Ive been a member of the escapist for a few years now, why the hell is it welcoming me to the escapist now and trying to sign me up automatically for some facebook shit?

edit: it's gone, hope it was someone at the escapist removing it.

yeah I just got that as well, I just ignored it, but just before I clicked on this thread it went. Everything appears normal now.

Yeah I just got this, both have the same email address however I don't especially want the two linked. Hopefully it's just a temporary issue that they can clear up.

I've also seen it. I just hit back and forward on my browser and it went away, but it still displeases me to see it. Is there a VuvuZelaMan account on Facebook now? Does my login on the Escapist send data to Facebook? Was that just some spam/phishing thing?

Can someone please explain this?

I just logged out closed my browser and it was gone. My guess is they were testing some new script or tool, check the tech team user group if your curious.

i also already have my facebook linked with escapist, and have a badge to prove it xD

I got it too. I just exited my browser and then started it again. All is good.

I got it too. Just changed my email to the one I have my facebook under. All is wonderful now.

Yeah. I just said the same thing and was about to make my own thread about it but you beat me to it. I'm hoping there's a way that I'll be able to send them a message to take their facebook nonsense and shove it into whatever orifice of theirs they so please.

Edit: The reason I don't want to link them is because I don't want things from facebook cluttering my inbox. I changed what e-mail address I actually use just so I wouldn't have to hear from them again.
