergil Crawford - Campsite - Northern Mountain Pass

"Oh, sorry about that, I didn't know there was a 'the' to be added. I shall remember for the future. The offer does sound tempting, maybe when things are much calmer, I'll take you up on that. It would be nice to do something different for a change, don't kid me wrong, being a thief for hire is great, but it is nice to take a different approach to things every once in awhile." Vergil replied to the prospect of working with The Vessel in a some what pleasant tone of voice.

"Oh, and if you were wondering whether or not I just complimented you just now, consider that I did." Vergil added afterwards, a satisfied smirk appearing on his face. He then proceeded to stand up, being careful not to fall over the edge of the cliff.

Telnor- Northern Mountain Pass

Telnor sat by a fire looking at it. After a day his sight had returned and he could finally move around by himself again. He was extremely thankfully to Itsuaka and Velen helping him out and had admitted to them several times that he was in their debts, there was no way he would have made it anywhere safely without their help.

An ability that blinds the user after they use it. How useful, and I can't even use it whenever I want to. I'll need to find someone who can help me. An expert in this stuff. Someone who can train me to use it. Maybe I should train my other senses as well for when I'm blind so I don't need to depend on other people. I wonder if Dad ever had to deal with something like this. Telnor looked down at the hilt of his broken sword. Dad's sword is broken. Twelve years and it breaks. Telnor looked up at the sky. Clouds swirled over head. Twelve years since he died. Twelve years next month. Maybe I should see if we can't make a slight detour to see him. Telnor got up and stretched. He checked to make sure his dagger, his only weapon right now, was secure around his waist where he had moved it from his ankle.

Telnor looked around and decided to go to the cliff where he had seen Vessel and the Vergil go. Carefully, he made his way up.
"Hello you two. I'm not interrupting anything am I?"

Vergil Crawford - Campsite - Northern Mountain Pass

After he got up off the cliff edge, Vergil looked up to see that Telnor had arrived, asking if he was interrupting anything.

"No your not Telnor, me and The Vessel was just... talking really, nothing special. Anyway, what can we do for you?"

"I just needed to get away from the camp and to talk to someone. Not being able to see, it scares a man you know," Telnor stood at the edge of the cliff, looking out at endless sky.

"I was wondering if you two would be willing to try and help convince the others to take a detour to Cryka? I know a very good blacksmith there and there is a place there that I would like to visit since we are so close.

Vergil Crawford - Campsite - Northern Mountain Pass

"Look, sorry if I offended you in some way, and yes, I was complimenting you." Vergil remarked to an angered Vessel in a raised voice, but an apologetic tone. After calming down for a few moments, he addressed the query posed by Telnor.

"We can only but try Telnor. Sorry if this sounds like I'm prying into, what I can assume is a matter of a personal nature, but where is the place in Cryka that you need to visit, besides a blacksmith. Its just that, any information we have, may improve our chances of success." Vergil replied to Telnor question, a note of sympathy was held in his voice."

Tenor- Northern Pass
"Fair enough. If you are going to help its only fair that you know," Telnor looked down at the ground, his hands in his pockets and a sad look on his face. "Thirteen years ago my Dad got really sick. We traveled a lot so we didn't know what he had got. He was a really tough man so he figured he could power through it and be fine. We traveled to Cryka, where he final fell down and couldn't get back up again. The healers said that because he waited so long to get treatment that the illness had advanced to far and destroyed most of his body and there was nothing they could do for him. They sent for a magic healer who was more skilled then what they had where he had stopped. He arrived the day after Dad died," Telnor turned and faced Vessel and Vergil. "We buried him there in Cryka. Next month it will have been twelve years since he died. He lasted almost a year against his illness."

"I'm sorry Telnor, my condolences to you. Even though I did not know the man, by the way you described him, he seemed like to be a good man." Vergil apologised to Telnor after hearing the tale of his father. He placed his hand on his heart as a sign of respect.

"Hmm, let me just consult this map I have of the North section Telnor, I'll see which route is best to take for this detour." Vergil remarked as he pulled out a map from one of the inside pockets of his winter coat.

"Now then, judging by the arrangement of the mountains, it should be at least a two day journey to Vegan. If we did go to Cryka, in order to get back to Tinsdal, we could either go through Boesina, or we cut across the northern edge of Moonash.

"Then again, we have to take into consideration that Velen, Lorel, and Itsuka need to urgently get to Tinsdal. So it may be that the group has to temporarily split up in order to meet both objectives." Vergil concluded his analysis of the situation, and then returned the North section map to its place.

"Let me just have a word with Velen. I'll try my best Telnor, but I can't promise you anything." Vergil then excused himself between the two, and made his way to Velen, who was sitting down next to Itsuka and Lorel.

"Afternoon you three, I have a question/favour to ask of you."

?Yes? What is it Vergil?? Asked Lorel as he began to pick up some things as the camp was starting to prepare to move out once more.

Vergil proceeded to tell the grim tale of events.

"Its just that, when we reach the other side, Telnor would like to take a detour over to Cryka, there is the small personal matter of visiting his father's grave there. Apparently, next month, it would of been twelve years since his father died from some illness he received, which he managed to last for at least a year with before he couldn't get back up from it. The healers tried to cure him, but because of him not having it treated sooner, it was too advanced for them to cure. They even tried to get a more experienced healer, unfortunately, he arrived a day too late. Plus he needs to visit a friend of his who's a blacksmith for reasons I don't know."

Velen ? Northern Mountain Pass

Velen shook his head. ?That is truly sad, but I don?t think we can go with him. He can go on his own but with how things are proceeding, we don?t have time to go there. We can split up and you guys can go to Cryka. Lorel here had his whole family murdered, and because of what?s going on. Hasn?t even had the chance to real mourn for them. Even in the North, we can?t truly feel safe until we reach Tinsdal.?

"Okay then, I, and the others will respect your decision, the priorities that you have, come first in your eyes. Since that is the outcome, where shall we meet in Tinsdal, once our business in Cryka is finished?" Vergil replied with, he then got up off the seat he was on.
