Alright, whenever something horrible happens due to the concious actions of human beings and gets posted on this site people say something along the lines of "I've lost even more faith in humanity". So I was wondering, is there anything that improved your faith in our species? And what is the worst thing you've read that made you lose the most faith in humanity? Also, what is the best one that made you gain faith in humanity? Furthermore, what do you estimate your hope for humanity to be from 0 to 100?

Here's my worst. Whenever I hear the WBC (Worthless Bastards Church as I like to call them) protest another funeral of a dead soldier, AIDs patient, famous person, denounce another peoples faiths or insult a country in the name of their violent hateful "god" I'm at a loss as how these people haven't been shot considering how America is sterotyped as having a thousand fucking rednecks with a thousand fucking guns and how those types of people are patriotic to the point of stupidity. So the fact that the WBC hasen't been attacked by an angry mob pisses me off, those assholes shouldn't even be protected by free speech, what they do is a hate speech.

As for what restored my faith in humanity, is when a lady who was by the river where that ***** threw the puppies in actually saved 5 out of 6 of them. As for my total faith in humanity, well I think it's somewhere near 60. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, so I like to believe that assholes just get more screentime on T.V.

Now it's your turn.

There is one thing that always restores my faith in humanity:

Actually OT:

The endless possibility in human imagination. We can think our way out of almost anything, and the stories that we can think of never cease to amaze me.

Bad news is usually the kind of news deemed worthy. The media doesn't want to report that a child has done a selfless act, or that people sacrifice themselves for their loved ones everyday. Only fuckwits, extremists and nationalistic twats get air time. My faith in humanity is high. I know, that when push comes to shove, humans will do the right thing. (The 'right' thing being a subjective thing, don't bother quoting me to argue about that.)

Because I'm happy!
See? This is me [http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs50/f/2009/311/f/e/Aye___Happy___Fairy_Tail_by_Sey_Sey.jpg]

As for worst... I'm not sure.
Even though I'll probably get flamed by at least some for this, it's those overly-religious people.
I don't give a damn about those that believe in God and go to church every Sunday. To each his own and whatnot.
I'm talking those people who go around and punching people for not believing in the bible.

And I'm happy right now, because I'm in love again.
First time in a very long time now.
Religous zealots? On the Escapist flaming you? Your kidding right?

My faith in humanity will be completely restored when people turn their back on Glenn Beck and/or someone makes a really good mashup of D.A.N.C.E./One More time.

Anyway, as the late, great Kurt Vonnegut once said, 'There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but there are none to hate without reservation- to assume that God Almighty hates with you.'

I haven't lost faith in humanity, the majority of people are going to have to act like fuckwits for that to happen. It may seem like that now but they are just the loudest people.

I would have to say we have gotten better. Compared to the dark ages we are doing ok (maybe?) at the moment. 70/100

The fact that someone has ever claimed feelings for me.
Granted I've never met them in real life and I question their sanity and desperation because of their feelings.

What?
No, not on the Escapist!
I thought we were talking over-all here.

If you don't mean the part about flaming.
Which is because I'm fairly certain some people on here are religious!
Well yeah we have relgious people on the Escapist, I was talking about the crazy fanatical "YOUR GOING TO HELL IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE THE SAME THING AS ME" kind.

Like i said previously in my last thread about this. The one hope...THE ONLY HOPE I HAVE IN HUMANITY Is Christianity. I'm 50 at the moment. What makes me lose faith is the way people can't accept other peoples opinions and see why they choose them.

I don't think iv ever lost faith in humanity.
For every bad incident i can go find a good one.
For every horrible crime or accident i can find people risking their own lives for people they don't even know.

Sure idiots like the WBC make me angry and i don't understand how they can think like that but, there are still good things being done in the world.
If as long as there is still good left, and others don't give up, i wont loose faith in humanity.
We have come to far to give up now.

I don't know. It's pretty low right now what with me hearing about people's problems all the time.

When you stop to think about it, this really can be a horrible reality we live in.

Right now....it's at about 3.

That actually makes me lose hope for humanity (specifically Americans).

And I'd have to say Skullkid4187 gives me hope for humanity. He knows what he posted is flamebait, but he posted it anyways. Nothing is more human than that.

Agreed (not with the Christianity thing, not saying that it's bad I just don't belive in it.). It's easier to negotiate and talk to people when you understand their viewpoints/opinions, but people love to be right and hate to be wrong.
