1. I also felt the spells were a bit lacking in variety. Some were really cool for a bit, but lost their charm eventually. As you said, the magic-spamming also is a debacle because now you can't even take the less amount of spells and have even higher levels with amazing special effects because there would not be enough of a cost.
2. The lack of exploration and variety really shocked me because there really weren't many places to go to that were any fun until later on. Despite those later locales being more interesting, they offered little else to do after the campaign.
3. This really was a bad choice, and the progression in the Fable time-line means that this third game won't have it either in all likelihood. The clothing was never suitable for my hero, and in the end if I wanted something decent, it was always the same bloody outfit.
4. I don't even know if I bothered finishing the story again with my second character. The only reason that I progressed was get better stuff, and if I did finish it was only because of #6.
5. Those jobs/mini-games got old VERY fast and I would hope that they've evolved the job's in this game so that it's not such a dull task. Or perhaps in Fable III, you can choose to stamp envelopes and notices at the Albion Postal Office (Oh I hope not!)
6. What kept the story long for me was avoiding it because it was not that compelling once it got to that prison part near the middle. I didn't want to just get older by essentially being a prison-whore after 10 years of guard duty.
So I agree with what you said, but I hope that they've learned and improved for this next one. Hope, as in, looking
highly unlikely.
