First things first: I live in Australia, which probably has some impact on release dates.

I've been asked to buy someone Fable 3 on PC for Christmas, but have since discovered that the release was delayed. Unfortunately, none of the sources I've found seem to agree on how much it was delayed - I've seen people saying that it's coming out a month ago, on December 31 and well into next year, amongst other things. Is there any concrete answer?

No, they aren't commenting on the PC release as far as I know. So no release date. Just that it will exist.....eventually.

this is sooooo optimistic of you !

i guess they aren't releasing it yet for PC, because they don't want it to be Modded up and Better-ed than the Console version...

Maybe (unbridled optimism here!) they've realized that we're feeling sort of not grateful because they left Fable II off the PC, and they're working to port them both (for reduced prices), so we can get the complete story?

But no - that's not how publishers work. Ever. Instead, if we get anything at all, we'll get Fable 3, with no extra content whatsoever and with added DRM and poor porting specifics (Xbox buttons referenced in the movement tutorial? No co-op support? Kinect ads when you start the program? Who knows!) - for $60, half a year after the console version comes out. And we'll be expected to be grateful for the service! And if nobody buys it, they'll blame piracy, and become even more console-centric than ever.

It might happen like that...except the piracy thing. Fable 3 is just the 1st step in their recommitment to PC gaming for the nth time. So...baby steps I guess. Who knows if they'll even come through.

But they will never cancel! D:<

They're doing what Ubisoft has been doing to Assassin's Creed for about 4 years now: releasing it 4 months late for no reason whatsoever, then changing the cover art and taking out features.

I was originally planning on getting fable 3 for the PC for the mods and my general preference for the keyboard.. but the co-op in Fable 3 is actually working like it should of in Fable 2 and my friends have it on the xbox so I ended up going with the console variant.

Regardless of the release date, you may want to keep up-to-date with any bug fixes and many, many patches the game will need before it becomes even remotely playable.
