i loved some of your other ones, but i just didnt laugh at this one. Ok, well maybe at the scoring.
I've come to the conclusion that this one wasn't my best, and the consensus is there to support that.
I'm gonna take a break for a while to gather my 'reviewing' thoughts, and hopefully come back with something more like my original writing.
Thanks for reading, though!

I thought it was hilarious. Especialy the part where you first mentioned the game involves breakdancing.

Two points:

I put this in spoilers because I felt bad that it's sort of hijacking the thread, and I don't want anyone to respond to this (in this thread atleast).First, on a serious note, I would like to say that I am extremely dissapointed with the Escapist's mods (again). Searanox was put on probation just for expressing his opinion on this review, which he was completely in his right to do, or should have been atleast. Sure it was a bit harsh, but he used no profanity or any such thing, did not make any sort of attack on the reviewer himself, and also used proper grammer and capitalization and all that. Just because he must be crazy to think this isn't funny doesn't mean he should be punished for stating his opinion. People aren't required to provide a "constructive comment" if they do like something, so why must he if he doesn't like it?

Sorry for hijacking the thread a little bit but I really do think the mods are a bit too harsh on this forum (though they seem like decent people otherwise). Especially since there is no rule specified in the forum rules requiring people to provide constructive comments whenever they express criticism a fellow poster's material. You can't punish people for not magically knowing that such a rule is in effect.

Anyway, while I approve of the severe bashing of New Jersey contained in this review, I would like to clarify one point for the sake of those who are just learning about the wretched hellhole that is New Jersey. You should note that there is an area of New Jersey which is redeemed slightly thanks to its close proximity to New York and, even more influentially, New York City itself. With something as great as NYC, it is inevitable that some of its greatness would rub off on nearby states, even across the glorious mass of polluted river water that is the Hudson River.

New Jersey's case is also helped by the fact that Jon Stewart emerged from its dark wretchedness, as did I after living the first 2 1/2 years of my life there.

And when I started writing this I didn't even notice that my friend Orannis here supported my ideas, but as you can see he did.

Yeah, New Jersey isn't that bad. Or at least, North Jersey isn't :)
See? I'm not crazy.

This satire is so delicious and moist. Yes, moist. Google that.

Nicely written with brilliant use of hyperbole and utter bullshit. One could almost consider you an English major. It shows in the fuzzy maths too.
You're really into the use of the words 'hyperbole' and 'satire,' aren't you?

In any case, I liked the review. Take that, discussion value.

SO TEA.
I don't appreciate that it's set in Jersey. Hmph, my state is not that bad, Meanine McJerkinstein! When you come to Jersey, we'll party in the non-smog air free sunshiney sun... Since y'know, I'm the MaNewJer and all. ♥
Yeah, New Jersey isn't that bad. Or at least, North Jersey isn't :)
Pffft. South Jersey isn't THAT bad. I'd just like to NOT live here. :(

No, you're not crazy. lolz

I'll spoiler my reply!

I do believe when I first saw Searanox's reply, it wasn't as nice as it was quoted. I'm not sure that Tea saw the original post. But since the mods can see the original posts sans editting, I think he got probation for what he said first, before he editted his post.

Conclusion:
Don't hit post if you think your reply is going to get you probated. Because even if you come back and EDIT it, chances are someone already reported you and the mods can see what you posted prior to your edit. And they can still slap your wrists for it. So - in the immortal words of Austin Powers - "OH be-haaave!"

Ah, that's true, he might have edited it. That would make more sense, perhaps the mods aren't as crazy as they appeared. In that case, I retract my earlier rant.

I liked it; I don't read reviews for opinions, but if they can make me laugh, than it counts for something.

Right away we see that the game is set in New Jersey.
How would you like your "win" served?

In all honesty, if some may see the work a bit bland, they have got to give you credit for one of the most clever things I've ever read online.

Excellent review, made me laugh.

By the way, don't be telling stories whilst I'm scrolling up!

Yeah, its funny, but you think WAY too highly of yourself...
Where did you get any pretentiousness out of the review? Also, why did you necro this thread just to post that?

I laughed several times, and at 3:30am too. There are a few moments of genius in there that coalesce with my sense of humour perfectly.

"You'll have to travel...and 'liberate' the block!"

That was fantastic.
