Vanquish... a laser that goes through all cover and one hit kills your ass, and you have to fight 3 of these 7foot mechs with the rape laser and RPG's at the same time.

At the moment, Fallout 3 at Point Lookout. Fast traveled to the woman who wants you to make moonshine for her. Sadly, upon my arrival I was surrounded by about 5 irradiated hillbillies. So I naturally run to the door. Now I have an auto-save in the house with them waiting outside, and my last manual save took place about 45 minutes before that. So yeah, it's somewhat my fault, but I just don't have the patience to deal with it. Oh yeah, and my Xbox Red-Ringed a couple days after..................yeah.

I know! I remember seeing that in the ads and thinking "Oh man, that's going to be so cool when I get to do it!" But no! They just had to keep sending wave after wave of ties at you!

Valkyria Chronicles. As much as I liked it when my team stopped missing every crucial shot, around the middle of the game when you had to kill enemies in one round in order to avoid being utterly murdered and your team had the accuracy of melty butter with an assault rifle, along with the enemies having disproportionate dodge rates, the game pissed me off so much.

"OK, Alicia. You need to make this shot or else this Shocktrooper is going to fill you with enough bullets to kill you twice over. Let's do it!"
*Wiff*
"God, dammit. I guess I'm going to reload my save..."
-Repeat many, many times with increasing annoyance-
Yea, I had the same type of problems with that game. Although looking back in retrospect I really loved that game. Awesome characters, love the art style, loved the grid free and real time elements that strayed from your typical SRPG.

However on tricky levels where missing shots means certain death I was literally making saves after every damn move to reload if I don't get the shot. It grew rather tedious.

I think the only time that comes to mind for me was Pokemon Stadium and trying to get the Dodrio Game Boy upgrade(which basically let you play your original pokemon game at triple speed). I remember you had to basically beat every person in every mode at every difficulty to get it (or at least something close to that).

I had gotten to probably the last or second to last person and doing pretty well. In that fight I was up two pokemon to their last Snorlax. And then came the 1 hit KO Critical hit body slam. Not once, but twice. This basically shot ALL of the effort I put into it as you basically get you sent back to the start. This basically caused me to summon up all of my childish rage and break my 64 controller on the ground. So yea, fuck you Pokemon Stadium for actually getting me to bust up a perfectly good controller.

I'm almost ashamed to mention this one, but the Original Fire Emblem for the Gameboy.

The Final Fight pits you up against every boss you've fought in the game, stronger with better weapons. Once you finish that fight, you go up against the end boss, then the end dragon.

I did end up beating the game after leaving it for about a year. After beating Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones it was relatively easy to beat Fire Emblem.

More or less any mission in Driver San Francisco. I had high hopes for that game, and the atmosphere was just awesome. The missions though, did NOTHING but induce ridiculously huge amounts of rage in me. The cops...************...I wonder if anyone playtested that game and didnt die from frustration. Fuck that shit, I couldnt take it, so I just deleted it. What a load of crap.

I got a moment like this but, rather than give up, I went for it and won.

It was on Xcom: Ufo Defense, on the last mission. I took the lift down to the main base and the game removed all of my weapons. I finished it by using mind control to steal a couple of guns off of the aliens and then went on a one way mad dash to the control room, crouched someone in front of the alien brain that was in charge and managed to get the guards to misfire and blow it up.

In Final Fantasy XII when you die after investing 5+ hours into the battle against Yiazmat. I immediately buried my face into my hands and laid on my bed in the fetal position while reflecting on the situation.

Well, in my legendary LP of Mega Man [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.312431-New-9-21-Lets-Play-Mega-Man-Blind-Volume-19], it took me almost two hours to get past Ice Man. Apparently I'm really, really bad with floating platforms. And Ice Man can kill you in three hits.
Your plug worked. I am now subscribed and enjoying your suffering.

Burnout Paradise. After realizing they took out explosions, crash junctions and that the crash animations weren't so awesome after the 30 bajillionth time you see them and they're NOT skippable.... fuck that game.

Recently been brushing up on old titles in franchises I love that I missed like Gears 1, Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded and so forth.

Well was playing through Halo 1 in the Silent Cartographer level and after one and a half hours was still going through the same room, hallway, bridge part and said fuck it because I was so goddamn bored. They just seemed to be repeating themselves.

Super Meat Boy does this to me every day. Funnily enough, I'm actually considered a 'good' player amongst my friends (well, good for someone that uses a keyboard).

Cant remember specific ones lately, but my first one ever (as far as i can remember) was shogun total war where some factions were impossible to play as due to an enemy horde turning up and overrunning you.
This could have just been me, but it limited the factions id play as, didnt want to take over half the map to find the only other person left had more men and no hobby other than drowning me in them...
