FFXII for me. I was looking forward to quite a bit, comparing to the nice gameplay 10 had. Then they remove the gameplay from 10, have a horrible party setup, and just have a weird battle system.

Far Cry 2, it was incredibly hyped up, but it ultimately failed.
The Jackal was barely in it at all and both the endings were stupid. It was basically "Here's the enemy! Now go do twenty completly unrelated missions until he pops up to save your ass again!"

Killzone 2. Too much hype for a really bad game. Yes graphics are good but everything else is horrible. But that is my opinion, bring on the fanboys
Killzone has fans?

Sorry did see that 2 there.

Spore... oh we were promised a game that would change the world. Instead, we got mediocrity. Disappointment is flowing through my veins.

anyway, i'm not sure whether a lot of games i've played that disappoint me are trying hard enough to fail really. star wars rogue squadron on the nintendo 64 probably goes here though. i'm sure there are others, better choices, i just cant think of them at the moment.

Oh, here's another one. There wasn't too much commotion around it, but Damnation was a terrible game. Story sucked, gameplay mechanics sucked, graphics sucked ... just one epic fail game.

How true, we were promised a revolutionary game with awesomeness oozing from every pore. Instead we got some sort of RTS light crap.

Call of Duty 5. Guns were unbalanced, dogs were cheap, guns sounded awful, spawn system sucked, and most of all... Tanks. Tanks were nightmares to fight against.

The only good thing about WaW was zombies, and I wouldn't buy the game only for that.

Jumper (If you've ever played this, you'll know why)

Crash of the Titans (Completely bastardized what the Crash Bandicoot games were about)

Tak and the power of JuJu. (Really, this one sucks so badly that I can't even express it)

Big Mutha Truckers (Drive from point A to point B within the time limit over and over and over and over again)

Halo 3 (The sheer amount of fanboys this game possesses makes me ashamed to have bought it)

Two Worlds (I don't even know how to express this one)

Fable 2 (They COMPLETELY fucked up the magic system for me. Fuck that.)

Farcry 2 (They got rid of the feral powers which PISSED ME OFF and the AI is fucking Godlike when you're trying to be stealthy. They can see you through a fucking HILL for fuck sakes)

Assassin's Creed (There was no assassin element in this game for me. Each damn target SAW YOU AND FOUGHT YOU! The only people you could actually assassinate were civilians and guards)

Every Pokemon game to come out after Red, Blue, Yellow and Pokemon Stadium. (It's the same fucking thing over and over again)

Some Yugioh! games on the PS2. (Really, the AI is fucking cheap as hell)

All sports games. (The fucking concept fails. Playing sports on a console in your living room and on your couch defeats the entire purpose of sports.

Over G-Fighters (UGH! The person who made this should be burned alive in a vat of acid)

Dead to Rights 2 (COMPLETELY FUCKED DEAD TO RIGHTS UP! I couldn't even play 1 properly after I played that massive pile of festering shit!)

F.E.A.R 1 and 2 (NOT. FUCKING. SCARY.)

Dead Space (NOT. FUCKING. SCARY.)

Edit: I just finished THe Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. It was fun, but the entire "After 3 days you have to restart almost everything you've done and go back to the start of the fucking game lolololol" bullshit. A few times I was right at a boss fight, but the fucking time limit was up and I had to restart the entire fucking dungeon all over again.

Edit 2: How could I possibly forget about GTAIV? Realism like that does not belong in a game. I've never, NEVER seen a person fall 6 feet and die. Injured, yes, but not DIE.

Too Human. The story was very interesting, but the fighting got way too repetitive way too fast.

I completely agree with you on this one. The game was terrible. The only positive was that you could get some quick achievements from it. Other than that it was an utter failure.

Force Unleashed, at least the Wii version.

I really thought the controls would make or break that one. Controls were fine, but the rest of the game was abyssmal. And the story is so bloated that the long-time SW fan in me died a bit.

World of Warcraft.

I don't understand why they did this, Warcraft wasn't even a god damn RPG! It would make sense for "World of Diablo" considering it was an RPG already.
So your reason for calling it a "fail game" is that it was a stupid idea? I'd be delighted if my stupid ideas made me billions but whatever, you're opinion. I don't play or like WoW but you can't call it "fail".

Anyway, Ninety Nine Nights. I payed £4 for it and it's still the biggest waste of money game I own.

Do we really need to look farther than Superman 64? Or E.T. for the Atari 2600? All the games everyone has mentioned thus far at least have some entertainment value. Superman and E.T. are just...well, garbage.

I've been lucky enough to only have played good games in my life, but the biggest fail game for me was probably Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. It was a lot worse than the original Tactics and really fell below my (admittedly huge) expectations.
