Fable III should I get it?

You'd have to play the first one in order to figure out if the series is worth it to you or not. If you don't play the first one and such the third will probably ruin the original first two if you decide you want to go back and play them.

That is just my opinion though.

For your first question: Yes, you should, but you can easily follow the stories of the 3 games separately, since there's very little reference to previous games in them an none that really matter to the story. Sure, you'll know what Reaver is so annoyed with having to do every year if you played the second game, but that doesn't really matter.

For you second question: What problems are you talking about? There never were any problems.

what I ment was it was a huge criticizm of the first game that their whole "karma" systm was stupid/useless, which is kind of an issue if thats one of your main selling points for the game, I think They did modify it for number 2 though

It's funny, and entertaining, especially when you play co-op. But it's short, and doesn't have as much replay value as it should, or at least to justify the price tag. I've also heard that Fable II is better. I own both, but oddly haven't finished Fable II, so I have yet to find out if I agree with that statement.

If money's tight, or if this is the only game you'll be able to get for a little while, I would suggest renting it first. Or, buying/renting the first or second one (maybe both?) and go from there.

Still, there are better games out there with more replay value. So, it really depends on exactly what you're looking for, and your financial limitations.

I loved the entire karma system, and how your looks change on how you act.
In the second game, it was split up in good/evil and pure/corrupt.
In the third game, it's back to good/evil, and you don't get horns until the very end of the game, the horns and wings are only visible when you charge an attack. (And during a certain expression called "Extreme Evil", I assume there's something like that for the good characters too)

Fable 3 is okay but it doesn't live up to the hype so don't go in with high expectations. The story is good but the end is anticlimactic and disappointing and it makes you wonder if it's worth it. I had fun with it. My personal opinion is that you should buy it and play it but not at full price. It's good but not good enough for me to pay $80 or even 60 US. (I payed 80 and I regret it)It's a good game but it's just not good enough that you can't wait till it gets as cheap as dirt and don't worry it will. (I hold my ground in that Jack Of Blades is the most badass bastard ever. Fable lost chapters ftw)

I actually agree with this. The latest game is not bad but it is short, really short. The best part about the game is the few sidequests. Also after you have completed the game once you probably do not have the desire to play it again.

As long as you understand that Fable is not a "driven" game, it's more like a sandbox game in every sense of that word. At my apartment, between my wife, my roommate and myself, there's about 7 or 8 completed games and 2 unfinished games in the tally. That's nearly 150 hours, if you count all the screwing around.

But the thing is, that there's no reason to play Fable if you like RPGs. The game is NOT an RPG. It's an action game that gives you a lot of choices and freedom. That's hard to pull off. Stats and weapon upgrades are based more on story progression than skill or practice in combat. Meaningful relationships between characters don't really exist. It's more like toys and tools at your disposal, all working toward you having a good time, rather than a living breathing world like in an RPG.

That said, what combat there was, I enjoyed. The choices are genuinely interesting and Fable 3 has the best story of the bunch. (Fable 2 had the worst "story" ever).
