I saw the link and think you took the quote out of context.

The quote was a summary of the comic because people were having a hard time figuring out what the joke is about because the author had to make it as needlessly complicated as possible, when another post in the thread summed up the comic in a better way.

The people who were complimenting him were happy they understood wtf the comic was about.

Well now I feel like an idiot, but at least I'm a little happier about the general well being of the world. He's actually pretty funny.
