What happened to Extra Credit. I was on vacation for a couple of weeks and I came back to one of my favorite shows being gone. What happened?

There was a money issue; search for the 1600 reply thread to get more details, because I'm too lazy to explain it for the millionth time.

Sorry if I sound cranky, it is just that everyone and their grandma has asked what happened to EC without doing some searching.

Actually I'm not entirely sure myself. There was a money issue between them and The Escapist. It was something to do with the money they raised for the surgery for Alison (that's her name, right?) and some other money-related stuff.

If you search the forums, there are a few threads with the full story, but they've basically split from the Escapist. They're still active on YouTube though.

I find that very misleading! I would say it was more of a misunderstanding between the two parts. While yes they didn't pay extra credit they mailed and asked if they could but them a bit down on the list since they was short on money and had more people to pay then just extra credits.

It seems EC will be moving to some other web site, and the You Tube thing is only temporary, so I hope they'll keep going strong.

Steal from their charity? As I read in the thread, after they got enough for Allison's surgery The Escapist wanted to use the money to keep Extra Credits going, and then one of the other two guys wanted to use the money to start up some business...which is also objectionable.

They took the extra money and started a non-profit charity fund for indie games. They even offered money back to those who didn't want their donated money to go to said charity fund. It wasn't to start a business.

Wow. I'd actually create that last one if I didn't feel it would get me banned.
