alright, I'm a big follower if the fallout series, since the first one.
but i enjoy Bethesda's version as well. (i don't consider new vegas a game in the fallout series, because i hated it so much)

But is anyone else excited for fallout 4? i know it will run on the same engine that skyrim is being developed on. but even then, if the developers completely leave that stupid barren piece of shit Mojave wasteland and get back to big city's, a well developed story. plus a chance at bug-less game play. well it's something to be excited about. what do you guys think?

Well being a fan on Fallout 1-2, I found new vegas a good step in the right direction. I kinda laugh when your mad about a Bethesda having bugs...

But besides that I'm hoping for less loading screens.

New Vegas was invisible wall filled trash.

As for Fallout 4 I'm thinking:

SETTING: Either The Commonwealth (Massachusetts) or maybe somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico (New Orleans etc.)

PLOT: I'm hoping for another Vault plot, maybe your in one of those horribly failed Enclave Vaults and you and your faithful group of chums have to fight your way out and try to survive. From there maybe there's some Brotherhood thing to deal with, or maybe you get to join up with some restored government or something.

That's really all that matters to me, as long as the bullets come out the front of the gun and the Combat Armor looks badass I'm fine with it.

I have high hopes for Fallout 4. Theory I've been cooking up; It's suggested that both China and America have been nuked to every last bit of their soil, but it doesn't say too much about every other country. I can imagine the story being a crashed plane from England or something landing in the nuclear ruins of America.

I think the Fallout universe is at risk. Each game sees the stabilization of the Fallout world, civilization rising from the ashes and shaking the dust off itself. I remember Fallout 1 when the world was barely on its feet and civilization was only as large as The Hub or the LA boneyard. Now there are whole cities and casinos and even a working water-purifier on the east coast. The Fallout world is starting to return to how it was before the bombs dropped.

That simply cannot do. Fallout 4 should see a Midwestern setting that combines both a large, dense urban area, and a large suburban sprawl that has succumbed to the irradiated wilderness. And at the center of this domain should be the threat of another apocalypse waiting to be launched.

In this case, Fallout 4 should be a standalone game with no previous ties to NV or Fallout 3. also, I want more feral Ghouls, damnit!

Eh pulled this from the vault wiki
"Allistair Tenpenny came to the Capital Wasteland from Great Britain to seek his fortune, so that alone tells you that the U.K. was also hit in the war. And if he came to U.S. to succeed, that says a lot about how screwed up Europe must be. So we just allude, a little bit, to the state of the rest of the world. We like to leave a lot to the players' imaginations, and somebody like Tenpenny serves as a catalyst for those thoughts." - Emil Pagliarulo[1]

I think a Fallout based out of China could be interesting.

Yeah the European Commonwealth was locked in a bitter inter-war with itself. And once the US and the Reds launched, the Soviets would of too, mutual assured destruction you know. And the rest of the world would of launched as well. I would like to see Canada, due to the following:

-The US Annexation, I would love to see that expanded upon
-It's post-Great War state, Ashur in The Pitt refers to a "Ronto" being a great military power, possibly referring to Toronto, Ontario
-A Vault-Tec letter found in FO3 suggests that either Vaults were constructed in Canada or it is so low priority that it may have been largely overlooked by the Reds

He could've just as well came to America for success due to how good Britain was doing. He could've been a moderately rich guy in Britain, but that meant nothing. So he went to America with food and money to throw around, and Wastelanders did whatever they could to serve him.
But probably not. Oh well.

A nuked London would be awesome and could be very atmospheric. I think they might have trouble thinking up dangerous animals for England.

Giant radioactive badgers....actually that's pretty horrifying. o_O *tries to unthink*

More vaults, side quests, voice actors. Less copy pasted doungens. Maybe a trip to the moon in a DLC. New, better weapons, better jumping. I really loved NV. Keeping the ironsights would be on my good side. I like the idea of a southern Fallout. I liked those things that you just stumbled upon like the devils throat and what was inside it. I also liked how big the map was and all the interesting side things in it. The unique structures. I want to find more treasure, even if you just sell it. Like artifacts, I'm a big treasure hunter. Oh and to keep Obsidian.

Well now you've done it, I've gone and wall of texted myself.

New vegas map seemed small but it was big but did't feel big.
(you can see the towns from the road right after you exit one) looking for more travel.

I think it might be interesting to see a Fall Out set in, or at least featuring, parts of the South Eastern end of Virginia, though that's mostly because I used to live there.

I also think it might be interesting to see a first/third person remake/reboot of the first (and maybe second) Fall Out, or at least a game set soon after the bombs first fell.

Oh to be young and totally unaware that fallout 1-2, baldurs gate, planescape, arcanum, Vampire: Bloodlines and pretty much everything black isle come trokia come Obsidian have ever come out with have initially been broken buggy pieces of shit. And also the best RPGs ever made. Anyone bitching about vegas being bugged clearly never played fallout 2 when it came out. Prior to the fan patches that game had a random bug that made it utterly unplayable due to your entire skill tree disappearing. Vampire had a fun one that made the game impossible to beat past a certain point due to it crashing over and over.

So there are technical difficulties, sure. But what made the fallout universe was the fact that beyond that, there's always a rock solid plot to carry through it.

Here's the thing. Fallout's got a quality that fallout 3 ignores and vegas just brushes with. An incredible but very dark sense of humor. The Wild Wasteland showed a glimmer of that, but there should be more. The first two games, in addition to being amazingly cool, were also hilarious. That needs to be brought back in.

There are numerous places to take the series, but for the love of god, keep it with obsidian. What I would REALLY like to see? Bring back the old transition maps from fallout 1 and 2. Sure, it's nice being able to walk from point A to point B, but it makes the maps feel small, even when they aren't.

It's going to have bugs. There really is no way around that given how it's going to be huge and intricate. All we can really hope is that this time they test it enough to get any bugs on the main and companion quests. It's one thing if that Followers girl never appears outside the 38, but it's another entirely if Veronica wont walk.
