@BrawlMan If I have ever had a game for you, I think Forged In Shadow Torch aka F.I.S.T. might be the game!

FIST (I'm not going to keep doing the fucking periods everytime) is a side scrolling Metroidvania brawler game in which you play an ex-military rabbit in a world of furries. Mice, Rabbits, dogs, bears, oh my. Yes enter the distopian cyberpunk world in which you are a rabbit with a big fucking robot fist strapped to your back and you beat the shit out of robot dogs and other cybernetic animals in an attempt to save your friend.

FIST begins with you just chillin at the noodle bar, like you do, hanging with your bear homie who says that he has fixed your fist. You are a sour rabbit and you aint interested in fighting and shit anymore, old retired rabbit that you are. Until five seconds later when your bear friend is taken to prison and you go off on your side scrolling adventure to beat the shit out of anything that stands in your way.

So FIST plays a bit like Dead Cells, or the more recent Bloodstained Ritual of the Night. You move left and right, and beat up bad guys with a wide array of light and heavy attacks with plenty of moves to unlock along the way. As you progress you'll unlock abilities that grant you access to new areas as you work your way through prison to go save your bear friend. You can beat your enemies to death, or just weaken them enough to make them glow in which you can execute them in a fancy animation of which there are lots of different brutal ways to fuck up someone's day. It's very cool.

But wait, there's more. You thought that the game called FIST would only give you a big fucking fist to fuck up dogs with? Oh no my friend! You also get a big fuck off drill to....drill holes into people and fly. And there is also another unlockable weapon that i haven't gotten yet but based on what I've seen so far it will also fuck up some shit in a totally badass way.

Also if you happen to be into furries, well....this game will see plenty of rule 34 so look forward to that.

Uh, yeah that's basically it. It's cool.

Oh, I knew about this game a long while back, but thank you for the reminder. I might have to pick it up on sale. Right now I am going through some other games. I'll pick up the PS4 version when I decide to play it.

I didn't even know it was out. I remember seeing it at a Sony State of Play thing and then randomly saw it on the store. When I opened it in the shop looking for a release date, it was already out so.....:Shrug;. I guess it launched last week. But it's out now and it is pretty damn decent. I got about three hours into it tonight and it's one of those games I'll dip in and out of throughout the rest of the year probably.

I guess I don't have the same nostalgia for the style.
Understandable, but the video game needs a comeback of these style of games. Thankfully, the indie and AA side has been picking up that slack for a few years now. Nonsensical, funny, and weird 2D/2.5D animal or creature mascot platformers were the golden days in the 90s. Being "realistic", "art", and "mature" 24/7 is boring. I am an all variety guy for a reason or play what works for me. It's why I am big advocate games that are not afraid of where they come from or doing something off the wall.
