i stacked a ton of decapitated body parts on my bed if that counts as interesting...
How do you do this? I can't seem to carry things from room to room. (Or at least until the next loading screen)

Morrowind on the other hand had many tens of hours dumping in to perfectly decorating my house with my rare loot and perfectly arranged lighting and even an alphabetical library.
Dude...

Worth it?
Seriously... Wow.
On the xbox even. Made worse with the even more random crashes and lack of accuracy. But it was awesome. Though eventually I gathered so much rare loot that nobody could afford to buy off me it got rather cluttered.

Well, I had dogmeat and got him some dog bowls (and a human arm to gnaw on), any my entire house was a bar with the love machine theme. Lots of alcohol everywhere, no books, only booze. I had to resist the urge to shag my own house.

Got the Love Machine theme. Am stacking sentimental clothing on the bed. I might just stack the fat men in the upstairs closed-off room.

You are posting on a video game forum.

You are as cool as him.

Except you are a dick.

I collected skulls, built the wizard tower, decorated the dungeon with said skulls, purchased all buyable slaves, and locked them in the dungeon with the lock spell.

That took... FOREVER.

Sold the xbox and my buddy formated the drive. /cry

I collected every gnome I could find in the game and then set up a cool domino line with them.

OMG YOU CAN DO THAT?!

..i always tried to set up a base of operations with cool/powerful stuff in the STALKER games. (only open world games i really have.)
Only in those you can't actually do that because items in the "stash chests" make your game lag when you reach the active memory to hard drive conversion line..

When i discovered that was why i was lagging about in those games instead of smooth game play i cried.

I....really....need fallout 3 now.

I didn't do anything more special than selecting a random theme and buying all the upgrades. Morrowind on the other hand had many tens of hours dumping in to perfectly decorating my house with my rare loot and perfectly arranged lighting and even an alphabetical library.
I did the same thing with Oblivion.

I stole a ton of mutilated body parts from Gore Bags, took the Raider theme and some skulls and other assorted body parts, and indulged my goriest whims.
Heh... I did the gore bag thing too, it was pretty funny.

Besides that, i merely bought the extra junk. I keep things organized in my house: weapons in the desk, clothes in the drawer next to that, aid in the fridge, misc in the cabinet next to the door, and things I often swap in the last cabinet.

I bought all the accessories for my house, mostly so I wouldn't have to truck my piles of spare parts to someone else's workbench. The Nuka Cola Machine is awesome as well, as ice cold nuka cola delivers substantially more health. I didn't leave stuff lying around though. I had my guns and armor in one locker, my parts for weapons in another locker and piles of food/drink/drugs in my fridge. In general, I would keep one pristine version of each weapon type I found in the locker. At this point, since I have most of the "upgraded" weapons, my old standbys are locker queens. Though I am constantly having to go out of my way to find sniper rifles to repair my Reservist Rifle with, which has an annoying combination of breaking quickly and having few weapons to repair from. Vengeance is the same way as gattling lasers are relatively rare until the very end of the game.

I just went around collecting as many skill books and pre-war books as possible and making my own library on the shelves. Once I get bored with that I think I'll sell them all. I also have Every kind of power armor laid out on my bed in the Weatherly hotel room. I also managed to set up my own chessboard with the shotglasses and mini garden gnomes... took my damn near a day to get it right but... I finally got it.

... then I found out the developers did the same thing in one of the comm towers...

I got the vault theme, because I figured my dude might be homesick... or something. He goes there every once in a while, drops a shitload of drug bottles and syringes and stuff onto the floor (there's a huge pile now... I was kind of hoping that drug-addict guy would break in if I stockpiled enough Psycho), orders water from his sassy British robot butler, and hits the road one more time.

I was quite happy with the science theme myself, but I personally would have liked a more opulent option. I understand it's a wasteland and all, and that good shit is hard to come by. But by the end of the game when you've got 20,000 caps to blow, surely enough caps could by some nice wall paper, art, a nice chandelier, etc?
Or some Fear Factory for your jukjebox! I'd like to kill super mutants with Demanufacture blaring in my ears... Three Dog would cry.
