As most of you probably know by now, Peter Molyneux has already started building up Fable 3 as the "BEST GAME EVAR!!!!!!!!!" Now, even though we all know that Mister Molyneux is a filthy liar of the highest caliber, let's just suspended our disbelief for a moment and come up with a wish list.

But first, what we know;
-The game is set around 60 years after Fable 2 and the player takes on the role of the previous hero's offspring.
-The world of Albion has entered the industrial revolution, complete with child labor and factories.
-The main quest is about becoming (first half) and then being (second half) king of Albion.
-Many of the game's more traditional RPG elements have been discarded, no HUD, next to no leveling, very little inventory (If I recall correctly).
-"Empathic" weapons will be included, weapons that change in size and appearance depending on the players actions, how much they use them, and their alignment.
-The dog will be returning, through no doubt in a new incarnation.
So that's what we know so far, as long as this thread is active I'll try to update this post as new information becomes available.

Now, assuming that you could directly influence the development of this game and perhaps prevent it from being the massive letdown that we all see coming a mile away, what would you put in the game?
Personally, I would add;
-More persistent maps, I really disliked all the little areas and load times.
-Larger towns, all the towns in the original seemed really small and boring, I want bigger and better.
-A greater magical presence in the would; more magic users, more creatures (seriously, all you fought in the last game were bandits and those stupid goblins.)
-Steampunk anything, the industrial revolution as a setting? Come on, it's a necessity.
-Better endgame, the last game had no real endboss the the ending was just a massive pissoff. One wish for me and then the old lady gets to keep the Tower of Power? Bullshit!
-Armor and better clothing, really, in the last game all the clothes made you look like an idiot.
-More choices in the storyline. Self-flagellatingly good or kitten-eatingly evil, Fable 2 still gave you the same story.
EDIT -Ooh, I've got another one, a more serious tone. Not like, super gritty and serious, but less silliness, it ruined the mood in the game sometimes. END EDIT
That's all I can think of for now.

Two more things:
1- Try to limit the "It doesn't matter, this game will suck anyway." posts. We all know Peter Molyneux's reputation and this thread is about how you would made the game better.
2- Just a complaint from me: So in the sixty years that passed between games, Albion has gone from maybe the equivalent of the 16th century to the late 18th-early 19th century? Stupid. And of course even though by the end of Fable 2 the player was invariably filthy rich, their kid will likely start the game dirt poor and clawing their way to the top? That makes no sense.

A lot nicer clothes, I wanna make a really cool looking character, the choices are a bit same in Fable 2, but I do like the armourless system so they can look as cool as they want.

More actual choice in my character development. That would be nice.
Yeah, I would like to actually have more influence in the character's look than just a halo or horns. Otheriwse I say don't make the character poor this time, make him/her start off in a rich life THEN drop him/her to the bottom to claw their way back to the top.

My wish, my one damn wish: For a game involving Molyneux to actually live up to the obscene hype its going to get.

I'd like to see a better move scheme. Fable 1 and 2 had the old Bioware problem of having invisible walls and movement glitches up the ass.

I'd also like to have a kind of armour system back, fable 1 had armour, fable 2 had clothes that didn't help you at all in a battle so why not be able to buy clothes and armour again in fable 3.

Oh yes and I have a design for a new weapon, the Peter MOLYNUKE!

All I wish for is for the game to actually feature some of the stuff that Molyneux will say about it. The thing is thoug, Peter Molyneux seems to be a great guy. He was one of the big-shots at Bullfrog, after all, and they made some brilliant games (including the obscenely amazing Theme Hospital, which helped define my childhood). I get the feeling that he's a great guy, and that he really does want to stick all this stuff in there. He just has a slight problem of getting too excited about the games he and his company make. That's the only problem I have with him. Without thinking about the hype, and forgetting the shitty ending of Fable 2, both the first two games were actually pretty damn good. I would actually love to work at Lionhead, because quite simply Molyneux seems like a great guy to get on with and work for, and I'd love to be able to help try and see some of his dreams in his games become a reality.

I'd like to see this 'touch' thing used in more creative ways. For example, in combat you should be able to grab people and shove them into stuff, which can lead you into more combos.

I said this one in another thread, but adding additional cosequences for loss in combat situations. Not flat-out death, but something else based on what killed you. You could go to jail, get mugged, turn into a Balverine, etc. etc.

Another thing I mentioned in another thread, the return of Heroes, and a limited amount of Renown. Heroes battle and one-up eachother in an attempt to become more famous. Hell, with the whole idea of making promises you could have rivals to the throne attempt to promise bigger and better things than you can, giving you a threat to your power.

And I want a much better ending than 2. Perhaps even the return of Lucien into something more sinister. And I want to explore all those lands that the Heroes were talking about at the end of 2.

Fix the damn economy. seriously, no earning money while the console is turned off, that was a stupid idea.
Yeah, it only works in MMO's. My wish is for it to never exist.

No Natal.

A bit more subtlety in moral choices - far too Black and White for my liking....

I'd like to add another wish to my list.
I'd like Fable 3 to not only take data from your Fable 2 game and use that to affect the game, but for the previous hero to have a somewhat active role. Maybe if the player was evil/good in Fable 2 the world would be slightly (but not much) worse/better, or the player from Fable 2 would appear as a mentor figure or behind the scenes manipulator, maybe the reputation and alignment of the previous hero would affect how people react to the new hero. And most of all for the previous hero to not get killed off like a *****, seriously, you slaughtered hordes of enemies in Fable 2 and to get taken down in anything less than a massive badass battle would be both a letdown and an insult to the player.

I have to agree with bigger towns. It was so weird that it said that the districts of Bowerstone were about 2 miles between, and yet it felt so small despite clearly being a bustling, huge city.

This.

I will say that Fable II contained almost everything the Molynator said it would (some of it is up to opinion). He just forgot to make a decent game in the process.

Anyway, for wishs:

-A much, MUCH better story line. Fable 1's story was decent enough simply because it understood what it was and didn't try to push itself beyond it's limitations. Fable 2 was Lionhead trying to make a deep complicated storyline. It failed miserabley. Get in a decent writer Peter, you just don't know what your doing on that front.

-Grey decisions. Nothing is black and white and everything has it's concequences. Personally I kind of like the morphing aspect of Fable and I like how they've made it even more over the top in the next game. However I think it should be based off the players intentions rather than the whole Good vs Evil aspect. For instance, you could be presented with a disision in Fable III were you encounter a murder. He's on his knees and is begging for mercy. If you choose to murder this man it could be consider a blood lust act that will turn you towards the side of a harsh death dealer. However you could choose to save the murder, which would be considered a good act. Unfortunatly the man goes out and kills again. Your intentions may have been poor but an innocent is dead because of you.

-There should be an explanation for the immortal dog. I personally don't think the dog should die; it was one of the few interesting aspects of Fable 2, even if it was broken at times. However there should be some sort of reason why it has survived as long as you have. Maybe it could be the same dog from Fable II? Maybe it's some sort of God stuck in the animal form? Hell, you could do [b/]something[/b] interesting with it.

-More clothes. The selection in Fable II was aweful.

-More creatures. There about 3 differet types in the Fable games. It's terrible.

Honestly it'll take ALOT for me to buy Fable III. I liked Fable I when I was a kid, but Fable II was just down right shit.
