Thats a good question... I keep thinking I remember seeing dead cats laying around in a building somewhere but I remember IM thinking of Bioshock; (dont ask how I got them confused)

On the subject of animals Im surprised there wasn't 3 eyed fish like from the Simpsons or Wolves in Fallout New Veags or some strange underwater creature in the water of Point Lookout cause I was expecting something to be in that damn water.

They probably do exist in some environments, but just not the ones we've been to. They might be more likely to survive in colder, more foresty environments. Besides, since cats aren't exactly threats to our protagonist, there's not much point in programming them as enemies. Maybe they are around but they're just really good at not being seen.

But why didn't the dogs die if the cats did
And come to think of it [Off Topic; Why is there only one dead cat in Bioshock?]
If you're responding to someone use the quote button.

OT: The dogs probably ate them.

Maybe we could get some of those mutated giant cats that's like those ancient sabretooth kittehs? They could take a Yao Guai snack and use a deathclaw as a toothpick :)

It would be nice to have them tho, I mean, I do like the dogs. But why don't the cats mutate or evolve like the Yaoi Gui or the Deathclaw
Probably killed by the radiation I'm guessing.

Keep in mind that not all animals survived. I guess cats just didn't have what it took to survive nuclear world war, especially with people seeing them as an easy source of food.

Cats are eaten by humans. They are... "were" easy targets. Thus they all got eaten to extinction by starving and desperate humans. And other animals. But since they were pets. The leading cause would be us eating them.

I just think they don't wanted to program them more than anything, cats are very good survivors and we didn't really breed the need to kill out of cats like we did dogs. Realistically dogs would have been easier prey than cats.

also why are crows only bird to survive?
Crows can scavenge meat (I'm about 85% sure of that) other birds eat bugs and plants and seeds and shit like that, so assuming most of those things died, the non scaveging birds would die out, which raises another question. Where are the buzzards?

You've obviously never had to deal with feral cats then. Bastard things.
loving the way someone hasn't pointed that the first statement is kinda wrong with the whole beastiality thang
I think that speaks more to what you think than what Rhombus thinks... just sayin.

EDIT: Twistedheat not Rhombus, my bad.

I'm pretty sure that house cats are near extinct. They do exist, since people know what they are, but they are very rare - which makes sense. A mostly unaltered dog *could* still exist in the wild without human intervention because they are medium sized pack predators (I'm certain wild dogs could take down a brahmin, or mole rat, or even bighorner with little problem - let alone people and possibly even gekos). House cats unfortunately don't have either size or cooperation going for them.

The mountain cats on the other hand... I thought they were Nightstalkers. If you look at them, they are definately feline in appearance and remind me of mountain lions.
