I remember playing it a while back. It was a massive clusterfuck and I had no idea what was going on but it was charming in a retarded kind of way.

What do you find good about it, OP? I've seen videos that look cool, and I like the setting, but I tend to hear a community response like the one in this topic. Sounds like it has it's fair share of problems.

But it's not that hard to sell me on an excuse to blast cyberpunk corporate ninjas in Source

play the game co-op lan, no wait "co-op" may not be the best term for the pure awesome insanity that ensues. The more players the less likely you are to get out of the starting area without a massive gun/sword fight with everyone and everything.

Same here, there seemed to be an interesting but umpolished game underneath, no patience to learn it tough.

Here's the thing: It's a great game. It has a pretty Deus-Ex-ish feel to it, it has all sorts of fancy combat schtick, and it's kind of this really over-the-top thing.

But it's also really weird. I mean really friggin weird. You never really understand just what the hell is going on, everything is just randomly happening, and you have to kinda sorta deal with something and do something. It's also pretty darn hard at some points.

Buy it. Really, buy it. Find a friend or two to play it with, talk about it and try to figure out what the hell is going on, and, well, just do it.

I took drugs in my youth. This game reminded me of why I stopped. Fragmented disjointed and confusing as all hell. I would say you either have to be absolute batshit insane to understand this game or... really REALLY high on something like mescaline which amounts to batshit insane anyway.

The best way I can summerize E.Y.E. is that is' like Deus Ex, but it just does not give a fuck. For better or worse.

This leads to some really ridiculous and amazing gameplay moments, especially if you're playing the 32(!) person multiplayer but... it just doesn't give a damn about you. And the multiplayer? It's not deathmatch. It's co-op. 32 player co-op on Deus-Ex sized levels. You can also kill and hack others with immunity. And by hack I mean actually gain control of other player's characters and control them or make them explode on the spot. But be careful, if you fail at hacking them (or anything in the game), they will hack you back. This leads to situations where you try to hack a door, fail, and the door hacks you. You then need to hack yourself to kill the hack that the door put into you. It's as insane and broken and surreal and strangely amazing as it sounds. You can really do it all. This isn't touching on the fact that if you don't have enough skills in certain areas your character can become too scared to fire their own weapon. Also all the psychic/tech powers you can get. You start the game able to spawn three clones of yourself.

Because E.Y.E. just does not give a fuck.

It can be really off-putting, but I just love that something like it exists. Here's [http://www.destructoid.com/review-e-y-e-divine-cybermancy-208834.phtml] a review of it if anyone's interested.

I've read the comments so far and still have no idea what the game is about or if it would be worth while double teaming it with my wife(yeah, I went there).

Of course, having mind bendingly confusing story wouldn't matter to my wife since she never cares about story. I'm the one she has to wait for while I read every newspaper, journal, and codex. She just likes shooting shit in the head, hence her love affair with L4D2. Kinda scary, now that I think about it...

Bought the game a while back, and remember really liking it from what little I played. Had a great art-style and atmosphere, and the gameplay was stunningly, fascinatingly complex. Would probably recommend it if anyone asked me about it. If it is true the devs are releasing a huge, free DLC expansion, I might start playing it again.

I found it pretty sweet aside from what a clusterfuck of gameplay it is and how nonexistent the stealth is
the environments and atmosphere were awesome though

The thing about EYE is that while I felt it was full of amazing potential it was also glitchy, poorly designed, and horrendously translated, which made it very hard to enjoy.

In two sentences, you managed to deliver the most nuanced and factually accurate review I've ever read. Hat's off to you, sir.

I personally really like it in a sand-boxy, rogue/dwarf fortress kind of way. It's about as user friendly as Dwarf Fortress is as well. Still like it and grind it on occasion though, but I'm the only person I know who actually took the time to figure out the mechanics.
