So, the idea that our lifespan could be extended made it's way to the Escapist this Monday. So I thought I would ask you guys, would you want to have your life extended? I personally would want to live to see 2112, as I'm a Rush fan, lol, but, other than that, I probably would want to go unless the life extension won't give us all the crap that the current generation of elderly people have to face, lol.

My life will end when the universe puts the stamp on my life that says "game over". Drugs and whatnot only extend the life of someone to a point, and past health issues are still issues, despite what the drugs can do. So if I have cancer, the drugs won't stop the cancer. That being said, I'm only as young as I feel and I'm freakin' immortal.

As for the attraction of having your life extended? C'mon, a few years is nothing to write home about. Call me when we're talking centuries here.

What I didnt understand about that article, and the comments, is the whole 70 years of retirement thing. I dont think anyone would want to simply extend the feeble years of their life another 70 years, but if this thing comes to fruition, it would give us more years of quality. If that were the case, why not keep working and earning money? There are a lot of old people who are still sharp as a whip, but physically weak. Since no one has enough retirement money to last 70 years, why not keep working and getting better and better at your job? Just think of the brilliant scientists out there who could keep moving their research along. As someone who's late to the party, I would relish the thought of having more time to work with once I finally get my education.
