Don't forget the medicine bubblehead on your dads desk before taking the G.O.A.T
Also your the most inportant skills are small guns, repair, medicine and lockpick.

Set your Luck at 6 or above. If you do so, you will receive the effects of the Scrounger and Fortune Finder perks without actually having to activate them as perks. You also get a better chance to score a critical strike on an enemy.

Furthermore, make sure your agility is 6 or higher. It is really helpful when using VATS. Personally, I like to set mine at 7, because the FPS elements of Fallout 3 can be a bit quick and dirty. Early on, you might even die if you are a tad slow with the trigger finger.

Bloody Mess is a fun perk, but your computer may lag a bit if you have it activated. If you are playing on an Xbox 360, disregard this hint.

Lady Killer is possibly the most useless perk ever. I will only tell you that it won't work in the way that most heterosexual men want it to.

Fawkes is the best companion in the game, probably because he wields a Gatling Laser that never runs out of ammo. You meet him fairly late in the game, though, in the "Finding the Garden of Eden" quest.

You're about to give away weeks of your life to this game.
And you're going to love every miniute of it.

Solve the puzzle in The Museum of Technology (The Vault should help you find what I'm on about. You get an amazing assault rifle as a result of it.

Look, we all know the dangers of radiation. But a few simple precautions can help prevent accidental death or...eeeeugh, ghoulification. Check those Geiger Counters, kiddies. Tick-tick-tickity means run your ass out of there, then pop some Rad-Away for good measure. If you need to head into the heat, be prepared. Take a big boost of Rad-X first. Remember children, only you can prevent human flesh fires.

Three Dog. Galaxy News. All you need to know. And now, some music.
Hey everybody, did the news get around about a guy named Butcher Pete?
I've played Fallout 3 so god damn much that I've got all those sound bytes memorized and yet, I can't stop listening to GNR...

With your weapon holstered, crouch near a brahmin and press the activate button (A for the 360).

Holding down B(360. O is PS3 equivalent, i think TAB for PC) will make your pip boy illuminate.

Raise the difficulty to max, it'll be quite dull if you don't. I don't play FPSs that aren't RPGs so I'm not that good at it and I can handle that difficulty just fine. Makes the game actually feel like it's difficult to survive and you need to consider when to spend ammo. The world of Fallout should be a deadly place where only the strongest survive.

Oh, you can also forget the main story once you reach Rivet City (or sooner, if you find the place on your own). I mean you should forget the main story. Although they might have fixed that in one of the DLCs.

Collect irons. Later in the game, there is a shortage of pressed shirts and irons become very valuable.

And Teddy Bears.

Okay that's not true. But this is, save Nuka Cola Quantum and don't drink it. First time I played I sold some of the Quantums for caps. There's a limited number in the game, and you'll need them later.
Ya, I made that mistake too. I thought it said that it restored 20 HP but it was AP, and I drank like 6 of them before I realized it. I essentially wasted 6 Quantums, and I didn't know they would be important later. I never did finish that quest either...

Don't fight a Bethemoth without a Fat Man, unless you're dealing with the Evergreen Mills bethemoth, which you can do with a Flamer or something.

oh, and in Bethesta Ruins, there's a Raider that carries a Big Guns skill book that respawns every 3 in-game days, if you're patient, and have the Comprehension Perk, it's the best way to get to 100 in Big Guns.

BTW, if you miss getting the Medicine bobblehead in Vault 101, you have another chance to get it in the quest "Trouble on the Homefront."
