Name: Hailen Ye'ala Age: 19 Section: South Gender: Male Personality: Indifferent to others after years of running from Mage Hunters who chased him from the South to the Middle. His personality to people he thinks he can trust is restful and kind though he approaches strangers and acquaintances with unease and a sense of doubt about their words and actions. Faction: No faction Bio: Hailen is a young water mage who fled the South fearing for his life after others found out his secret. In the Middle, he works as a healer on the streets of the Yeal district, tending to any sick or injured he finds though he works in vain. He tries to remain neutral in the hostile climate the factions create but he knows that one day, he'll have to pick a side. Despite his nature as a healer, Halien is proficient in combat with his magic, mainly firing small jets of water from his hands to distract foes before he goes in for a punch. Good, and one thing (not a criticsm) in the South there is a District, known as Forest, which is Upper Class. Forest District name comes from the fact that the Mages there have made the tree's there grow extreamly large and almost devours the homes. (Note: Just because it's name is Forest doesn't mean it is a Forest, it has many tree's but it is small, and no wild life live there as it is still an District.
But on to the point, Forest District is a Mage Only District which is ruled by power Ultimate Tier Mages. The District was formed early on in the City's district so it was too late before the District could be conquored by any Anti-Mages.
Just putting that out there so you can choose to use it or not.
I kind of like the story of being chased by Mage Hunters because it adds to the character having trust issues but thank you for taking the time to give that bit of information. That was kind of you
Also, is the Yeal district in the Middle? I was just picking a Lower Class district for the character to work in but I was didn't want to put Emerald because the Osaians use that as their main. I'd rather not have my character under constant threat of being murdered by a cult xD
No problem, also yes, Yeal is in the Middle, I edited the District section to show what Districts where mentioned in what Section they're in. Note, you can make up your own Districts for personal use.
Personality: Lorel is light hearted but serious, and often times doesn?t have time to joke around, though in familiar environment he will be more lax. But when push comes to shove, he will stand up for those who are in need, a bit of a Moral High ground.

(drawn myself)
Bio: Born into a wealthy mage family in Upper District, he enjoyed life and attended his academy. He made friends and practiced magic, specifically his two favorite elements, Fire and Ice. His family, the Ion family, was one of the eight nobles, a rich and powerful family, one of the best. This allowed him to get the best of teachers and anything he wanted. Though he was fairly moderate and didn't use his resources often.
He felt that if he used his family's wealth to achieve his goals, it wouldn't feel right. As a child, he was best-friends with Amelia, now head of Upper District. She helped him with magic, since her magic is the best in the land, and this allowed him to become more powerful. Though none were close to hers. When he was going to go into the upper class part of the Academy, his life fell into ruins.
The other noble families went to his family and killed all of them. They had been discovered to be in works with Steel Heart to take control of Upper District. He, the last living member of Ion, was banished, kicked out. Amelia, before this, was going to take head of Upper District and no longer cared for him. Now he was all alone, he now wonders the city, trying to make a new life.
Other Info: Mainly a Fire and Ice user of magic, he still uses non-elemental magic such as levitation, and more but they're his weakest. Since his banishment, he now only has one set of clothes, his clothes that he was wearing the day of the banishment.
Occasionally he will wash them with magic to not smell.
You can contact me easily through Skype (search for Korten12) I suggest Skype (No mics, or Video chat, just text) as we can talk in huge groups and it makes asking questions and discussing far easier.
Or join the group: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/The-City-RP and talk there.
It was a suggestion for solving the food supply problem. I posted it before I saw your post. I posted again to let everyone know to ignore it, forgetting that this forum doesn't automerge repeated posts like another forum I go to, and I just ended up snipping the whole mess.
Name: Naril Anioc
Age: 17
Section: South
Gender: Female
Looks: Small, dark, and round-faced, with her short, black braids tucked under a gray headscarf. Her Steel Heart emblem hangs off a necklace, dropping down to the middle of her chest. She dresses plainly and inconspicuously - a loose-sleeved cotton tunic, belted at the waist, with a woven leather vest over it for protection. A scabbard hangs off her belt, a steel short sword resting in it. Grey trousers end right above her ankles, with a pair of straw sandals protecting her feet.
Faction: Steel Hearts|none
Bio: She ran away from her native district in the South Section when she was 13 years old. It doesn't recommend well for the district that she can't even remember it's name. Hell, she's kept the whole place out of her mind so long that she doesn't even really remember why she ran away in the first place. Every night was spent in a different alleyway, and every day was paid for with charity, odd jobs, and occasional prostitution. If she hadn't joined the Steel Hearts, she'd probably be doing the same today. It's not like she cared about the political situation of the City, and she still didn't, there were other reasons.
Well one reason, a boy named Arden - the exiled son of a high-profile Upper District family. They were dating, he joined the Steel Hearts to fight the bourgeois oppressors that he was banished for speaking out against, so she joined to fight alongside him. It was awfully romantic, right until they went on their first mission. The two of them, plus seven other Steel Hearts would ambush a shipment of wine to the Upper District - Arden and three others got killed, two were captured, the rest, Naril included, scattered into the wind. Now she can take up her sword against the Upper District and avenge Arden's name, or cut her losses and go AWOL, letting everyone else assume she died in the attack. She still hasn't decided.
Location: An alleyway in the Middle District, a stone's throw from the Rathen border.

Pretty good, only problem with Arden. Noble's are only the Eight of which rule Upper District. Unlike in real life where a Noble would be a person of higher class, in this case, it only pretains to the Nobles of Upper District.

Scarlett would definitely need a healer as a contact, especially one who keeps his head down and out of trouble. In return for healing Scarlett's wounds when ever she turns up you can ask her to protect you, or some other mutual agreement between the two?
Looks like there's conflict then. Especially since the vessel won't hand other the chemicals to other as they?re for her own use only. You mention she likes music and the Vessel is one of the best harp players (not to mention she can sing very well and competently play many other instruments).
Do you perform in public? I can imagine that if you did that is how Scarlett would have approached you, however she would not have taken the rejection so well. I'd say a respect for each others talents exists.

I definitely do need some protection. Being a healer, I'm pretty easy to find, making me at constant threat from Mage Hunters who would rather see me dead. Jets of water only work so much in combat.
I think I can safely say the vessel won?t have any problems with you character beyond maybe being slightly annoyed or patronising. She might even take him on as an apprentice, after all a healer would be a good source of energy and it?s nice to have someone to talk to.
Yeah, I like that idea. I always believe there's more to learn, especially since Halien is no master of magic. Having a teacher with a much different world perspective could open him up to new ways of thinking along with new sets of magical abilities.
1) Section is more ideals then physical traits, people born in the South are more anti-Mage, while someone in the North would be more Pro-Mage. This is due to the fact that none of the people in the South aren't native to the South (since their families all came over to the South section in 3000.) But that doesn't stop from certian physical traits to appear more so in certian Sections.
2.) Sections aren't exclusive, people are free to move from one to the other. The Section in the character layout just means where they're from. People often travel from one Section to another in trading and some diplomatic groups. Since while their is a 'main' government in the Sections, they can't really enforce too much. Unless it is in The North which the governement is more accepted by the various Districts there that they do have that power.
Well thanks for clearing that up, just wanted to make sure everything was okay before I actually made the character. Now I will use a proper post for the character sheet.

I think he'd respect the duality of life and death of The Vessel's powers but also fear her misusing them. So long as she's not attacking innocents for self gain, he'd fine with her methods.
Here's my sheet, dissect and put back together as you please, heck light it on fire if that's what you really want to do.
Name: Lucian Grey Age: 22 Section: Middle Gender: Male Clothes: Lucian is usually dressed in a simple, loose fitting, hooded cloak all in the hue of midnight that masks his entire visage. Beneath the robes he wears a grey tunic and black trousers with bandage wrappings around the ankles. Looks:
Personality: Lucian's demeanour is a difficult thing to truly encompass . Usually Jovial and cheery, he presents himself as being a rather sociable person. However, when pushed to the brink his personality has an unhealthy habit of shifting into something utterly nightmarish; adopting a careless disregard for human life and gleeful sadism . Lucian is a solipsist and views the world around him as " A Rather Persistent Dream " leaving him with the belief that one's own mind is the only thing sure to exist.
Faction: Mage Hunter, Former Osaian
Bio: Much of Lucian's memories are fractured, kept alive by the journals that he had published within his time after the abduction into the cult known as "Osaian". From these entries, and other recorded sources that he had acquired over the years he was able to conclude that his time before the "Experimentation Period" was spent in the slums of Dojeran; A long forgotten district that lingered on the fringes of the stark white mountainous barrier that divided the North and Middle sections of the 'City'.
The recounts of parchment spoke of the chill of the looming mountains seeping down and into the downtrodden streets and alleyways during the winter seasons. The texts mention the spread of death that came with these seasons within the poorer stations, the words etched along of the yellow stained papers spoke of the frostbite ridden corpses that lined the backways, graphic and unrefined in its tone with Lucians parents receiving noticeable mentions in at least 3 entries.
A section of the memoirs mention a great disaster that occurred when Lucian was but of 10 winters; a covert military compound, founded under the banner of the Upper District, had expanded and breached the towering walls of ice and stone through a series of catacombs that ran beneath the mountains only to be swiftly sent into a flurry of chaos and destruction. The tomes spoke of a trembling deep within the very earth and fissures that crept well into the heart of Dojeran.Other letters spoke of a fire that erupted through the streets like a crimson flood, how the smell of charred flesh was rich and pungent in the air. The cross reference with the printed articles of the informer and these papers confirmed the experience as an attack orchestrated by the terrorist group, and Lucians captors, the Osaians.
The following journals were the most chilling of his collection, they speak in present tense of his abduction shortly after the attack, brief descriptions of his captors were documented in the early chapters but seemed to increase in scarcity as the pages turned, replaced by the horrors that were inflicted upon him in the care of the Mages . The details of the experimentation we're varied, sometimes they would contain clues that pointed out the reasons behind his abduction, something about his body displaying oddities . Words he didn't understand like "osteoclast" and "calcium" were inked in scrawlings on the documents, while at other times they merely voiced the agony and torment that the procedures inflicted and plagued him with for (If the dates are correct) years.
The final entry in the plethora of tortured history revealed the final procedure that was performed on Lucian, It was written down as an "Invasive sealing spell" that was to leave his mind in something of a 'blank slate'. The procedure was effective in that it left his mind broken and yearning for information to fill the holes ruptured in his psyche. It would be two whole years before Lucian would discover these hidden documents within his quarters. Two years Lucian served within the Osaian's ranks, however, his devotion was always what his superiors called 'flimsy'. Lucian found the concept of free will to be wondrous, to think and respond with one's own experiences and knowledge being something on par with the gods. But the devout worship that was expected of their followers always struck him as hypocritical to the very teachings of Osaia. With his loyalty already wavering, combined with the discovery of his macabre past, Lucian fled; the revelation that he had been crafted against his free will to be a weapon for the Osaian's was the greatest desecration. It was at this moment that, with what he interpreted as finally attaining his independence , he adopted his belief of " I Think, Therefore I Am. "
Casting off the shackles of the Osaians, Lucian sought refuge deep In the South under the knowledge that with the strong anti-magic stance held within the region, he could plan without his abductors finding a method of capture or return. A year or study and investigation passed before he ultimately joined the 'Mage Hunters' in the hopes of using their resources to track down the mages that made him what he is, either for vengeance or curiosity, his end goals are still a mystery.
Other Info: Before being abducted by the Osaian mages, Lucian Grey possessed a unique ability where his bones would recuperate at an astounding rate. Because of this, he was made the subject of Magical experimentation that evolved his ability further. Lucian can actively control the growth of his bone structure allowing him to produce spine-like blades or a very primitive shielding from almost anywhere on his body. The creation of these growths is often very painful and can even be life threatening in excess.
