Yep. Thats right there is a movie called "The Social Network" Here is the trailer.
What turns me off from the idea is that they are acting like it is a epic thing (Or at least people of my age group,14, are) I know Tom knows the creator of Facebook Personally but this is crazy. Well the trailer speaks for it self.

Someone did something like this with Myspace a few years back. That movie was stupid and so is this one.

Saw this trailer in the theater right before Inception started.

Really? We're making a film about an asshole who doesn't care about people's privacy?

How is this a story that needs to be told?

Im betting that this movie is about 1000X more exciting than how it was really formed.

I can't say much about the movie, but the trailer's cover of Radiohead's 'Creep' is fucking chillinly beautiful.

You know what, it makes a change from everything else we see in movies nowadays.

I may go see it.

No kidding.

OT: I can't believe that they think a movie about a website will do well.

Dispite this, I might look into this.

Well, if the documentary would focus on how facebook was created by "an asshole who doesn't care about people's privacy" then I think it'd be a good thing. Maybe it would help all the facebook users learn how to protect themselves or even get off the damn thing.

P.S. I'm an ex-facebooker. I left because it was founded by an asshole who didn't care about my privacy.

Never judge a movie by its trailer. Ever.

Facebook is an epic thing, anyway. Its epicness is hard to overstate. Maybe you have to have grown up in the BBS system age to really appreciate how amazing Facebook is. Whether the film will actually be any good - who knows, but it's a worthy topic. The only thing that I think could hold this film back is that maybe it's a little too soon to be making it, given that many of the issues surrounding Facebook in its current form are still ongoing.

Great version of Radiohead's Creep by the way. I like it more than the original.

I know, in real life it was probably the people sitting around in dorm rooms talking, with the eventual boardroom meeting.

Yet the movies going to have car chases, crazy sex parties, and gun fights.

If it doesn't involve people getting sucked into Facebook and racing speederbikes, then it HAS to fail (but probably won't because hey, if people watched twilight, they might as well make another movie that bores sane humans to death).

Sorry if I offended any people who use Facebook, but to me this looks like a freaking joke.
I hate Facebook.
I hate the fact that people are using "friends" as a symbol of status.
It's like people that post just to get a higher post-count, or those people who thinks that other care about how many thumbs up they've gotten.
I hope those people just stay inside and don't multiply. Ever.
