Right now I am absolutly furious with Lionhead studios. I have been enjoying Fable 2, it is a good game, but I have a game-breaking bug in Brightwood which I cannot avoid, i need to go there for the main quest but whenever I do so the game goes silent, my 360 goes almost silent like Im at the dashboard, and then the game crashes after about 15 seconds...
This is unacceptable, so many people have reported numerous problems with this game, it is not finished. Check out the official Lionhead forums and see just how many people are complaining.

I have just read a thread on there (why Im complaining) which state the following:

So I called Lionhead, got through to the switchboard the lady on it was very helpful and friendly made me feel a little bit more happy but a person by the name of sam who deals with the web C/S would not speak to me. They told me to call MS, did that they said that they have no records of problems with Fable 2, they are fixing my 360 after the RROD. The main problem is what about the Fable 2 disc is that the problem, as i now have no xbox for about 2 to 4 weeks I cannot just exchange the disc to see.

LIONHEAD TALK TO US. YES THAT MEANS YOU SAM.
Lionhead have no released any announcement for a patch, yet they even admit they have some big issues especially with the main quest (I can't continue the game)

This is the first game I have ever played which will not let me complete it through poor testing. Has anyone else had any similar problems with this game?

Yes the game may have just come out, but releasing a game in beta state is not good enough, especially a game of this prestige.
(sorry for any spelling errors etc..)

I have had no problems, maybe you got a bad copy, none of my friends have had problems, never heard of any problems.

EDIT: "the main problem is what about the Fable 2 disc is that the problem"
what the HELL is that supposed to mean??

While I acknowledge the game is buggy, most bugs seem to be the cause of a very specific and rare set of events. Some of these issues like the xbox locking up can't be entirely blamed on buggy software.

Anyway, I've not encountered any game-breaking glitches yet. Sometimes my dog stands out mindlessly instead of scratching at the ground when he's informed me of a dig spot, but I blame this on a lag in processing.

That said, my wife has had the game lock up on her five times, losing between an hour to two hours of progress every time. She'd probably be finished by now if not for that. :/

This should be interesting. I'm actually going to buy 360 so I can play this game (of course there are couple of others I will buy, but Fable was the last nail in the coffin). I'm really interested of finding out how buggy it is, and how will it be fixed.

It seems the LE is the type thats most likely to freeze, I don't know why, but anyway any game that freezes in a main quest area has something wrong with it.

No clue, I think the OP (from the Lionhead forums) is TRYING to say that Fable II is the problem - not his 360.

RRoD cannot be caused by a game, it is an internal hardware failure, so this sounds like hes trying to get his money back by Bullshitting his way out of keeping the game.

Possibly, thats not what I was refering to in this thread, the fact that he supposedly phoned up Lionhead who told him they didn't know of any bugs in Fable 2 is what this thread is about, as there are a lot of bugs.

Use the link in my OP and type crash into the search bar (top left) and you will see a few threads all detailing this Brightwood crash, its effecting a lot of consumers.

I played it for almost all of Saturday with little or no breaks (sigh) and didn't experience any problems at all.

I've had a couple of glitches every now and again. Nothing major. Just a few minor things like getting glitched on a piece of terrain (I fixed it though ;D). My worst complaint is if you get surrounded by villagers with a wall or two to your back. It can be impossible to walk out because they refuse to move out of your way. It can be solved by fast-travelling from the menu though.

Or if you're evil, turning Safety Off and rank 5 Force Push (Or your other proferred spell, I like ragdolling though :D)

No glitches so far, only one slightly annoying villager stuck in a wall.

In his defense, i did take my warhammer to his face with extreme prejudice. And then force push on full. Twice.

I don't blame the game for that, it is by far one of the best games i have played. I have seen no glitches, the gameplay is fantastic and the plot and thematic technique made me feel and empathize. It was immersive, deceptively huge with oodles of re-playability and stuff to do. Great story, compelling villains and great voice acting. I hungrily await a sequel. And oho yes, there must be a sequel.

When you pass over the Oakvale bridge, i nearly shat bricks. When Reaver shot Barnum, i nearly screamed in rage. When lucien shot my dog, i was furious. The game made me feel, which not only do i rarely experience, but i swore Molynuex would never manage to do to me

So in short; No Bugs. Great Game.

I played Fable 2 all the way to the end without trouble.

Firstly, don't get the CO-OP patch as that seems to cause alot of problems (apparently, you can delete it from the 360 HD if you've already got it).

Secondly, make sure your xbox is well ventilated (seriously, the 360 produces more heat that the sun ;)).

I blame alot of these problems on the 360, personally. The Hardware's never been right and I've had troubles on multiple games and on 2 different xbox's (I had a red-ring-of-death replacement).

If Microsoft had actually designed the damn thing right in the first place, we'd have a much easier time. Also, if it was abit more efficient, we'd not need to cover them in ice packs to cool'em (joke)

I don't own fable myself, however I have seen my friend play it.
I also got to try it a bit myself.

When I played the game, I encountered two bugs.

Firstly, the talking my hero did sometimes echoed when I performed an action.
Not an actual echo, it simply performed the same sound one time after I had completed my expression.

Secondly, the game started lagging like fuck when I was playing the ukulele thingie.
Not due to the expression/instrument had any particular glitch to it, however all the people that gathered around me made the game first take one hell of alot of time to generate the icons above peoples heads as well as the icons for my expressions.
It also made the game freeze for maybe half a minute when I tried walking away from the crowd.

The bug my friend encountered (or actually he practically showed me) was that when his character got killed, it sometimes flew up in the air in funny ways.
After a while, he inevitably did die.
However due to the extremely spastic air flight his character was sent across, I simply had a hard time trying to stop laughing.

I would however like to add that I did like the game alot anyway, and so did he.

I've only experienced one minor bug so far, and that's the blacksmith becoming invisible. I can still talk to him and everything, but he's wearing some kind of invisi-cloak.

It was a little jumpy for me at points, but it didn't last long and it was running smoothly after five minutes or so. Also my bread crumb trail like to have fits by sending me back and forth in a circle for a while.

I've only noticed some mild graphical glitches myself.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure Fable 2 isn't as buggy as STALKER, nothing can be.
