so do you use/have "high end" gaming accesories and such?

Just today I got a mousepad, its world of warcraft "deathwing" edition...I think the great big dragon on it is a deathwing, I dont actually play WOW but it looked really nice..so yeah, its steelseries which is the brand


my mouse is a logitech...not bad quality not specifically for gaming...I dont know how expecisve it was

I also have some basic logitech speakers, even though I just headphones I thourght I might as well give my ears a break

so I guess my question is do you go all out on accesories? or do you think you get a perfectly good experience without spending the extra cash?

Mouse: MX518 (Best mouse EVER). Its my 3rd or 4th of the kind...and when its gone...I'll get another.
Thats it I guess. I got a pretty nice Creative Headset with mic. Mostly because it was EXTREMELY comfy and had good sound.

I've considered buying a "better" keyboard, but I cant justify the cost. There are other things I'd like more.

So, you spent loads of money on a keyboard, only to get a keyboard with membrane keyswitches? I'd call that a waste of money.

If you want to go expensive on a keyboard, buy mechanical.

They'll last longer, the keys have better feedback and they're more likely to have full n-key rollover. It's clearly the better option.

Who gives a shit, i don't hammer keys and my last membrane lasted me years. I buy quality stuff that also looks good, none of that boring mechanical stuff. MEchanical keyboards and all the obsessing about blue switches is clearly for boring people.


Also it was backlit and wasn't a Razer BW ultimate, the only mechanical keyboard with backlighting that i could access. And as Razer are terrible, Cyborg all the way.

I got a mousepad that was like the most awesome thing back in 2004 or something. I think it's called Steelpad. I stole it though.

Other than that I don't have anything particulary awesome. My speakers shine with blue light though... That's pretty cool!

Hrm. I looked at the Cyborg keyboards and they looked like awful cheap rubbish to me. The mice are decent (I have the RAT7) but I'm not getting the keyboard.
Also I don't understand backlighting on keyboards myself, but then I type without needing to look at the keyboard (not specifically learned touch typing - I just type so much it's automatic) and light out of the edges of my eyes is distracting (being female can make this more of a problem).

Again, it looks cool and I have the money to be able to buy things I like and replace them at will. For example, I have an SLi setup of the GTX 580. Nothing in the world can utilise these. Those two cards alone are more than some computer systems cost. Why do I get them? Because it's cool. And because I can. Same with the backlighting. The keyboard looks like it's out of Mad Max or Batman, what more do you want? =D

I use a Turtle Beach X41 for my PC, meant to be used on Xbox 360 but I got rid of it.

Only bad thing its hard to get an adapter for the microphone for PC.

TypeSD, looks like a sewing machine and a Gameboy Color.

I don't typically go for expensive gear, but I do like certain brands.

My keyboard is a Logitech G15 which I bought from an online shop instead of stores, where it was, I kid you not, twice the price.
Mouse is Razer Copperhead, works fine, but the matte finish is coming off. I might get a Cyborg next. Have used Logitech mostly but they started failing on me, G7 and MX Revolution.
My new mousepad is from Steelseries, as is my headset (old one from Plantronics lost mic and the sound in one speaker, though it held up for years).
For sound I'm sticking with Creative, speakers and subwoofer, plus a portable speaker I've had for many years.

Depends... I use a Razer Imperator which is probably not considered extremely expensive, but ... It's a high end mouse.
On the other hand I use a cheapass Cherry keyboard. Just because it's a great keyboard!

High end and costs don't matter that much. It's far more important that you like the gear you're using.

My little bro has a tutrle beach headset for the xbox, I don't use any of that stuff. Normal Xbox control, wireless headset, wireless router, and I have a bog standard keyboard, and my mouse is shaped like a little Aston Martin DB7 ^^
