Well, Nickelodeon is making a Live action Fairly Oddparents movie with Drake Bell as Timmy Turner.

"In the movie, an older Timmy is still in the fifth grade and living at home, but all that changes when he begins to have feelings for Tootie (Victorious' Daniella Monet), a nerdy girl who has grown into a beautiful woman and returned to town. Timmy must make a choice between his godparents or growing up and being in love. .... Steven Weber (Wings, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip) also stars as a larger-than-life oil tycoon, who turns his attention to capturing Timmy's fairies and using their power to fuel his maniacal ambition."

Ok.. now for my thoughts on this; NO! STOP! YOU'RE RUINING IT!

The writer doesn't seem to know much about Timmy or even the show itself. One of the main staples of the show was Tootie loving Timmy and him hating it. And according to the show (shut up, I watched it through high school too) Wanda and Cosmo wouldn't leave Timmy until he was 18, not when he fell in love. *sigh* Why must all good things be ruined?
ps: I heard Mr. Crocker won't be in the movie

....what?

Okay, I may be reverting back to my childhood self, but I loved this show to death and would hate to see this happen. Why the hell would they make a live action version of it?

That honestly doesn't make any sense to me.

And who the fuck is Drake Bell?

*vomits* This is even worse than a live action Smurfs movie. Kudos for coming up with a worse idea; that takes talent.

Oh.

Oh god.

They're doing it so wrong.

Having an actually serious plot in Fairly Odd Parents just does not seem right, and without the infinite possibilities of cartoons, the most ridiculous of scenarios are out of reach. And Drake Bell? Really?

This show may have shaped my childhood, but I'll pass.

Why make a live action movie out of it? It would be better if they animated it because that way all the voice actors could be hired back. Plus, it would seem Drake Bell is a little old to be able to play a fifth grader.

That's like saying Timmy's going to have perfect teeth and lacking a pink hat! Maybe Vicky ran off and became a nun too....

I'm waiting for this to be the worst movie of the year. I really don't understand how they're expecting to pull this off. Fairly Oddparents was actually probably my favorite late childhood show (I'd keep watching it even now if it didn't lose it's quality.) Just by looking at these very, very rough ideas it's almost impossible to NOT cock it up.

And is Steven Weber supposed to be playing Doug Dimadome or something? Not that that point would even rank top 10 on the biggest mistakes they've made so far, but I'm interested. They're kind of the exact opposite characters.

This info being released after my dreams already got shitted on after watching The Last Airbender.

What the fuck is wrong with these people?
Why do these people feel the need to rape decent nick cartoons by making them live action and destroying the stories?
What's next, Rocko's Modern Life or Doug or Rugrats?
Goddammit!

There's already been several animated movie-things. In a similar way to how there's actually been like 5 spongebob "movies" even though you've only heard of the one. Except all the fairly oddparents things I've seen weren't actually half bad.

How fucking stupid ARE people!? Did nobody at Nick look at this and think for a second, "Ya know, this might be a bad idea..." I thought this was a joke at first until I googled multiple sources. EVERYTHING is wrong. They should be strapped down and forced to watch the show through the TV channel special so they can go and hurry and fix this mistake >:U

This is totally a joke. Nickelodeon wouldn't let someone that old be in the 5th grade, it will give them a bad image for promoting that as okay.

That's, that's really really stupid. Yeah the show sometimes (OK. A lot of the times) had nonsensical plots, but still. That's really dumb.

And how the hell do you think you can have The Fairly Odd parents without Darren Norris?

Oh, wait they said the movie would appear on Nickelodeon. The actual channel? Oh, well then a TV movie is actually the direction this should go... Eh, at least it won't be gracing the silver screen.

Maybe I'm weird, but I think that Rocko's Modern Life live action movie could be awesome if it was done right. To be honest, as long as they stay away from Doug and Hey Arnold, I'll be fine with them screwing up all of their good IPs. They already have a head start with Avatar TLA.

Okay, I never made a habit of watching the show, so I can't say too much, but... who thought this was a good idea? I can't say it'll ruin the show or anything, since I didn't really watch it, but how on earth could a live-action version of this particular show possibly be any good? :/

I larfed so friggn hard when I saw the picture on the link. But who cares, its gonna be a C movie that little kids are gonna go see and teen movie dates are gonna take part in it as well.

Other than that? Its just a corporation wringing the last bit of money out of their once glamorous franchise, its sad, but then what company isn't willing to sacrifice their ability to sleep at night for a quick buck? (Activision, Toyota and the list goes on)

Fanboys are really too narrow minded.

It would be a interesting turn for the series. What with a serious story and what-not. But I can't see the live action thing. I mean Timmy wasn't going to remain a little kid for the rest of his life, and this could be a great way of showing viewers what Timmy will be like when he matures and how the universe of the show will change.

Either way, I could still see it being terrrrrrrible.

Dragon Ball Z?
Avatar the last Airbender?

Somehow this looks like it's going to be a total flop, thats like having a Spongebob movie brought to reality, dried up starfish and kitchen sponges on wires and hooks with google eyes glued to them.
