Its Simple, Nationalism Is Loving Your Own Country, Racism is Hating Evrything That Isnt the Same As You, Look The Same As You, Think The Same As You, Belive In The Same As You.
Actually, someone could live right next door to me, think exactly as I do and hold the same religious beliefs, with the only difference being they're black and I'm white, and implying that somehow, the mere fact that they're black makes them inferior to me, THAT would be racist. So lad, I'd say you don't have a good understanding of what racism is. You should do some reading and correct that. Now.

Of course, it goes without saying that they are inferior to me. But they shouldn't feel too bad - everyone is.

What 'English Comedy' have you watched that you don't find funny?
For the record, theres much of it I do understand and love, such as Blackadder and little Britan, but the type I dont understand anything of is what you call (I think) 'non-sense' humor.

In hindsight, I think I should have written "I'm not English and theres lots of typical English humor I dont understand" instead.

In My Second Message It Says OR, so before you fire off, read it, It Says That It is A Hate, Not All Ways Inferiority, All Though This Is Common in Racism, And Its Not Allways Skin Colour, It Can be Religion.

British comedy = Peep Show.

But anyway, your post, as has been pointed out, doesn't make sense. Based on your definition of Nationalism, you're still being racist if you're slagging of the 'British' because 'British' is a people, not a country, indeed the people of Britain come from several countries. If you had said 'England is bad' then that fits YOUR definition of Nationalism. Anyway, what's the point of this? How is it particularly different, or much better, than racism?

I didn't find Peep Show that funny either, not against the adventures of Sir Digby Chicken Cesar.

And I acknowledged there was a problem, so I switched it to race. If I'd said "England is bad" it would fit THE definition of Nationalism, I.E. Prejudice (whether founded or unfounded) towards a specific Nation.

Nationalism is towards a Nation, Racism is against a Race. Simple?

Ah, got it. Surreal humour isn't to everyone's taste, I'm not a fan of sexual humour or things like Mr. Bean.

Am I the only one who thinks it is inaccurate to say that racism applies to people of the same skin tone, but different country?

Nationalism is basically patriotism with a negative connotation- the feeling of superiority over every other country. I not sure what you said qualifies as nationalism, and I'm not sure "nationalistic" is a word at all.
You don't need a separate word to suggest patriotism already IS a negative connotation.

Like others, I don't get what the OP is trying to say, is there no such thing as reporters of differing backgrounds working in places other than their country of origin?

I think more ppl would agree if the thread simply stated "I saw Spiderman 3 the other day....it was shit."

Punch them in the face!

No, really. They should know the difference between racism. Calling someone 'British' is not being racist. Calling someone a word that begins with P, which I'm not going to say because it's horrible is being racist.

By the way, Peep Show is crap :p
Mighty Boosh all the way.

Racism discriminates people through skin colour, Nationalism discriminates people through the country they came from. At least that's the way I always thought of it.
I agree here. There is a BIG difference between disliking someone who is different, and having pride in your own culture, country, etc.

These people you speak of, are ignorant to a perplexing fault and are obviously unwilling to better themselves through a decent education.

Then you are still wrong: Racism is about what ethnic supergrouping one belongs to (Caucasian, Negroid, Mongoloid) and not religion. Hatred for religous differences is frequently termed "Righteousness" unfortunately.

Of course, given your odd capitalisation, perhaps English isn't your primary langugae, so I'm willing to overlook your eccentricities.

Sounds completely nuts to me. Your family seems to suffer from either Extreme Political Correctness Syndrome or Brain Leaking Through Nose Syndrome.

I believe, my dear Poleboy, that these terms are often the same thing.

There was a guy at school whose name I always heard of, but I never knew who it was. I asked a mate, and he told me it was someone in our class. When pushed for details, he told me it was the "black guy with the dodgy eye"

I said "Forrest Wittacker? (sp?)"

He said I was racist and offensive to people with disabilities. I asked him why. He faltered. I asked him "Is it racist because both of them are black? and it's offenseive because both have a dodgy eye?"

He said "...well...I guess..."

I called him a Res-5-kneejerk-alarmist.

Is this the kind of thing you're on about in terms of misunderstanding? I don't understand why they had a go at you. Was it because you pointed out she was British?

Oh, and I know the reporter you were talking about. She was a crappy actor, with wooden delivery and a fake accent, she does not represent my country

If you wish to justify yourself as not being a bigot, then you must understand that 'British' being an obscenity is a -very- bigotted opinion to hold.

And yes, technically, it can be racism, seing as Angles, Picts, and Celts (The people who native Britons [English, Scottish, Welsh, and Irish] are decended from) are subraces of Anglo-Saxon, which is a subrace of Caucasian.

But, then again, you've completely missed the point. They're not yelling at you because you're racist, and a counter argument that it is 'Nationalism' isn't gonna get you out of that accusation.

They are yelling at you because you are a bigot who is delusional enough to think that he can argue his way out of such accusations rather than address his bigotry.
